I'm a Samsung Knight, but it kills me that my Note 20 Ultra, 3 years in the past, had better cameras than the Fold. I miss my 50x scumbag zoom so bad. Why, Floss? Flossy I agree with how the box looks it should look fancy if your spending so money. I mean you already spending so much on the phone. For that price you should get a Samsung case galaxy buds pro 3 fast charging wall plug and a screen protector shoudl be in the box. I don’t get it cause the first galaxy fold has such a nice box and it came with so much including the galaxy buds plus. Samsung listen to floss he telling the true.
Fast charging is not the only thing holding them back. Samsung is getting complacent.
The fold 6 is not worth the price that they asking for that phone is missing too much stuff for 1,800 dollars.
Not to mention the camera on the fold 6 is mediocre.

I think people prefer the slimmer display because its all they've ever tried, I switched to Pixel fold and love the wider display i personally can't wait for the next Pixel fold because of the full size screen.

I agree with you Floss, it's easy to get the Fold repaired in the US and the Samsung software and the S Pen are big advantages.
Because of this, I believe the only time Samsung will seriously work on improving the hardware is when Apple launches their foldables...
In the meantime, paying for that Samsung hardware at those prices are TGH!

I have been using the Xiaomi mix fold 3 for about a year now. Wonderful phone. Unlike the Samsung fold 3 which went kaput just after the warranty period.

I prefer the more slim Samsung fold becasue it is indeed smaller and i dont need a full sized screen in my day to day activities. And even though you don't buy it, it is way easier to use one handed than an S24U.
Pixel Fold is even more easier to use one handed! You can reach the top bar with your thumb (!), to swipe down for notifications.
Your comments about the Samsung outer display are totally on point, I had a fold 6 and sent it back, it's just too narrow. It's a mystery why Samsung are still doing this, the fact that no other brand have gone narrow speaks volumes. If they thought they would sell in volume every manufacturer would go narrow, but they don't, the majority of people want wider. This narrow design will be seen as a quirk in the fold development timeline in years to come, it's like buying out of date tech already 😅

If narrow is the golden ticket then why are other manufacturers not making them ?, they easily could make them more narrow and less usable if that's what would sell more units !
@estoylaroca because Foldables sales year over year is not meeting Samsungs sales goals despite having Foldables out for 6 generations already and being the only game in town in their most important market (the US) which is a huge failure. According to your logic since Samsung is the original, despite shitty sales number they should keep doing what they're doing because they're the original.
@@estoylarocadecent points, but most tech reviewers are paid by Samsung for reviews. None of them actually use a zFold as a "daily driver", without also having a second phone.
Also, Samsung market share "had" a monopoly mainly in the US & Canada, but not in the world market. Huawei is the Global leader of phones, followed by other Chinese brands, and Samsung only has around a 20% share.
As for technology, Samsung excels only in screen development, and are a leader, but that's where it ends.
Samsung hardware technology is about 2yr behind, not really thru fault of their own, but instead because they rely on US "silicon valley" level of technology, which doesn't give their latest tech to consumer market, but only to military. It's a dumb US policy.
In comparison, China has been forced to develop their own fabrication technology, very different from US. In doing so, they have surpassed US by almost 2yrs, in further development of circuit miniaturization technology.
This is why you see the insane thinness of all Chinese foldables. I am not taking sides, but just telling it the way it is.
It's a hard pill to swallow for Samsung knights. They think that Samsung is leader, because they're engrossed into the software experience.
They don't realize stock vanilla Android experience only lacks the extra customization (mostly personalization, not productivity) offered by Samsung. That and Dex are it's strong points.
The outer screen controversy was never Samsung strong point, and basically an excuse for the real issue that they never changed it. Samsung always wanted it's inner screen to be used as a "portrait view" for users to grow accustomed to "Single tasking", not multitasking.
The only manufacturer that clearly enhanced its "launcher" to guide user to operate conducive to multitasking, was "Microsoft launcher" version specific to it's Surface Duo 1&2 phone.
Google tried to follow suit with Pixel Fold, but only gave a lesser plain Android multitasking layout experience.
Regardless, the reality is that Samsung needs to play catch-up in hardware, even if it stays with same aspect ratio forever.
This years zFold6 desperately needed competitive battery and charging speeds, which are currently dismal, in relation to the competition.
Epic Fail (especially it's cameras), but Samsung is not alone in setbacks. It seems the next Google Pixel Fold will also be sub-par in battery & charging speeds. Sad all around.
Best advice would be to wait it out until all reviews come out next 2 mo, or even wait for next year (for Samsung knights). They will all eventually catch up with each other in both hardware & software, and real competition probably will heat up for next year. Wishful thinking...

