I own both the LCD and OLED steam deck and my only regret is not buying the OLED sooner. I blame it on my decision to buy the legion go before the OLED was announced. I couldn’t justify to myself buying 2 handheld PCs so close to each other. But that screen, battery and lack of fan noise is just so good!
I bought the lcd version the year it came out and just recently picked up the oled version a couple weeks ago and wow this is the perfected steam deck for sure! I gave my lcd to my girlfriend so it worked out perfect she’s happy and I’m happy 😊 lol I also have a 14 inch laptop so I don’t miss out on any games and if I want ultra setting while gaming I just use the laptop so I think I have the perfect portable setup with both of them! 😎
What about the ROG Ally X? Also I use XBOX Gamepass. Can I get those games to run on the Steam Deck as well? (Ally etc. is no problem due to normal Windows installed)
It's free on epic, I have a guide on how to install that on the steam deck if you wanna check it out: ruclips.net/video/qlsX7bEoQVU/видео.htmlsi=l5Kp7PM1Ve706-4Q
It's the old Jsaux deck stand, but you can get the new model here: jsaux.com/products/anti-slip-stand-for-steam-deck-dock-sg0104 It's basically the same thing :)
I really badly want a SD OLED, but the performance is just not there. I really hope the SD2 will milk all possible advantages to get the best performance out of the 15W envelope, then i'm first in line fore one. Until then, the Ally X will do.
You think that until you have one, it can play 85% of games on the steam library no problem, the ones it can’t you can download ge force now and stream them through there or have a ps5 that’s what I do more and more companies are optimizing for the deck over competition cause they know what valve is doing and that their games will sell way more if optimized for the steam deck, I haven’t came across a game it couldn’t handle so far and I’ve played a lot haven’t even tweaked any settings before either, if a game says unsupported tho then I wouldn’t even try to download without looking at RUclips reviews if you wanna wait on sd2 that’s fine but it steer clear of anything windows I had an rog ally and the experience was forgettable
SD 2 isn’t coming out until 2-3 years no point waiting this isn’t Apple. Just enjoy what’s available right The ally x isn’t worth it to me, you can get a far more capable gaming laptop with a better cpu, same integrated graphics and with a dedicated graphics card like a 4060 for the same price. I found a ROG G14 laptop on sale $600 off with the savings I bought a steam deck oled.

Those last 3 things you mention in your last sentence are exactly why I'm ditching my Ayaneo 2 and getting the oled!
How do ya like the legion go? That giant screen seems awesome
I just ordered my oled steam deck yesterday! Can't wait!
Steam deck 2 needs:
- 100 watt battery
- PS5 level power
- Easily replaceable joysticks
- 8 inch bezeless OLED
You would get a full gym workout holding it for an hour 😆👍🏻
@@jamesgreen4150
That's a plus as well
You'd know which system a person owns based on their physique
@@thewipshow4141 walking around like one of delta squad from gears 😆
The joysticks are already pretty easy to replace.

You would need Windows Installed to run game pass games, or you can run them via cloud gaming
I got mine yesterday 🎉🎉 I have soo many ideas to realise. 😱 emudeck, my library, stepmania and other things ❤
@6:17 name of the game please? And is it available on steam?
Fall guys on epic games

I’m happy with my Steam Deck Oled.
