In the sixth episode of her backstage vlog, Jessie Mueller heads into the recording studio with her castmates to record the original cast album of "Beautiful."
They won the Grammy for this album!
Anika is a genius for filming Jessie singing "Chains" a capella. AWESOME.
also, now that i'm commenting I have a question for Jessie:
how did you find Carole's voice in your voice? and how do you make it work for 8 shows a week?

OK, story time: I went to NYC for a choir festival with my high school choir, Spring 2005. Part of the package was tickets to a Broadway show; we voted on _The Phantom of the Opera_. I ended up in row B, which is actually about the 5th row. Two of my choirmates in the row behind me talked the whole time, and they weren't saying very nice things. Unwarranted mean comments that I was worried the actors could hear.
I was like, seriously? We all complain about people talking during our shows, and you go and do the same thing? At a _professional_ production?
So, do *not* talk during a show, or eat at all. Forget noisy things, you can go a couple hours without food. Try to bring a quiet water bottle; reusable bottles save the planet!
wonder how she feels about people from the audience singing along during the show.. :D

It's 2021. People have talked during live shows since the beginning of time. Many times I've turned to someone and said, "You know, there are REAL PEOPLE on the stage. This isn't a movie. They can HEAR YOU." And they look at me like "Wha? Real people?" Yea, I don't get it either. p.s. love Jessie.
Saw Beautiful and luckily sat around a respectable bunch of people. It was phenomenal. But I also saw Aladdin the same weekend and sat next to two women who talked throughout the show in normal tones, not even whispering. Someone else Shh'd them and they actually got offended. It's like some people are completely oblivious to common courtesy.

Hey Jessie! I can't believe audiences still can't understand that,other than the lowest, briefest whispers directly in your friends ear, is unacceptable. But I'm a child of the Seventies, when we just shut the hell up!, Thank you for speaking truth! However, I'm now totally obsessed with Jessie's leg hair! I'm weird and proud! (There isn't a hairy emoji?... Disappointed!)😢
I'll definitely know what album NOT to buy.
