- Exhaust sound clips of my 2006 3.6L VR6 Passat with a resonator delete. The rest of the car and exhaust is stock. This car is a 2006 4-Motion, which has a dual exit exhaust at the rear. The car has stock cats. This setup has great VR6 sound without being too loud or raspy and is very inexpensive to do. This video has sounds from a cold start, warm start up, revs, cruising under normal driving conditions, hard acceleration to redline and downshifting.

Wow i cant believe it sounds like this with just a resonator delete. Most cars dont even sound that good without resonators.
I know they sound great! 90% of why I bought this car was the exhaust note

What is written on the muffler tips? Are those really stock mufflers? Why do the have writting on them? Whats written on them?

Actually i just did a res delete and it doesnt sound this good. Dont know what should i do to it. Mines a 3.6 aswell. On low rpms its ok but higher it just sounds the same as before
Magnaflow muffler
I deleted the suitcase and 2 rear mufflers on my 08 Wagon... I'm thinking about installing a Flowmaster muffler where the suitcase was because of the droan.
Did you ever do it? I just deleted my suitcase resonator and replaced mufflers with hooker aerochamber ones which are straight through not chambered. It got rid of a lot of the wookie noise as far as what i hear in cabin with windows down anyways.
But im surprised how much drone just that gave me. And i want to take off more for loudness but scared of too much drone. I may replace my last 2 remaining resonators after cats with glass packs and put some chambered mufflers(borla or magnaflow probably)
@@flute136 just removing the 3 mufflers was a good decision for me...to me the slight drone at low speed is brief but tolerable....the sound is great.
@@audiwankenobi361 straight pipe would lose the chambered muffler sound right? So basically its already what i have kinda except probably louder than a little less dampening from the exhaust gases entering the side channels in my mufflers
@@flute136 I think you're right with your guess. But I only followed the recommendation of the shop that did the work.
@@flute136 side note: when I put the car in manual mode but let it up shift by itself it does a DSG style fart while shifting from 1st to 2nd.
I own a R36 wagon and it sounds nowhere near as this. Even with a cat delete.

It isn’t unfortunately! They didn’t make a DSG B6 Passat here in the US
Not unfortunate to me at all I own a passat cc 3.6L 4motion 2010 and all the videos online that I could find always include that dsg fart sound (which sound wicked to me) but I wanted to ear what MY car would sound like without the center suitcase

@@theexhaustsourceI did it man! my local mecanic did it for me for a grand total of 115$ usd and its all welded up professionally . The change in sound is very suddle but I like it
