Great idea for a video. I think Room is the hardest one for me to make a decision on out of those. Both the book and movie are excellent.
Two from me that you didn’t cover: Psycho and Die Hard.

I think both of those are movies that so many people don't even realize are based on books! I read that Hitchcock had copies of Psycho bought up, because he didn't want people to go into the movie already knowing the twist. Def a lot that weren't mentioned though! In my part 2 for this video I'll be talking about so many more that weren't brought up!

Re-reading Jurassic Park at this moment! And I think you've made a great decision about American Psycho. I hate, hate, hated that book.

Awesome! And thank you for confirming my decision not to read American Psycho lol. Are you a fan of the movie? Or do you dislike both?

@@WhytheBookWins I hated the book so much that there was no way I was going to watch a movie of it. And I don't mind violence - like you, I liked Blood Meridan. But AP went over the line, IMO. (Talk about misogyny!) UGH.

Harry Potter was a huge part of my childhood. I must've read them at least 5 times.

I’ve found that the French film version of Harlan Coben’s Tell No One is better.

I would add The Color Purple, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and a couple of short stories by Daphne du Maurier that were turned into much better films: The Birds and Don’t Look Now.

Definitely want to cover The Color Purple and 2001! I have never read du Maurier either and want to

Its hard for me to say anything is better than a murakami story. But both murakami adaptations I have seen were adapted from short stories so obviously the films can go farther in depth. The film Burning is so damn good. It's also like 3 hours long and was adapted from a story that is only 13 pages long.

Yeah I would say with HP I prefer the books just because I love the character of Dobby and he's BARELY IN THE MOVIES! In fact (this is my biggest pet peeve with the movies) THEY COMPLETLY CHANGED THE SECOND TASK OF THE TRIWIZARD CUP AS IT WAS DOBBY THAT GAVE HARRY THE GILLY WEED NOT NEVILLE! I was crying when Dobby died in the movies and books but if u only saw the movies (which a friend of mine did) u wont understand QHY DOBBY"S DEATH IS SO DEVESTATING!

Yes! Definitely agree, I loved Dobby and the other house elves from thr books!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, the movie is better.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, equally good.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the book is better.
