Hey Johne. Vicky here ( who is in the discord server). Anansi is an important icon in the African heritage. He told in stories to children and young people to teach them lessons of what and what not to do in life, while enjoying the funny and entertaining stories of that trickster spider. I am so glad Atlus put him in the game and my god does he look good. You did pronounce his name wrong though 😅 but hopefully you get the pronunciation next time.

It's actually funny... No mention of him in persona 5. And he's one of the more relatively popular trickster Gods, more than plenty of the tier 2 ones used... Then again he may be more of a navigator style

@@vickyawsomeness2210 I can understand though, in retrospect all of the 2nd tiers are associated with the Underworld in some way I believe as well as having some "trickster" traits, I don't remember if Anansi has ties to the after life per se.

this comment gonna sound mad corny but i got so excited when i saw that Anansi was in this game, Anansisem was a story from my childhood and my mum's friend actually made the picture book version of it. anyways, im hyped for the rest of this game. keep it up Johne
I absolutely love those moments of the MC and Aogami chatting and getting to know each other. Especially Aogami trying to understand how humans act and their emotions than just being a source of power to the Nahobino, it really builds his character and makes you feel much closer to him
Fionn just looks like Shulk to the point I will laugh if its just Adam Howdan witj a voice modulator.

I like Yoko but I am getting annoyed about her having a negative opinion on stupid things
Trains exist to get to places quicker walking is slower, its not something with a hidden agenda that we're manipulated into liking.
Apart from that do like her story contributions
i read that less as her disliking trains in general, more so why society as a collective pushes their everyday citizens to constantly work with 100% efficiency non stop just to live comfortably.
I mean, she's the Chaos rep, she clearly is pretty skeptical/suspicious towards Modernity in general.

Its the earliest Heavy Electric attack you can get at this point, so yeah its really good
It is not that game breaking since the Dracostrikes are the better option but Ruinous Thunder could save you some press turn when you need zio.

I can see that you are going the law ending route for your run. I personally finish up the game on Godborn Hard Difficulty were I recently finish up Demi-Fiend (everyone is basically on Level 150). You can also power up your team if you give presents to demons in Demon Haunt, and this mechanic is really good for the Godborn Hard Difficulty mode.
Ps. Yoko is much better the Tao for the endgame, if you do the Chaos Route.

Well, Nezha is originally from Chinese mythology. The Japanese call Nezha as 'Nata Taishi'.
SMT V in general has lean towards the original name where the lore came from. I am also not used to Nata Taishi since I am more used to him being called Nataku Taishi in several Japanese translation of the name. I don't mind Nezha since I used to watch Journey to the west.

4:40 They're stretching this too much now. The concept of efficiency and transportation methods was made for better economics in a country. The transfer of bulkier products at faster rates, as well movement of people in longer distances so that they aren't already half-dead by the time they get to their destination is why trains and such methods were developed. What kind of deeper truth are they trying to find from something that is necessary for economic development? This is probably the most off-putting line yet imo.

I recently finished watching your original play through of this game johne (Amazing as always) and while I'm trying to catch up to the present play through, seeing the appearance of Anansi brings a smile to my face. Though I am not African, Anansi also appears in Jamaica culture as a theme and life lesson of being honest and not lazy. I just thought I'd write this as it's rare to see my culture in these type of games. Thank you for your great content.

4:20 - OK so I know I disagreed with the 'why u hatin on cars, yoko??' take from last episode, but even /I/ am bamboozled by the whiplash of "why build lanes high up instead of just flat lanes on the ground? Must be the media." Like, gurrrrl? XD You blaming THE MEDIA for civil engineering choices now?? Seriously thought they were going to point out that clearly, some earthquakes have disrupted the ground level here, and the lanes originally WERE flat!
I gotta be honest. Onyankopon is pretty cute for being Anansi's father, and i would never expected him to be his dad at all :o

Anansi is pronounced like ahn-AHN-see, at least from the Wishbone tv episode I remember from like friggin 20 years ago or smth, that puppy was cuuuuute af.
VERY in-character for Anansi, to PLAN his loss in a competition, dramatically cry about it, and then twist the others' sympathetic words to declares his goals met! He is BIG trickster-y, no pride at all, fully goal motivated, so much 'nanana-boobooo' energy, it's so much fun to watch retellings of his adventures

I remember having to read an African folktale in elementary school for a storytelling contest called “anansi the spider”, the character was supposed to be crafty and sneaky, funny seeing they borrowed from that in the game
