- She went from growing up in a council house in South Wales to releasing some of the most iconic songs of all time. Bonnie Tyler’s rise to fame would sound like a fairytale if it wasn’t all true. And now, for the first time, the Grammy-nominated songstress is sharing her fascinating journey in her new memoir ‘Straight from the Heart’. She joins us to tell us about the defining moments that launched her career and why Whintey Houston asked her for an autograph.

So refreshing to hear a celebrity acknowledging her ghostwriter. Nowadays when they put out an autobiography they all pretend to be writers. Bonnie is one of the most honest celebrities on earth.
Honest and humble - inspiring
And they lie about writing their own songs too.
She is one of a kind. And so funny. And I like hat she mentioned her ghostwriter by name. Usually artists who pretend to write autobiographies all themselves don't do that. Bonnie is a sincere, down to earth mega star. For so many decades now....
I never forget when i was in the hospital at 6 years old 1978 and a girl in the bed next to mine had a freestyle with Bonnie Tyler and Its a heartache and she borrowed it to me it was so amazing and i have loved Bonnie Tyler since then ❤
I’m of the older generation and Bonnie (Gaynor Sullivan née Hopkins) is one year older than me…. I remember her singing when she first started…”It’s a Heartache” in 1977….I love her husky voice…and I also remember the classic with Shakin Stevens “It’s a Rockin Good Way”…she has sung with Meatloaf, Rod Stewart and so many others….one of Wales finest..❤️🎶🇦🇺🇦🇺

For a lady, she has a voice as strong and gravely as Rod Stewart. That's not an insult but a genuine compliment. Great voice, seems a nice normal person also. I could listen to her stories for hours

I remember Bonnie from way back in 1977 when she came and performed at the Hagley country club, which is just up the lane from where i live. It was a huge honour to have a huge star perform so close to where i live. she's great.
