Amazing peaceful footage both at the cemetery and bridge.. appreciate how you see the beauty in both. Appreciate all you do and share in our beautiful state 😊👍🇺🇸
I grew up on Centerhill road and still own property just across the creek from where you were. It has been closed for going on 3 years now. The big building at the end of 62 where you stopped used to be a watermelon and cucumber packing house that my cousin owned.
How cool! What a shame that the cemetery isn't kept up a bit better. It was nice to see that someone did reinforce those old tombstones, but about 10 minutes with a weed-wacker and it'd be good to go!
Thanks for doing these videos, there are so many hidden gems when you slow down and take a look. My wife and I own and live in the house with the flag on Olive Branch Rd. It was really neat to see you explore the cemetery. Keep up the good work.
The opening started as a beautiful yet scary horror tour, STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER! That pulled pork from Smokin Joe's left me feeling hollow! I guess pulled pork is on the menu 4 Sunday, lol. Those big metal pipes are culverts, road improvement always nice since bridge old & gators about. This was a pleasant adventure. As always thx 4 taking us all along.
Love the Rays hat, I can’t wait to get down there to catch the weekend series against the A’s for my 50th bday. To bad the Red Sox series is after that one but oh well. Nice video though too. I love old abandoned places. The stories they could tell.
I have always had a dream of being able to somewhat safely hop a train going out west or taking some other scenic route, just riding through beautiful countryside in an open car with a couple good friends, drinks, snacks 'n' smokes. What a great time would be had. Oh to be 30 years younger and still have good knees. I'd never be able to make the jump now LOL
Love those grove tractors. Fenders we’re specifically designed for operating in groves to protect the limbs from the treaded tractor tires. Don’t mean to sound like a no it all. Just get going with these videos. 👍👍
This is so awesome. I love seeing old abandoned places although it's sad.. The memories that are left behind...It makes you wonder about the people and their loved ones that once walked the grounds. Smokin' Joe's looks like a great place to eat.. Love seeing new towns. Not too big on big city's. I am a country girl...lol I love the old cemetery. So peaceful out there. Thank you Tampa Jay.Stay safe. Much love to you and Cris the Girl.
We enjoy all your videos, love the casual way you narrate and talk about what's on your mind about the things you see in all the places you visit, as if you are taking your friends there, us. We are new to Central Florida and starting to visit some of the places you have been to, but enjoying them more because of you. BTW we still have not made it to Tampa, but thinking about it and it should be a short trip. Thank you!
Amazing old tractor and pretty old..by it having the skirted or covered rear wheels it was definitely used in the groves..she needs to be saved have seen several go across on vintage tractor auctions.. appreciate you sharing it 🚜😁👍
These are my favorite type of videos. Appreciate it Jay and I totally agree about the trash on side of roads. I live in a larger metropolitan area and the trash along roads is ridiculous
come out to Archer Florida in Alachua county, lots of old FLORIDA history out there, and Bronson, where that old school house looks just like our old weight room in high school, it has been moved years ago, but that building is built just like it...amazing finds here in this vid, kinda how i found this channel watching you do "BLODDY BUCKET" BRIDGE, During spook month, i myself lie taking roads less traveled and see where they go, dirt roads being my favorite...i have a truck.
Hi from over the pond ( we call them shopping trolley, ) lol, a buggy is something we push little kids around in. I expect you have to be careful when investigating fields with tractors ,snakes ?and those gators ,those who dump stuff at the side of the road are rubbish themselves, it's known as *Fly Tipping* here in Britain. Lovely relaxing vlogg..Haunts on !
I love old train stations makes me sad that they took the track up it would be cool if you could still ride a train to these small towns. Love your videos like this they're as nice as the smell of orange blossoms!
When we were in Florida one Summer to visit my grandmother in Niceville, there use to be a park with a small lake where you can swim in. I can't remember the name of the park but one thing I do remember was my brother had this small toy Alligator. Apparently when he was playing in the water it started floating away. So my grandmother saw some man with his daughter she said..."You see that alligator of there...." Before she finished her sentence, the guy picked up his daughter and ran as fast as he can. My brother never saw that gator again!
I absolutely loved coming along with you for this adventure. When you found the tractor next to the abandoned orange groves...the old cemetery in the middle of the orange groves...the heavenly scent of orange blossoms (I so miss that!)...the old wooden bridge you just missed seeing intact...and the pipe walking. That was so cool when you set the camera down to video yourself in the huge pipe. The end of it looked like a portal you could step into another world! I felt so sad about that old cemetery being left to be overgrown. I am an amateur genealogist and have visited many cemeteries looking for ancestors and have found some cemeteries in even worse condition where the headstones are like ordinary rocks with no writing. There is site called Find A Grave where you can take pictures of headstones and submit them to the site so researchers can find the graves of their loved ones. I wonder if anyone has done that for the cemetery you went to. Anyway, keep making more Florida roadside videos so we can join you vicariously!
