I just love the way all these people immediately say ‘No!’ even when they have no idea whether you can or not. These people in power must love everybody coming to them to request permission? It must make them feel more powerful. Honestly!
Some of the shop assistants in major supermarkets during Covid restrictions were evidence of that. Showed their true colours 🙄
Where do you think this thinking came from? People used to love (and hate) cameras, but they didn't think there was a law against being filmed.
I fear the nice guy in reception may have landed himself in hot water if his superiors get to see your video. I don't think he was even aware he was being recorded, had he known, he might not have said most of what he did. Hope he's ok.

I imagine if they continue the Work Your Way program, 3M will have to consider what to do with the building. If it's too much to repair and the capacity isn't needed, maybe they should downsize to a more suitable building and save quite a bit of money.
What a baffling interaction. Started with the usual "not allowed" rubbish, then immediately turned it right around and had a friendly chat, and disclosed a bit more than really he ought to. Why start with a kneejerk "refusal" then? 🤷♀
Perhaps he was just ‘reading the situation’, then realised DJ was sound and not a threat. Not really sure why you think it’s an issue? It ended nicely, so all good!

I think he was just caught on the hop, but showed his true colours pretty quickly...a lovely bloke, trying to do his job against useless management and personally happy with the video and drone and concerned that the useless management might have a problem with it

Buildings aren't built to last anymore. Think of the carbon footprint, if you're are into that. That bloke was nice and polite.
Architecture school is an arms race to the bottom these days - whoever meat rides and produces the nicest looking boxy models gets the top grades.

Working from home is awesome. Imagine how much companies can save on real estate, power, infrastructure and parking, not to mention how much we save the environment when we don't have to commute, time used for travel, land area that can be used for nature and parks, more people can live in smaller communities etc. There's hundreds of pros, and only a few cons (some of them just myths).

The company I work for implemented a two days a week in the office minimum policy, it's widely ignored and out of 65 staff there are never more than 10 in the office at any one time. Management seem to have finally got their heads around working from home and turn a blind eye.

It’s worrying that there’s a thousand capacity, and only eighty on a typical day occupying the building. This makes me think they may even close it down and just rely on people working from home! As a Company they will see this as a justification. I see this as a slippery slope, and eventually the Company could cease to exist, which is a shame really, because 3M are a massive Company, known by many as producers of top quality products!!

After Facilities man was so free with possibly sensitive 3M information, due to his loose lips, one 'ship' that might be in danger of sinking is his 'relationship' with his superiors who would be none too happy to see it broadcast.

Given the claimed age, although I suspect it is older, plus the very low occupancy I suspect the bulldozers will be arriving before long. HP had their headquarters opposite and their building was a similar age. That too has been bulldozed and replaced with multiple smaller units.
