Excellent video! I instantly went and purchased these door stills after watching your video and installed them today without a hiccup! Thanks for taking the time to show people how to install these, probably wouldn’t have bought this product if it wasn’t for your video.
the butt connectors are heat shrinkable it will hold the wires more securely and lessen the chance of the wires loosing connection nice job on the install
Do you have to strip the ends of the grey wire after it’s cut in half, or do you just crimp the connectors to the ends? I’m going to install mine as soon as possible. They’re waiting in the garage for when I have a couple hours available.
@@LennyK Oh Man, it looks so much better. I think without your Video i would never see that this could be possible. My Camaro is red too, 1ss1le, 2019 Model Really, thank you very much man!
Thanks for the installation video. My dome lights doesn't turn on when the door is open after the installation, can only turn on by press the switch. Is it suppose like that ?
I just watched the whole video and there is a problem with the way this is wired!!! Lenny put positive wire from the illuminated door sills in SERIES WITH THE GRAY WIRE, this is wrong!!! It needs to be hooked up in PARALLEL, not series!!!! May it work? possibly, but if the LED's have lower current draw, or if one LED should fail, you'll have absolutely lose all interior lights!! I put a spade lug on the end of the door sill wires together and slid it under the positive, gray wire terminal so its a PARALLEL connection! That way, if you have a single component fail. all others will work; not true of a series circuit! in other words, ALL THREE WIRES SHOULD BE TOGETHER. I've been an electrician for more than 35 years, trust me on this one. ;) In a series circuit, (like shown here) current is always the same for every component. but voltage drops. In a PARALLEL circuit, voltage is constant to every component, and current may be different. So, in other words, all of these components are designed to work with 12 volts, DC. That's not what you will have in series. To compensate for the voltage drop in a series circuit, the components will draw more current, in an attempt compensate, and really stress the components. Good luck and try to wire this in PARALLEL and I'll promise that you'll not have this issue.
did the interior lighting stay on when you spliced the wires? I did mine but now my interior lights won't turn off at all, door closed and locked, driving etc
Installed mine and check engine lighted up... did anyone had the same incident? Not sure if disconnecting the battery was suppose to be done at first. Now I have to bring to the dealership.
I know nothing to do with wiring sills but I mean I just add extra strip light on my dash RS But keep a light on all time, if u know which wire I connect with, like when I start the car turn on not ON all time
The connection that sills use will dim after the a few seconds once the door is closed so I wouldn't be using the same connection. You would need a constant source that stays on once you turn the car on. I would say if anything, use the cigarette lighter wire.
So this is power when the door is opened, but does it have power while the car is running and off? I'm looking to use this power as another power option for lighting
I bought my Camaro used with only 16k miles. I just noticed the passenger side plate is not the same as the driver side. Now I have to unravel the mystery.

My pleasure. Glad I could help!
How much did you spend ?
Thank you very much! I got these for Christmas and was wondering how they wired up. Appreciate your time - great video!
My pleasure, glad I could help.
Mine were just delivered today. Installing Saturday. Thanks Lenny. I appreciate the video. 👊
My pleasure. Glad I could help 👍🏻
Mine came with them installed from the factory but I always wondered what the process was like for those looking to upgrade. Thanks for the insight !
Thank you for this! I’ve been waiting for someone to do this and show me how to remove the sills. Awesome Job! Came out clean
I am glad it was helpful for you :)
Wow you have made that interior into a luxury car. Those look so good. Ill need to get this for sure. 😎
Haha not quite a Mercedes but its getting a little too comfortable 😀
Are you planning to install the door panel LED lights in the future?
I am soooo doing this ! Looks awesome
MojaveKY thanks. They do make a difference for the interior for sure.
huge IMO
Thanks Lenny, I just installed the same sills on my 1LE and your video was a big help!!
Totally Screwed glad I was able to help 👍🏻
Already ordered mine and definitely will use your video as a guide thanks a lot!!!
My pleasure ✌️

If you are using the same crimp style connectors then yes, once you splice the gray wire, you will have to strip the ends.
Can this be done without the harness that comes with it?
Hey,How do you know which is ground and which is hot on the connecter wires?
Glad I ordered this from the factory!! I hate taking things apart on a car!
Hey Bro, i let do this today.
It works perfectly.
Thanks from Germany
Glad it worked for you.

Love it man. Been wanting this for my camaro as well. Simple install as well.
Mr. Lee Thanks. The install is not bad at all, but definitely improves the look
Lenny K sweet addition to the car for sure.
Those look great Lenny.
Juan Vazquez thank you.
Thank you for the install video !! Any chance you’ll do one with the door Interior lighting ?
Did you have to supply your own ground bolt or was it already there for another ground?
I used the existing ground
where do they buy it?
Very nicely done. Do you feed the passenger harness through the footwells/behind the shifter? New sub...
That looks great. Thanks for the video.
Thank you!
Hi
how you connect the gray wire to the connecter? I have to use welding? (minute 8:03)
No welding. This is just squeeze connectors.
Are these RGB like the spectrum lights or just white?

Tim Mack you should make a video on it my guy

crazyduck714 light stays on for only a short while then turns off.
everything went back to normal, thank you! keep up the great content!!
Thank you. Will do!
Hey buddy did you think those could fit on a 5th gen although 🤔 ?
Installed mine and check engine lighted up... did anyone had the same incident? Not sure if disconnecting the battery was suppose to be done at first. Now I have to bring to the dealership.
Liked the video and was wondering about the music. Who is it? Very cool.
I bought door sill
But I dot have the extra harness for conect the door sill were can buy the harness separe???
Can someone tell me please
I am not sure where or if you can get the harness by itself.
Does this void your car warranty?
which wire I have to use to connect extra light on dash when U-turn light on the outside
Not really sure what you mean. Dash light has nothing to do with the wiring for the sills.

thats what i use for now but look ugly , i need hide wire thanks any way
Cool video but where did you get that illuminate from and how much did it cost
Thanks. Here is the link where I bought it: bit.ly/2MON5y0
Thanks
Super helpful thanks man anyone who dislikes owns a mustang
My pleasure. Glad I could help :)
Matt Smith I own a mustang and a camaro. Wish camaro had side mirror illumination (called pony projection) like the mustangs do.
So this is power when the door is opened, but does it have power while the car is running and off? I'm looking to use this power as another power option for lighting
This only has power when door is open.
So when the door is closed it cuts all power?
@@TheBrickedWall Correct
Is same the connection for Camaro 1LT 3600cc? Thanks
I believe it should have the same connection, but I would doublecheck with your dealer.
Question are the lights always on or will they use the ambient light sensor to power cycle?
As lights dim in the car so do the sills.
Where did you get this from?

No, but they have similar options for Gen 5

Lol I did this forgot to connect the ground plug while testing and was so confused why it wasn’t working😂

Double check your wiring and ground.
I was wondering what happened to Walter white
HAHAHA . 👍😂😂
When you have nice door sills but the passenger steps on it 😒
