  • In this video we will take you through the process of how we prevent anaesthetic and surgical complications during operations. During surgeries things can go wrong on the surgical side (bleeding, injury to surrounding organs) and anaesthetic side (allergic reactions, drug interactions etc.), both of which can result in patient's death. The risk of fatal complications during routine neutering is between 1:1000 (spay) to 1: 10,000 (castration), but the risk is higher for high-risk patients and during longer or more complex surgeries.
We will show you the safety check-points we have in our practice at the:
    1. Pre-operative assessment
    2. Morning admission
    3. Morning 'huddle' with the meeting
    4. Anaesthetic monitoring and ventilator
    5. Recovery period
    6. Follow-up
