  • Testing Chopin's Minute waltz and Mozart's Turkish march on different street pianos. In this video are shown the wonderful and unique Bösendorfer Imperial and the Yamaha C3 (half-queue) and CFIII (concert grand). For some reason the CFIII was underperforming, it didn't produce a good sound, being too strident. So much so, that in the video you can see how the tone of the C3 seems much more pleasant and mellow than that of the CFIII 🤯 This video has been possible thanks to the Jesús Serra foundation and the event "Madrid is filled with pianos 2024". Please excuse any errors, as the recordings were live. I hope you enjoy it!

Another several performances well done! The staggered octave part at 4:57 near the end of the Turkish March I have to practice just that section several times itself before I can perform the whole song or my hand just fights me haha. Again, well done my friend!

Thank you very much! I struggled a bit with the beginning of the coda, with the first chord, to put the 4th finger in the natural A 😓

Have you heard the CFIII? Still wondering why it underperformed that way... 🤯

They just leave these pianos out in the street for anyone to play? They must move them from an inside location at night or during inclement weather? You’d never see these nice of pianos just out and about in the US

It's a yearly event conduced by a private foundation. They take out 10 pianos to the center of some cities in Spain, and I usually go that day to Madrid to play and also to listen. The "bad" part is that it is only for one day, like cinderella pianos 😄 And the weather was a bit rainy that day, but they installed blanket covers and large tents to protect them.
