Covid levels are where everything returned to, Fed pumped it up in 2021, Wall Street sold it down in 2022, and it returned to trend in 2023, no need to overthink it, trade the expanding ranges in the trend. I have a lot of respect for you guys and value your perspectives.

OK,...So,....Given the relationship of SPX to YIELDS, wouldn't gambling on a guess when the intermediate upward countertrend in yields takes place be doing the same thing as guessing when to initiate a SPX short position based only on "gut", or just because "it seems like its time"? IOW, would you suggest starting an intermediate bear position on SPX/SPY without any real confirmation that this run has topped out? I know, I have taken those positions based on little more than "surely its time for an intermediate countertrend after such a high-fueled runup" and usually lose on it. Curious as to why this is an idea based on any more than "surely, it HAS to be time".

I have watched those guys for many years, I have one of the best yearsever following seasonals and my charts. Reality is they have been as wrong as can be for last 14 months. my critizism is that good traders are good because we can reverse on a dime. how does one stick to being wrong for this long ala M Wilson etc

Wouldn't matter; they're boomers. From the times when you could buy a theme park company, burger joint franchise and a sneaker manufacturer and make 20,000% over a few decades. Simply didn't matter if you were less than 85 IQ.
Gold is your only trade probably going to work out. I think it will double as soon as you throw in the towel. Market will test your patience and resolve

Profits will be booked earlier than normal in 1st qtr 2024. Term premium will begin to blow out by third qtr on the long end of treasuries as our huge debt is refinanced. Shorter duration bonds will sop up all the sideline cash and rally, thus preventing the Fed from cutting rates. Add war escalation. The real economy will fade to sub 2% growth to match inflation by year end. We will return to sub 2% growth until we triple legal immigration quotas.
Would anyone watch this if they didn’t have Carter? If you listened to Dan (especially) & guy your account would be bleeding money for as long as I can remember
