Thankyou for this!! Got confused over this stitch with my project I'm doing, but it seems fairly simple. I always have the temptation to miss the loop part and tighten the stitch like a normal stitch. Thankyou, you helped me immensely! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
i tried a test blanket stitch but it did not turn out. so, referred to your wonderful video...went and tried it again the correct way..and it worked like a charm. Your added extra helpful hints like anticlockwise etc made it easy to follow. Your video is the best i have found for this stitch. I am very grateful!
OMG!!! Thank you so much for sharing this it helped me a lot for my test tomorrow. Hopefully I do it well I mean I have to right because the instructions you gave are so understanding
Thank you! I'm a 33 year old man in the UK, the only stitch I'd ever learned before was a tacking stitch that my mother showed me once. Now I'm older and I want to put patches on hoodies and every friend I spoke to said "do a blanket stitch" but I'm autistic and none of the descriptions I read made sense! This video was incredibly clear to listen to, well demonstrated and easy to understand!
There is a stitch called invisible stitch, but usually for patches you'd use whip stitch in a thread that matches what you're sewing so it blends in :)
Can I use this stitch to appliqué a Dresden Plate, done in cotton, onto a cotton square? How many embroidery threads do you use to do the stitch? Thank you for this tutorial. It’s just what I was looking for.😊
I always go through the loop - same on every stitch - but I think it doesn't look like I am sometimes because the thread happens to fall in the right place so the needle automatically comes out on top of/through it :)
Thank you! I was getting into a right tizzy - but your tutorial,à plus remembering I am a lefty put me on the right path.
:D Glad you found it useful!
This could not be more perfect! Exactly the refresher I needed! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this... I have not done blanket stitch since I was at secondary school, which was over 50 yrs ago, brilliant
I'm glad it was helpful!

I don't see why not! I would probably use 3 threads, but it really depends. Test on a sample of your fabric first :)
Very clear and easy to follow. Thanks.
Thanks very much :)
thankyou for the info
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
A very good tutorial, however traditionally embroidery is not started with a knot, but a small double stitch on the back of the work.
Thanks :) True. If embroidering on a thin fabric I'd say it would be best not to use knots. I just feel a bit more 'safe' using knots to be honest.
Thank you
I noticed on some stitches you don’t slip the needle through the loop before tightening?
I always go through the loop - same on every stitch - but I think it doesn't look like I am sometimes because the thread happens to fall in the right place so the needle automatically comes out on top of/through it :)
Do we need to go over the loop for every stitch?
Not sure what you mean exactly, but every stitch you do the same :)
Also known as a “Penny” rug application...
Anti-clockwise? You mean counter-clockwise?
Same thing :)
Isiot
Took me a few goes but I got there
Well done!
