Hello Tiekka! 💗 I would like to ask a question about my Achilles. I am about to take ballet classes super soon and so I started doing easy ballet stretched for feet, so I can have them more flexibile and they are really helping me out. But, lately, I realized that when I go to plie, on my right feet I can feel slight pain at the back of the feet right at the place upper my heel. I think it's also important to mention that I dont feel ANY PAIN OR ANYTHING while activites as walking, running, my feet is just completely okay, it doesn't hurt even while doing other sport activities, not even while stretching, or doing squat, it seems like it kinda hurts only while being at specific position - like when I do plie. I also wanna say that those stretched aren't any advanced stretches, becouse I don't wanna do anything without a teacher, just absolute basics such as going into relevé and stuff like this. As I said, I can feel slight pain while doing plie only. It's not like it hurts so much, just as I said - SLIGHT PAIN and I feel it at right feet only. So, can it just mean that my feet is just overloaded - becouse I haven't been doing feet stretched until now? I have also checked on Google and I found article about Achilles Tendonis saying this: Tight and/or weak calf muscles, jumping without being fully warmed up, chronic rolling in and not putting heels down in successive relevés or when landing jumps. (I dont feel any pain while doing relevé). I know you probably won't be able to know why exactly is that but I tryied to describe you my "problem" as much as I could and maybe if you know how I can get rid of this slight pain at my feet?💗 Edit: I tryied to do some plies like minute ago and I figure out that I probably had bad posture - so I think my feet was sloping way too forward and so when I kept doing my plies like this it maybe could develop slight pain as long as it's incorrect way of doing plies. I tryied to correct my posture and I literally didn't feel any pain, just sometimes while GOING INTO THE PLIE but I think correcting that, posture could help? Also I though maybe it would be gfod if I just wouldn't do feet stretched for a while so my foot can heal quicker!! 💗 Thank you so much for reading and for replying!! 💗
Hi! I'm sorry to hear you've been having pain in your right achilles. It sounds like it's an alignment issue... Without seeing your form, I cannot say for sure, but most often the tailbone pokes back and the knees and ankles roll forward. Sometimes the chest also dips forward and contributes to misalignment. My guess is that you need to make sure the ENTIRE heel is down in your demi plié--especially the back of the heel, as this will help keep your knees turned out over your toes. Keep the pelvis over the feet at all times with the core engaged and the chest open with a tall spine. Remember, it's really, really important to start out small and master the basic movements and positions with proper form. Ballet should not be painful (except for the kind of soreness that comes from building muscle tone). Good technique will actually prevent aches and pains! Consider trying my Ballerina Body BASIC program, as it has so many video tutorials and guides that outline each step in detail. I highly recommend it for getting a good start with your ballet technique! www.everydayballet.com/become-a-member/ I hope the above helps! Thanks for reaching out and stay safe and well!
@@everydayballet Thank you so so much for your reply, I'll definitely try to improve my posture, your description that tailbone pokes back and knees and ankle rolls forward is actually super accurate to my problem, I realized that my tail bone really kinda pokes back. Thank you once more and I wish you a wonderful day!
I do have exactly the same little issue. But i have to mention even if I am flexible, my Achilles is not...my heels want to come off the floor quiet early. So i practice very gently, slow and stay in position. Is there a propper practice for the flexibility of the Achilles? I do really enjoy your classes. You are a wonderful teacher and all is so very well explaint. Thank you so much 🙏💗
@@SK-eb5bk Hi, I wrote this comment 2 months ago but I started taking ballet classes since then but I didn't feel any pain in my feet even like month before, it went away after I improved my posture becouse I think it was becouse of bad posture. When you start having good posture, it may hurt a bit from the beggining but as you will make it habit to stand like that, it won't hurt anymore and so won't your achilles while going into plie, at least when posture is the matter. 💗
Thank you so much! I don’t know where you are, but I do have an online program with livestream and prerecorded classes that you can join if you’d like to train with me. 🥰🩰✨
Actually, you’ll get a deeper stretch along the back of the leg and underside of the hip with a flexed foot. Of course you can point your toes, too, but flexing the foot is very common for this kind of stretch. 🩰💕✨
Hope you go from strength to strength with your ballet teaching.❤
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏🥰🩰
I’m a figure skater, but I love your routines. They really help with flexibility, and overall make me feel better and looser :)
Oh I’m so glad you enjoy them! 👏🏻💖⛸🩰😊
