I remember years ago being a Sephora VIB Rouge (spent over $1000 in one year) and having nothing but garbage that I didn't enjoy using. It was mostly skincare, but the makeup was ehhhh. I have a bunch of drugstore makeup now that I LOVE and I'm not spending that kind of money on high end ever again. Too much greatness at a lower cost.

Hi Jen! I’m a new viewer and as someone who is overwhelmed by how many products are on the market I really love getting to hear more about the high quality drugstore products that already exist! So many RUclipsrs are constantly testing the newest launches and as an accountant I can’t fathom purchasing expensive products from Sephora when there are so many good products at an affordable price!

It’s not like it was years & decades ago where two drugstore products weren’t as good or the drugstore didn’t have shades for very fair or very dark skin either. I just stick to drugstore or if I want something in high-end quality, like single eyeshadows, I go with indie brands, Sydney Grace for single eyeshadows & Blend Bunny for very small eyeshadow blending brushes. I wait for Black Friday or Christmas in July sales.

One of my drugstore faves that I never hear talked about is maybelline full and soft mascara waterproof. I’ve recently been converted to the L’Oréal telescoping mascara, but before that the Full and Soft was the only formula I liked - adds volume and length, not clumpy, and doesn’t irritate my eyes like a lot of other mascaras do.

I totally agree. I love makeup, and got caught up in the hype of new makeup, luxury brand... but last year, luxury was and still isn't in my budget, so I started thinking about things I used to use that I loved. The Covergirl blushes for sure. So I'm using those currently. Those loreal shadows are constantly in my collection. I never invest in high end mascara. Maybelline colassal mascara is always my go to, or the Soft n Full. I've been using the OG loose powder from both Covergirl and Maybelline and Coty. I bought all 3 for less than than my luxury brand powder, and I'm re-loving them. And no matter my financial status the Covergirl Advanced Radiance foundation is my go to ride or die main bitch, but recently I did buy the Revlon age defying foundation, and I'm really loving it to. So, I alternate between the 2 lately. Excellent video!

Does anyone remember the Revlon lipstick in coffee bean? I wore it in the 90's all of the time. I think they still make it!!

My biggest gripe with old, drugstore lipsticks is the colors that I want most either come only if frost finish, which runs all over my chin; are too dark or too orange, berry, etc. for my very fair skin; or just do t exist at all. I want some nice light, but still a little bright peaches, peachy pinks, pinky peaches, or pinky purple/lavender shades. The new Maybelline Vinyl Liquid shades have several peachy shades, but I’ve never tried a liquid lip & I have to admit I’m just not sure I’m skilled enough at makeup to be able to wear a liquid lip properly. Also, the L’oreal Les Nudes line has some peachy, coral, warm pink shades that look great. I love seeing all the great makeup items that have been around forever; it gives me ideas for some cheaper, better options that won’t be discontinued next month or year like everything else.

I have used Cover Girl Soft Mink blush for decades! It is so fantastic. I feel it is a really close dupe to the Patrick Ta She's Blushing. May latest drugstore favorite has been the Neutrogena Serum brow pen. I think it is superior to the NYX one. Loved this video! Would love to see more videos like this!

I think NYX recently did a pre-release of the Wondersticks. I'm not sure if they changed the formula or added more shades or anything though. The packaging may be different, I'm not sure. I do want to try it now though. Along with alot of these other products in on the video.

I think they added more shades and also changed the highlighter. I could have sworn that the old version had a matte "highlighter"...it was just a really light colored cream with no shimmer.

I really like the Revlon blushes, cream shadows, eyeshadow quads and the Maybelline Super Stay Lip Inks. They last quite a while and are not as drying as the liquid lip products. The Cheekers don’t seem to have the pigment and there’s not a lot of product there. I’d be interested in trying the Classic blush, though.

It was so cute when you said that you almost forget how to contour. I know exactly what you're saying but you're so brave to do it right on camera lol!!! Basically I just use my bronzer to provide warmth and a little bit of shaping around the face and that does me just fine I don't feel I really need sculpting per se well, there is my 57 year old jaw line that is drooping a little so I may grab my Kevin Aucoin sculpting powder now and then and touch up my jowl....( gosh I hate that word) to shadow it somewhat to try to hide it a little bit but other than that yeah I really don't go hardcore at all into Sculpting...

I ADORE my Maybelline (once again, Maybelline) Instant Age Rewind concealer. The first concealer in a while that I've used all the way down to the very bottom, bone dry. I think I wear the 120 (190 in the foundation by same brand.) It is so hydrating in a good way. It doesn't bring out texture. It matches. If I had to pick one concealer for rest of life - a so called desert-island product - this would be the one concealer. And I've tried many...

I have used the CT Hollywood flawless filter (bought the small sample size) and liked it but not for the price. Was going to get the Elf halo glow but looked at the ingredients and it has vitamin E in it. My skin can't tolerate vitamin E. So I bought Loreal Lumi Glotion and I am enjoying it. It does have a thicker consistency than CT and a little less reflectivity but it does have a degree of blurring that I like. It works great for me and the price is right. I enjoy your videos very much.
