    Let me know in the comments what you would like to see scaped next in the fish room. there are three empty aquariums and I have too many ideas, so lets hear what you want to see!

    Love the scape, Matt. Especially when you put the pygmy corydoras in. Can't go wrong there! A very interesting choice of tetra species, one I've never seen alive before. As far as I know, the species name is still Leptagoniates pi, and, according to Vari, the specific epithet refers to the unusual shape of the swimbladder, which can be seen through the fish - it is a glass tetra after all. Yer gotta put some hockey sticks in there.

MD may put out more "big" videos on large setups, but your channel is like visiting a friend who loves fish as much as we do. Thanks also for putting all the plant names in the info so we don't have to try to remember them at the end of the video. Great work!

    Great scape. Not sure if you knew but if you have a large enough pot you can boil that wood and similar for 30 to 45 minutes and it will stay sunken without glue in most cases. Of course depending on the wood density it could take longer. It will also get rid of some of the tannins. Just make sure to let it cool before using.

    Well done, big fan of both you and MD :) Glad to see you joining forces, one question you could both answer for me, how long do these planted tanks last, I mean for supporting plant growth, or does the substrate need to be renewed with root tabs periodically?

    • @FishShopMatt
      @FishShopMatt  8 месяцев назад

      They can last quite a while with no extra substrate nutrients, it ultimately depends on species of plant kept and how quickly they use up the food source. But most of the time you should get at least a year.

    If you wash it very thoroughly tho it’s ok but does raise your kh and gh a fair bit in my experience.

The shop called them "X-ray Tetra" and they mostly looked like this but their eyes were completely black, it literally looked like they had none, just empty eye sockets. I told the people when buying them that I wanted the fish that "look like they have no soul". 😅 I really like that kind. The eye feature just makes them so fun.
