- Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says a 2-year-old girl has died and her parents, Regis Johnson and Ahronda Tillman, have been arrested after they allegedly starved their child to death.

I hear the pain in his voice. This is beyond heartbreaking.
My youngest is 7. She was born at 4.4 pounds. She was a tiny little thing because she was short (I am only 5'2" my husband 5' 9") but as she got bigger even though she was small with her cubby cheeks and little chunky thighs in pictures you would think she is a fat little chunky baby, but reality she was a peanut. To not feed a baby then toddler is just horrific!!! A 2 year old should be eating EVERY 2 HOURS! breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner!!! This case brought me to tears.
This Sheriff is the very best in the Nation because he has an incredibly genuine heart and sincere motivation for honorable law enforcement.

@Tah BOO Not odd at all.....So he gets all the attention compared to what? There are other sheriffs that do press conferences in a similar manner. People are interested in knowing what is going on in their community. Many sheriff offices want to be transparent and share their information. Nothing odd at all. The sheriff in Santa Rosa is also very popular.

As hard as it is to hear and see these horrible things, it's important to be aware of them. Why didn't the relatives or neighbors inquire regarding the baby? Someone should've reported these people. Not sure if I can really call them people.... I'm just so sad about this.

My first child was barely 9 lbs at 6 months, and we all knew something was terribly wrong. She was diagnosed with a genetic illness, and when I asked for a prognosis, one of the nurses patted my hand and said “Well, I wouldn’t buy her any birthday presents.” That was over 40 years ago, and she is a testament to what good care can do. She has had a normal life, and we are so blessed to still have her around!

I cried so hard when I read about a baby found dead in a house and both of her parents dead too, with needles in their arms, thinking about the hell she went through
So sad, and sickening! As someone who wanted. and tried to have a child for 20 some years, and finally have one, I just can't imagine what this poor baby went through. As a mother and a nurse, this makes me feel physically sick. When i became disabled because of my back which now has 16 screws in it, I went without MANY things so my kids could eat. I have NO tolerance for people who could do this. Not when there are food banks, food stamps, WIC, churches who would help you and people who would gladly share whatever they have.
If the parents were eating, there's NO excuse whatsoever.

I’m 55 and due to becoming disabled in my early 30’s i never got married or had kids. When i see something like this i first feel sad but then my blood boils. I wish i had the opportunity to raise kids but life took that from me instead of taking it from these 2 animals.

I am the mother of 3 grown kids. My children always came first and even now i still look out for them and make sure they doing well. It breaks my heart seeing this. I just do not understand that type of cruelty. These demons deserve the death penalty!

I have a precious 17 month old. He’s a happy, healthy, chunky, talking, walking, thriving little bundle of joy. It makes my heart so heavy to think they wouldn’t want that for their baby girl.

We must protect the children be it being CASA volunteers, helping single moms and dads to just giving them food and clothes and even listening to kids talk about their day. I am finding that children need toiletries ie: toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo soap and feminine hygiene product. So many children are going without.

There are some truly evil people in this world. Just last year in South Korea, a pair of foster parents killed their adopted baby girl (1 year old) by jumping onto her body. The baby didn't die on impact, so they sent her to daycare where she slowly died a painful death from organ failure. The monsters had apparently been abusing and torturing her for a long time. Worst part is, the murderers were only sentenced to 2-3 years in jail. Just horrifying.

Every time I hear about one of these cases, my mind starts to race and I think Good God, as we are raging about this case, there are other children right now being treated in the same exact way or worse..

The use of the plastic blocks as a visual prop is brilliant. Those blocks are toys this child never got the chance to experience. Shame on the parents. If you don't want the child or can't cope, there are avenues to ask for help, or to put the child into care for adoption.

I'm willing to bet that in the VAST majority of cases in which parents kill their children, they had been using or completely depending upon public assistance. Johnson's Great Society set up a system in which people came to believe that they were OWED something for nothing. Not even the proper care of their children. I'm sorry for that the police had to encounter such an awful tragedy. I was a pediatric ER nurse for many years. Not many people understand how hard it is to see children who are gravely I'll or who have died. The people in that town need to hear that we care about how they are dealing with this.

As a kid hunger is intense when you get home from school and all you can think about is what your mom has made for you once you get home. As a baby that suffered and couldn't even tell someone how hungry she was that was pure torture. Even as an adult I can go like half the day without eating but, that makes me desperate to eat. I couldn't imagine slowly dying over a period of 2 years because I wasnt being fed. Its a miracle she lived that long. She didnt want to give up. 😔
Not to mention a child in that poor condition probably never had attention either. In that babys mind eating was probably the only pleasure it ever got to experience. Like an animal who is left in a room without food for days at a time which is bad enough, but this is a helpless child. I think i would love to be the excecutioner, i sadly believe i would enjoy it.