The crease high visibility at an angle is negligible, Because no one will be looking at the content on the screen at an angle. That is weird whoever is disturbed by the crease being seen at the angle. I believe that future improvement in technology will eliminate the crease entirely, and that will be superb. 28:31 The charging time for premium quality phones battery shouldn't be more than fifty minutes in 2024. It is a major plus to have flagship quality camera on foldables, if they are secondary flagship it still will be appreciated.

Bought a Pixel Fold to try, traded it in against the ZFold 6. I'm happy with the 6...I miss my Open though. It's currently being fixed by OnePlus (apparently that takes weeks and weeks) I may pick this Xiaomi. Seems like it's the ACTUAL upgrade from last years devices.
As a Samsung knight, you can't deny it. Expect by expect, this destroys the Fold 6. The only good things the Fold has over this are the software, which is still best in class IMO, and the S Pen support. If this were sold in the US, Samsung would be in big trouble.
I'm running clean and quick Android 15 beta on Google Pixel Fold with AI, and would never go back to Samsung's UI web of software "candy", which has more to do with appearance, over anything to do with with productivity. Running the sunshine of pure clean vanilla Android shows just how bloated Samsung is of software fluff. The only meaningful software app they have is Dex, which I don't need because I have a real laptop (as everyone does) for actual Windows desktop work.
I passed up on the Fold 6 and ordered the Mix 4 with the carbon back.
Korea is USA friend and also Samsung has exclusive Google features.

I'm not sure, Cuz... I've been a fan of Xiaomi. They make a lot of really good products. However, I'm not sure how thin and light equals build quality? My main issue with folding phones in general is their potential fragility. Remember that fold/ unfold test the first Galaxy Fold was subjected to? I'd like to see a test like that with these new breed thinner, lighter folding phones.
Floss, I prefer the outer display of my Z Fold 5 over the S4 ultra. I think the look of the Z fold 6 is what separates itself from the competition and make it unique. The trademark thing about Samsung is innovation. They got that in spades.

I bought the fold 5 at launch for the software and because of all the promotions and trade ins it cost me less than half but with the available options today I don't think I would have bought a Samsung foldable, they are good but the competition is getting better.
💥💥Step your game up Samsung. I just saw an article from digital trends titled Samsung is starting to fall behind in the foldable race. They mentioned companies like xiaomi and vivo, OnePlus, oppo, Google and Motorola.
The people saying they like the outer display on the fold 6 never used these other folds with the wider outer display.
If they used these other folds with the wider out of display they'll have a different opinion.

Never made a video request to the man the myth and the legend Floss before, but it’d be cool to see him make a video ranking his top 10 or 5 wireless over the ear headphones for 2024. I trust him with all my bigger purchases and he’s the reason I finally decided to get a Fold 6 this year and try something different, but I feel like it’s been a hot minute since he’s made a Headphones video. Need to finally upgrade from my Sony WH-1000XM4s that I got a couple years ago.
One handed use is the reason people prefer samsung outer displays. Its incredibly simple. If i need a bigger display then ill open it up lol.
Pixel Fold is even more easier to use one handed. I can easily reach the top menu bar with my thumb to pull down for accessing notifications.

Android Auto is kinda a hit for me…. Everything was looking great. That IR blaster is just gold. I miss my older phones that had it. Such a major loss ditching it.
I'm a little slow, but does that mean if I wanted to connect this phone to my car, it won't work since it has no android auto.
