The phone idea is a good one. Or if they rented out the cameras, like home wifi routers are. Those cams are a pretty big capital investment, especially after taking into account currency conversion.
The connectivity issues are frustrating for sure. I got it to map while driving uber, etc. I can't do that with the mapper app open all the time. I thought the "allow app to refresh in background" would take care of that but I guess not. Luckily I had a spare phone for the hivemapper (worked even with no cell service on it) so My main phone for work and spare for mapping. That's a bit of a hassle though especially if on your bike. Great video GOAT! Thanks!!
I can get it to record, but due to limitations with FAT32, you can only record around 21,000 images in the folder - which is only about an hour of drivetime
tell your friends? what friends?! you can get thread in and melt-in 1/4-20 spuds that work great with PLA/ABS good point on the lean. they need an accelerometer in there friggin bologna it doesnt log your data, thats why Im waiting for the small one which lists local dashcam
Yes, it still drops connections to the phone or to GPS often. Sometimes for up to 15 minutes before reconnecting and then it start mapping again. There is a new OS upgrade coming out this month, that should fix a bunch of these issues (so they say)
@@GeekOfAllTrades I don't blame you for not turning it on, especially for a short trip. I'd try a gimble mount to keep the video level while on the hog.
It records if you're phone free from it, if you have your phone connected it says it doesn't map after dark, and when you send the night photos to their cloud, you don't get paid for them, because they can't use them
So how many miles did you drive and how much did you make? That’s what we want to know.

What's the latest scoop. Do they reject all the angled images from you?

It seems they need some software refining...
Could you use some sort of gimbal mount for it, for optimum angle/view?

is the connection problem still there ?

Sounds like a PITA, if they want it to succeed they need to make hardware changes for sure.
I agree, it needs to be more "plug-n-play". I have opted to not even turn it on for some trips, because I didn't want to even deal with it.

It is like the coin app mining
does it work at night?
