Most would have made a complete mess of this truck trying to fix it. You sir, are amazing at your work. Your classes are educational and entertaining. Thank-you Bendon!
As a teenager hanging out at a body shop with 2 Kansas Jack frame machines working on cars and pickups when things were reparable and not throw away's, what you do is definitely the definition of work it's hard and everything's heavy ,!!! And it's definitely a puzzle trying to figure out which way this needs to go And where it needs to go
I like how even with how much sheer force you put on that frame to square it up, the dust on the top of the rail looked like it had never been disturbed. All about knowing where to put the force.
Back when I was trying to learn metalworking I remember reading that, on a molecular level, a lot of stuff happens to steel between 100 and 200 degrees. Have you ever experimented with mild heat while torquing on truck frames? Particularly while the frame is resting while under stress.
Sir you are the truck whisperer when it comes to frame work ! Its mesmerizing to watch something so twisted come back to bein within specs for factory straight. Simply Amazing. Thank You Sir for sharing your wonderful knowledge and experience with us Sir ! ✌️❤️🙏
I've only been watching for about a month but idk what it is about bending those massive frames that is so intriguing but it fkin is. Watching those trucks trust up like a pretzel is very satisfying
Very nice. Changing the twist moves the centerline, but moving the centerline doesn’t change the twist. That’s why you fix the twist first. Kinda like setting dwell before you set timing. Or setting caster and camber before you set toe.
Most insurance companies would total this but if you have someone like bendon you can save a good truck.. just gotta know someone with some good bendon skills
Not most and its always easier to total out especially when it needs to be itemized by someone that doesnt know what theyre looking at. Ah yes.. one of the easiest jobs out there but its too much. Ha ha ha
I was young and remember using a come along to pull a twisted axel straight to get a leaf spring pack to sit right. As I was using the come along ( which is all I had at this shop for this job ) it snapped under pressure bout 6 inches from my face. Scared the shit out of me. Lol
Great video love the high speed twisting shots I did not think u we’re going to get that buckle out but it looks perfect better then new I bet it’s even straighter then new and drives straighter to all thos companies that want to get the truck back on the rd as fast as possible take note that art can’t be rushed and by doing it right like this u have a truck that’s safer to drive more comfortable to drive better on tires better on fuel just better if uv ever driven a wonky truck it really takes the joy out of it real quick
He would probably get more criticism and harassment from competition than business, to be honest. Most people watching the channel are not owners of a wrecked semi, they are just bored and looking to entertain themselves.
As many of have, I'm no exception in that I've worked with my hands in mechanicals and mostly construction all my adult life. Watching the jigs and frame tool parts, if someone who hasn't worked in heavy labor - please appreciate the weight of things he has to move day in & day out. Everything in those shops is heavy, awkwardly weighted, and must be moved and set up in awkward body positions.
That's a lot of tedious work there never worked on big trucks like this one but I was the frame and unibody guy for cars and light trucks I went from the pin gauges to laser which made life a little easier. But at the end of the day knowing what you're doing and how is the key.😊
I'm curious if anyone is able to tell me if this now requires reinforcing? Does the bending weaken the frame? Will this rig have reduced capacity to haul, or weight restrictions compared to before? Thanks for the interesting video.
I watch you work and try to estimate how much it’s worth. I can imagine on a newer model truck your transformations are worth $5000 to $10,000 per day.
@diana feeney Yeah really I hope he has a class he teaches on this. Whoever the major fleet buyers of used trucks after the new ones have a million miles on them, that industry would probably make a lot of money on these frame-straightening specialists.
I know this is an older video but would the frame need any work where it buckled? I was just thinking it might be a weak spot in the future but I don't really know much about this kind of work.
You really know your sh!t, I've noticed one element in the majority of your videos, letting it sit for a while, I'm assuming this allows the molecules of the metal to cool down, when metal is bent, it creates microscopic friction, creating heat,,or hot metal. Is this the reason for letting them "sit"?
That is a good question. It usually is fine now the metal it’s self has been stressed but depending on where the buckle is depends on if it will stay. Now if it has multiple buckles then it will definitely be a problem. But what I have seen over the years they seem to stay. Unless the out it back in a ditch obviously.
Go through the trouble of finding royalty free music you can use in your video and the shop music in the background for 2 seconds takes the whole video....sometimes it's too much
Im just curious if after you got that kink out, and have it all straight and square. Do you have to add a reinforcement plate or plates to that area? If the frame is compromised there?
No. You would literally have to rebuild the entire truck from the frame out. That would take alot of time. Plus the cost of the new frame. If they're confident they can straighten that truck back out then it is a total win-win.
Thats awesome, I imagine there isn't many guys in the country that know how to do this anymore keep up the good work
You are very correct. I know how to do this as well but currently my shop isn't paying as good.
yet alot do
Just Bob & him
So great to see people that can see plumb, square and true!
I wish we had shops like you here in New Orleans. You are truly the truck doctor/chiropractor
Most would have made a complete mess of this truck trying to fix it. You sir, are amazing at your work. Your classes are educational and entertaining. Thank-you Bendon!
I love all your videos, but these longer videos are really good. I like seeing the start to finish process. Thanks for doing the videos.

