Asking for an attorney when cops come to your house is not odd at all. If you're guilty you need a lawyer, if youre innocent you really need a lawyer.

    • @byunbaekhyun2283

@@dapv144 Of course those questions would probably infuriate someone being interrogated, and probably see that person demand a lawyer. That is very consistent and not unusual during interrogation. But that is whole different issue when cops show up (for the first time) just to inform someone that their partner has been murdered. Asking if one needs a lawyer at that point is not something the average person would say when told their boyfriend has been found murdered. Usually, it takes more than that. And although nothing is impossible, and unusual things do happen, (as seen in this case with him asking if he needs a lawyer), those unusual things are the exception and not the norm. And when something is not the norm in the course of an investigation, it will be viewed as odd and will raise further and deeper probing. So, of course his remark was exceptional and therefore viewed as being odd.

The cops don't make it seem that way, Princess. Human nature does. It is odd to request an attorney in those circumstances. It is NOT a normal human reaction ro immediately think, "I'm a suspect" when they know they aren't.
As I told another person foolish enough to have the same thought process as you, being intelligent enough to request an attorney as a matter of routine (and personal choice) does NOT "normalize" it by any means. "Normal" people have a conversation with police and get on with their day.

If anyone is calling 911 from a cell phone, instead of screaming help me right off the bat, say your address!!!! THEN scream help me! They can’t pin point where you’re at on a cell phone. That’s one reason most of the operators automatically say “ 911, what is the address of your emergency?”. I know it’s a fear response, but you MUST do this for yourself to save your life. And for crying out loud, if you know who they are, SAY THEIR NAMES!

911 can pinpoint my location using my cellphone. Maybe it's a country thing? I have a Samsung. It is actually a feature u can toggle on or off in the emergency notification section. I can alert the cops and send my exact location without even having to dial 911 and it will start secretly recording for an amount of time I choose so if I'm being assault etc the evidence will be found on my phone. Actually I think it is even sent directly to the police once the recording stops. It is up to 5 minutes I believe.

@@Memg007Exactly. People can get pissed about it all they want, but it doesn’t change the fact that it looks suspicious. I wonder how many people who say to get a lawyer no matter what, have ever actually been in that situation where you learn someone you love is dead and then you’ve immediately got homicide detectives in your face. I have. Did I ask for a lawyer? Hell no. I was an emotional wreck and had next to zero regard for “protecting” myself. I have never regretted that. The cops saw me up close and personal going through the worst trauma and they knew I wasn’t putting on a performance. I can’t even begin to imagine anyone in that same situation asking about a lawyer. I knew a guy whose father was rich. His father was one of those guys who when he walked into the building he worked in, people would immediately react with "Hello Mr. X. Let me open the door for you" or when he went to this ultra classy expensive restaurants, the maitre'd greets him, "Mr. X, so nice that you complement us with your presence." Etc. The son could not compare to the father and lost his job when he was fifty and his father supported him. He was not that popular with the ladies, but nevertheless he went on the internet and found what he thought to be the love of his life. They supposedly hit it off. The woman worked in a facility that cared for old people and after they married she decided to stop working. He felt that was ok because he could afford to support them (with Dad's money.) It was about a year after they were married that he suddenly died. I do not want to reveal how he died out of fear it will provide information that can be used to kill someone. But if I was the father I would have demanded an autopsy. She had a funeral and had the body cremated. She got all his cash, belongings, car and the house. I believe she to be responsible for his death.

I was a scared kid, barely 13, and there were crimes that HAD happened and crimes that HAD NOT. The police got a story into their heads, that a friend put there thinking she was helping, and I spent something like 15 hours being isolated and threatened with all kinds of BS, until I caved and just said the least I could to get me out of that room. Did I lie and say that he had done something he hadn't? Yes. I did. I'll be ashamed of my ignorance of my right to have someone with me forever and horrified that anyone in my family let it all just ... Happen. Anyway, I did make sure that everyone with any damn sense listened and he wasn't ever charged with the things I hadn't been truthful about. Unfortunately, that also meant he came home, bc the prosecutor didn't want to proceed with something so... Un-flashy? (DA election year, don't ya know). It was another 6 years before I convinced that woman to get rid of him. So that was fun...

I never understand why people who are on the verge of being killed and barely alive don't make it a point to say who did this to them , esp if they know who it is. I see this a lot with females who are killed by an ex or someone they know! And unless emergency personnel or a 911 dispatcher asks, they never volunteer the name, and many times don't they're not even asked unless the police is present. It's like they have to pull it out of them - "who did this to you?" Like this guy here, why did he say "they" instead of saying "Jose is trying to kill me?" I wonder if it's because they're in shock and it's not a priority for them at that moment. Maybe all they care about is if they're going to live or not!

These are Matt's chilling last words "blue, blue" _can Brandy get to him in time?_
I'm assuming No because you just said *these were his "last words."* Ummmm Pretty untruthful wording to sensationalize a already dramatic scene. Nothing needed to make it more dramatic then it already was. I find that annoying! I'm happy he lived!

He should have waited for backup and not chased alone.

Not excusing anything but people need to understand that playing with people's hearts can be dangerous because some can't regulate their emotions, grieve and just move on. R.I.P to all.

So true. Never know. action-reaction is different when it comes to a person's mentality. Especially, when emotions are involved. People just react without questions or gravity of course of reacting. It's scary. Seen it too much as my mom loved playing games with males, and she only dated Hispanics which can be very passionate.