I think after the first few weeks without food, her brain probably wasn't even working efficiently enough to process & register the feeling of hunger.

Wtf. I can't stand the people who harm children. I do everything for my kids. I work so hard so we can homeschool them and give them an amazing first few years lifting them up in the things they enjoy. We are not perfect but damn, I can't imagine ever withholding food from my kids. As a former Chef they eat better than most ever will...This is purely heartbreaking. Evil walks the Earth and he comes to kill, steal and destroy.

It really offends me when people start to find excuses for what these despicable people have done i.e mental health, the system completely let this poor little angel die just imagining her screaming for food breaks my heart until she no longer had the strength to cry... Horrendous..
I can't imagine the hunger pains this poor child went through. She probably stopped crying and trying to express that she was hungry a long time before she passed, because of how weak she must have been. Only traces of fecal matter in her intestines shows how EVIL those two (can't call them people) demons were. Parents are supposed to love unconditionally their children. Prison is to good for them. I sometimes believe that some punishments from the past, from the East would be acceptable to bring to the Western world in certain situations. This is one of those situations.

This sheriff does a really great job with transparency and communication of information. The visual aid of what the baby weighed at birth, their first check up, and what she should’ve weighed was very powerful.

Yet, people like this will get life without parole and get fat eating and sleeping at tax payers expense. Right now, I feel that they should get the same sentence they gave the child. Locked up in isolation and starved to death. This was torture beyond what any innocent child should have suffered.

I have really been impressed with Sheriff Grady Judd after watching numerous of his press conferences. Some of the things he says sometimes, referring to the McDonald puns…”He’s a McNut”, etc…can be a little over the top, but I’ve always felt they came from a good place! However, when the reporter was asking about DCFS possibly dropping the ball, (in my opinion, AGAIN!) I feel his rush to stand up for them, claiming they deal with 💯’s of cases and do good work, a little suspect! ( 11:41) I’ve unfortunately heard about way too many cases where DCFS, CPS, or whatever you want to call them, have dropped the ball….MANY ⚽️🎾🏀⚾️🎱 MANY times and each time you’re dealing with children being hurt and a lot of them loosing their lives! So, the fact that, yet again, DCFS’ name has been brought up in this case is not surprising and heartbreaking 💔 to say the least! The other issue I had with what Sheriff Grady Judd said was that the Physician did what he/she was supposed to do. Well, I strongly disagree with that! When DCFS was notified about the abuse, they followed up and for a short time they checked in with the family, but when they were “doing what they should have been doing all along” and feeding the child and the child started gaining weight, DCFS said they were done with the case and the only recommendation was they follow up and continue taking the child to the Dr. When the parents stopped taking the child to the Dr.’s office and the Dr. said they couldn’t get ahold of the parents anymore to be able to check on the child, the Dr. didn’t call DCFS and make another report saying they are no longer able to get in touch with the parents! The Dr.’s office just dropped the ball as well! Two years went by and the Dr.’s office never reported to DCFS that they weren’t seeing the child and to me, that is terrible and again, I disagree with the Sheriff when he says that the Dr. did nothing wrong! The fact that the Dr. did NOTHING IS what’s wrong and they had an obligation to notify that they were no longer seeing that child!
I realize this case is a bit old, but I’m just hearing about it, so I will be looking for more information about the outcome, but I bet one thing will be the same and that is guaranteed, DCFS dropped the ball again and a child that could have been saved lost their life!
Also, please understand that I’m not giving the monsters that murdered their child a pass! They absolutely, in my opinion, qualify for the Death Penalty if you want my true feelings, so let that be known! I’m just extremely tired of agencies who are supposed to be there for children who are unfortunately brought into this world by these monsters, to NOT be monsters themselves!

I remember Judd's 'Eat a moon pie, quit murdering people' statement, I found the humor in his words. Now I see the empathy and compassion in his words. It brings me to tears that anyone could do this to any child, let alone their own flesh and blood child and his words bring the horror to life to everyone who were to listen. He is right in his anger and shock that as a parent and grandparent, the acts these monsters had done was so heartbreaking and sickening. Polk County has a good man sheriff in their hands. Unfortunately, it's rare a man like this in power anywhere.

She is not in heaven she is in the grave. No one dies then go straight to heaven or hell. Heaven would be a sad place if it was so because people would be looking down on their family hurting and suffering here on earth, in heaven there will be no crying no sorrow no heartache but love and happiness no more crying.

Two men in my family are in law enforcement one is a homicide detective and the other was in narcotics they have seen some bad things
Ya kind of like the grand PA that found a suitcase in his property the other day, in Indiana. He called the cops and opened it, there was a child the same age as his grand kids. He doesn't deserve that.
