    Great video. So amazed at how a neglected, almost 40 year old system can still rock. Your camera work was fantastic!

    That RF output is surprisingly crisp. Job well done, mostly needed some elbow grease, surprisingly painless.

    Holy jebus, shows how that vintage stuff was built to last like a tank- all that neglect and rust/water damage and she STILL powered up!?

    ¡Excelente, te quedó como nueva, y aún mejorada, con esa luz verde de encedido que la original ColecoVision no tenía! Yo tuve esta máquina en 1984, junto a una Atari VCS, y puedo decir que fue muy buena para su época. ¡Saludos cordiales!

    I love that restoration and f zero too. I think I wish you were my neighbour. I have to clean contact of my colecovision, but I do not know if the graphic problem comes from corrosion/dirt or from vram....

    Hey buddy nice restoration video! When you soak the rusty stuff in vinegar don't add baking soda, it neutralizes this acetic acid which you need to disolve the rust. Also the chlorides in the baking soda are going to promote rust.

    You've could park a truck in there with all that empty space. I'm having trouble with the fire button on one controller. The button switch works and I've got continuity from the switch all the way down from the fire button down the wires at the bottom of the controller and continuity in all the wires down the connector. Any ideas?

    • @PunkNDisorderlyGamer
      @PunkNDisorderlyGamer  4 года назад +2

      Maybe the switch is stuck or making permanent continuity, I’ve had a similar problem with my car key actually the video is on my channel maybe the controller button is experiencing a similar fault. But I’ve never had a problem like on my coleco controllers before.
      Also a side note, with 5200 controllers the carbon contacts deteriorate over time and you have to add some carbon paint to get them to engage. Maybe you need to add a dab of carbon paint to the contacts of the controller flex board.

    • @meetmeinthegameroom8686
      @meetmeinthegameroom8686 3 года назад

      @@PunkNDisorderlyGamer that fire button is pretty much the same piece of equipment as the power switch just a little smaller. Take it apart just like you would the power switch and clean, polish, and lube it up and it will work like new. They used the same grease and it’s all 40 years old now. A lot of bad systems or controllers have dirty switches to blame. Clean them all and bring them back to life

    Awesome video, looks so much better. Learned a few things about restoration with watching you video, and I'm in the middle of trying to clean up a Colecovision myself. Found one in the dump with a couple of controllers but no PSU. Ordered a new one which ended up being expensive but seems like it's worth it.

    This is an old console in competition with the Atari 2600 console. One of my friends had this type console while I had the Atari 2600.
