Today my colleague told me, she's friends with the designer... and now I see the game on DT?! What a coincidence.
Good review! Just in case you don't know it, you should try The Defence of Procyon III (2021). Also 2v2 and asymmetric.
The mechanics are sweet honestly!
Is there another team-based area control game that is less complex for consideration?

Why did this game need to be team based and 4 players only? I cant see why this game wouldn't play well at 2?
I would absolutely love to play this and own it as this theme is my dream theme, but 4 player only and 2 against 2 only is one a weird thematic choice for me and also very restrictive.
