- So, we were recently given fawn....we are all super stoked about it and she is healthy and happy. we had to get a permit to take care of her until the wildlife recovery centers can take her. her mother was hit by a car, and our friend who is a conservation officer performed a C-section on the dead mother deer and saved the little fawn, that now runs around our yard happily.
Thanks Stu! here is the link to the CTV news video of Hazel.

"baby you're melting!" 😁how cute are these 3 sisters?😂🥰
Excellent video, the only thing I would recommend is to use a regular baby bottle instead because the cheap plastic ones are known for breaking down after multiple uses and can put harmful materials into the liquid, in this case, milk.
hm. yes makes sense. thanks!

thank you!!!!
Ok, my wild deer family & I are close, so this just tugs joyously @ the heart! *This message is a little long..lol..
I love the name Hazel!
I've been blessed to have spent over 40 years of my life amongst wildlife, nearly 25 or so years being close to wild deer..to be a part of each others lives as equals, sharing & learning from each other, not pets or patients, I have learned their ways, needs, language, and just how intertwined we can become with our world..rather than being spectators in wonder..my deer & I were like foreign exchange students..learning each other's ways by living, working, playing, & relaxing through our distinct "worlds" alongside each other. Whitetail Deer are amazing animals..I have an ENORMOUS project ahead of me to coalese and share.. it still blows my mind.. to understand & coordinate with wild friends, to do yardwork together to mutual benefit, for them to share forensic observations like a working K9 team, & shockingly to step up & foreward to defend me as a member of their group. The discernment & counter threat, to see the matriarch NOT bluffing.."MOM ISN'T WAITING for Dad to get home", that "MOM GLARE will IMPACT you without even having to touch you" effect.
Deer are not what we were taught, they are much more. We have so much to learn from them. My deer made an express point of learning humans. Their situational & behavioral discernment is amazing. For them to bed down around me & sleep, as I overwatched, to discover their development, their "training" by Momma, etc was amazing.
& the little wrinkle nosed sniffers are too cute..deer absorb everything, take note & plan..amazing tonwatch maturity progress & they become more aware, discerning..curiosity becomes their knowledge gathering tool, they identify patterns & routines and live by working alongside them..sense danger in changes that don't fit. They KNOW what doesnt fit, they're not just spookey-reactive.
They do what they do for reasons that work in their own world.
You're so lucky to take part & discover..
You missed the part of stimulating "the other end" so she doesn't get jammed up, & the why "diapers not needed" conversation😂 Part of fawn developmental stages..along with ZOOMIES, & power naps, keeping a low profile! Front & rear serviced, zoom, plop! Zzzzz..& grow!🥰 ..Then, all going well, one day, SHE'LL be a Momma, & have her own!❤
Loved this - thank you!
Awesome! You are amazing!
thank you!!! "D