It amazing that it takes only seconds to bend out of shape, and days to tweak back into shape.
What you do is an art Sir. Bravo.
You, sir, are a master craftsman!
Dude that video was so awesome!

You are a mekanik. Extraordinaire
Thank you for the great videos of twist it
You do amazing work. And I do wish you would plug the name of the shop once in awhile.
He would probably get more criticism and harassment from competition than business, to be honest. Most people watching the channel are not owners of a wrecked semi, they are just bored and looking to entertain themselves.
@@macmccune21 Right, people today would search for a reason to be butthurt over something just to contact his employer and throw a hissy fit😉
Slicker than the slobber on a bulldogs jaw.😁🇨🇦👍
Wow you are a person worth his wait in _______ 😊
You are doin it man 👍

Pretty work!

Yeah, those steel plates and braces aint no joke

You need to teach this Globally' From a Series!' and get paid for it!' 👍🖖
Good work 👏 from you neighbor to the north ... frame work is an art all in its own
Let's blow this channel up.👍
I'm curious if anyone is able to tell me if this now requires reinforcing? Does the bending weaken the frame? Will this rig have reduced capacity to haul, or weight restrictions compared to before? Thanks for the interesting video.
Hello from chattanooga tn am a semi frame pusher as well enjoy your videos stay safe
I watch you work and try to estimate how much it’s worth. I can imagine on a newer model truck your transformations are worth $5000 to $10,000 per day.
another buck two eighty-five!!!
You remind me of Bender lol Thanks for awesome content
This channel could easily be called "analytical tensors with Bendon".
This is like watching a wizard use magic on a truck.
1st comment I see after calling him a wizard 😆
@diana feeney Yeah really I hope he has a class he teaches on this. Whoever the major fleet buyers of used trucks after the new ones have a million miles on them, that industry would probably make a lot of money on these frame-straightening specialists.

Good job
Do you ever put new frame rail on? Ford Louisville dealer had frame rails,we made long roll off trucks out of tractors
Love it!! And so much better without the stupid red finger
I like the channel 🎉
How did you get all this talent and are you training anyone with hands on teaching?
When did simply red become a diesel mechanic?

Devin, truck chiropractor. 🚚 👍
Even if you get rid of the buckle and straighten everything out, would the metal not be weaker in the spot where it buckled?
That is a good question. It usually is fine now the metal it’s self has been stressed but depending on where the buckle is depends on if it will stay. Now if it has multiple buckles then it will definitely be a problem. But what I have seen over the years they seem to stay. Unless the out it back in a ditch obviously.
Enjoy yr vids
How much does something like that cost. Just curious
Well done
Question for you have you ever had to replace a whole rail I? Know I have.
Old Mac.
Holder in the front
Holder in the back
Pusher over
Almost a Hyku
Go through the trouble of finding royalty free music you can use in your video and the shop music in the background for 2 seconds takes the whole video....sometimes it's too much

👍👍
very cool. thanks for making this video. what does a repair like this cost?
Wizard 🛠🛠🛠
Red chubby finger pointer would help increase wisdom
This Might Be A Stupid Question, But Wouldn't A New Frame, Or Sound Used Frame Be Cheeper & Better in the Long Run ???
No. You would literally have to rebuild the entire truck from the frame out. That would take alot of time. Plus the cost of the new frame.
If they're confident they can straighten that truck back out then it is a total win-win.
You can’t be the man at his own game
This is so cool. Talk about skill!
Can you do pickup truck frames as well?
👍
