    Just printed this out and going to give it a try and do a video on it myself. Thank you for the stl file. I normally mess around with mag loop antennas but love verticals.

      Awesome, thank you! I'm aiming for part 3 by Thursday, that will quickly cover building the 3D parts in FreeCAD. I'll share the complete FreeCAD project file of all the parts I designed so anyone interested can print and/or improve on them. Cheers!

      @@W0KNI Excellent. I built it.. I've been building up the hype on my channel. When I get the first video out, I will be linking them to your videos and files plus giving you a shoutout. I am in the process of designing one that instead of using screws and nuts, uses anderson powerpole connectors for the radials and the antenna wire. Antenna works great though. I got 40/20/17/15 and interestingly enough, 6m.

    Hey Stephen, new subscriber. Very cool project. I plan on using your STL file to use with my jackite pole. Thanks for the info and the video.

      Hey Kyle, thanks for watching and the comment. If you're up for FreeCAD, I've got the complete project file in a link within the description of my "How-to Using FreeCAD..." video. Feel free to modify for your needs! ruclips.net/video/vxj7vjFRXH0/видео.html

    Hey Steve, Nice design. I think I'll give it a try. I've been using my Jackite pole with 4 elevated radials and an Icom AH-2 tuner and it works OK, but it would be nice to leave the tuner home. I'm up in Hillsboro and like to fly into back country strips and play radio the more I can leave home the better. I wonder if you could add 80M using radiator with a loading coil. It would be narrow, but would give you another reliable band.

      Hey Marc, thank you! Thanks for stopping by. I'm thinking about an 80M solution too, and inserting a loading coil might help reduce the foot print needed to pull off 80M. Now you got me thinking! Thanks for the input, 73 W0KNI.

    Hey Stephen! I finally got myself a telescopic pole I was wondering have you ever considered making a ground plate/element plate that would accommodate 6 or 7 bands - I would really love one like that if you’ve got an idea for a design

    • @W0KNI
      @W0KNI  3 года назад

      Not really, it sounds cool however you will find that due to coupling you will start tuning out your other bands the more elements you add. Its an interesting experiment you might try in your spare time.

    Don't you need a 4:1 balun for the vertical antenna? 73

    Hi Steve. I'm attempting to adapt your pole base to fit my mast. I measured the diameter of my mast and it is 42.42mm vs your 34.89mm. Would you recommend I just cut the bigger hole or would you scale the whole part until the hole was 42.42mm? I'm leaning towards scaling in the x and y planes the down side is the bolt holes and SO-239 holes scale as well.

      Update: I just went ahead and made the center hole larger. It looks like the clearances should still be ok.

      Hey Joe - sounds like you figured it out. Yes, I would just enlarge the main post hole to the size you need. Have fun!

      @@W0KNI I don’t have a printer yet so I sent it for printing via Treatstock.com. All the antenna parts plus 4 of the shock cord hooks was 24 dollars plus 9 for shipping. Will let you know how it turns out

    Very nice antenna. I too have a 3-D printer and love to make things. I would be curious to learn how the PLA holds up in the sunlight?

      Hey John thank you and thanks for watching. 3D printing is great! I love creating things. So far the PLA has stood up to water and Sun however I don’t leave the antenna up so hard to say how well it would hold up. Cheers! 73 de W0KNI

    Why making an intro so big? This is youube not a tv channel we don't need all that intro crap. All this intros in videos on youtube are just good to take space on the servers.

      LOL that's a good one. I agree with you and i make some very short sometimes because I get tired of watching it! I'll put the longer "intro" at the end for viewers to skip. Thanks for stopping by!