My friend, I remember giant pipes like that one. Where my parents lived, at the end of the street and to the right was a creek. There was a pipe just like this one under the road and the creek ran through it. I got a feeling that's what these pipes will be used for. We used to run through our pipe and jump back and forth over the water. Sometimes we slipped. LOL. I like these type of videos that you do. As the weather gets better, I plan on doing some vids like this up here in Georgia. I only a few up right now. Stay tuned.
Interesting the names on the graves and one on the school house plague I recognize as all very popular last names even when I went to school in Hardee County in the 80’s, such as the Albrittens, Wilkerson, Durrances. Hopefully I spelled the names correctly. Not sure if they remain in the area now but they did when I was there. That was cool to know! Enjoyed your videos. Love that you don’t just drive through and video from inside your car but you stop when you discover something interesting and give us a closer look. I’ve seen the school which I never got out of car to observe so that was a treat that you let us see the inside of it. Guess I never was that brave to do that. lol. Keep it rolling and be careful out there. Thanks!!
Great Video today! I have friends who live in Bowling Green Fl 6 months of the year and back here in Indiana the other 6 months of the year. I was there back in February of this year.
Great adventure buddy! It's sickening how people just throw trash out. I live on a main state highway, and I have to pick up people trash every time I mow next to the road.
Very cool, I've been to this cemetery as well. I love searching out cemeteries like this one. There are more in this area even more remote. One that I may or may not have trespassed just a little across a pasture to get to ☺️
Enjoyed the videos as always. Off the beaten path and relics from the past are my favorite things to see in videos, and what I look for when I go out exploring myself. I’ve never been to that part of the state before, but I’ll have to check it out someday.
17:25 The sign on the caboose means that it was built (BLT) in June 1969. Some of the older ones will also list when the caboose/car was rebuilt. You can see the BLT dates on all rail cars that are in use. Some retired cars will have that painted over.
LOL @ belly of the beast. It actually looked like the motif at the beginning of a James Bond movie, looking down the barrel of a gun. That place is definitely giving The Walking Dead vibes.
@@AndieZ4U2 I wasn't criticizing it at all. I love TWD and was commenting that that area he showed looks and feels very much like where TWD was filmed here in Georgia. Hello Jay! Great video, we enjoy watching roadside attractions and abandoned places. Your right there are many places here in Florida that remind us of Indiana, especially farmland and old farm tractors. Safe travels! take care my friend and have a great week.

@@TampaJay of course man. We appreciate you too. Unfortunately I can't travel much because of work and whatnot, but watching your videos is like getting away for a bit on a mini vacation, if that makes sense haha. We don't get too many in New England. And I'm a huge horror fanatic haha. But maybe one day I'll see you at a convention somewhere and be able to say hello in person. 🤘🏼
It's fun to explore new areas. Love to see it documented too. I was thinking the numbers on the train looked like a date. I thought blt was abbreviated form of built. Could be wrong but it was what it looked like, hmm..thanks for sharing!
Lol I’ve seen that old tractor right at a year ago when I was driving around that area. I went to visit two abandoned railroad crossings. That old house you showed across from the school used to have an old store building next to it right next to the stop sign at that intersection. Jess wants to know if Cris ever watches your videos and wonders “WHAT?! What is he doing?” 😂 Jess freaks out watching you go closer and closer to that bridge that was no longer there. And there was a past video where you just wandered into some tall grass towards an abandoned structure that REALLY made her worry for your safety.
It looks like they are going to build an earthen fill bridge. The large pipes will be laid down to allow the water to pass and the rest will be composed of fill. We have a few of them up by me in Chicagoland.
That road (and bridge) looks to have been out for a long time. With all the overgrowth and weathered signage. I'm guessing that March date was at least a year ago.
Always ask the following question: what are your thoughts on belongings in abandoned homes and buildings? Leave them or take them? My thoughts are right down the middle. On one hand leaving them where they are allows other looky-loos to see what's there and what it looked way back when. Doing this though leaves everything to be gradually destroyed by nature, four-legged critters, and the worst destruction done by two-legged beasts. If stuff is taken home and looked after then it will last even longer. If someone takes it and destroys it then leave it alone and let nature take care of it. I lived for six years in Alberta a province in western Canada in the city of Medicine Hat. I worked for the British Army who train there in Suffield. About midway between the two places is an old home and low barn from back in the dust bowl days. No one has used it for graffiti purposes but other than an old iron bed frame there is nothing left in the old home or barn. I finally got brave one day, climbed the fence and took a wander towards the old homestead. I'm always interested in how people lived way-back-when. Kept hearing this strange noise and as I got close to the fence the noise got faster and louder. It was a bull. I don't think I've ever moved so fast in my life. Like you I love wandereng down country roads to see what I can find. The only things I've ever taken are pictures. Unfortunately my health is not so good and I use a walker to get around. It scares me now to go into the old places as usually the floors are not safe and I don't move as quickly as I used to. I still wander but generally just peak in the windows. Just found your channel today and have subscribed. I now can live vicariously through you. Love what I've seen and read up to now.
