- The DPW Chassis, a 1969 Stock Restoration with a couple tweaks here and there, is now onto the Pedal assembly which was a total disaster. Crazy how much we tend to deal with issues and not look into solving the problems. But rest assured, we will get it handled and back to OEM or Better.

Good thing the pedal cluster being rebuilt was "on the list" the wear on that pin is crazy. I'm glad my friend Pete was on the job! no telling what one would get with amateur's Good job my friend Pete!

Those later model peddle assemblies have a number of design flaws. Restoring them is a temporary fix, because of the poor design. VW didn't make a lot of design mistakes, but whoever the engineer was that was responsible for those peddle assemblies should be ashamed of their work.
That pin surely wouldn’t last much longer!

Do you paint or powdercoat the pedals during the restoration?
Powder coat.
Can't say I've ever seen the roller channel (5:50) on the gas pedal broken and folded over. Don't think this 69 has ever seen preventive maintenance.
