Great tutorial!! Very helpful information (esp. for new builder).
    < nerdmode >
The 'flickering' 16:03 - In 3D rendering that is called "Z-fighting" two polygons are occupying same coordinates in 3D space and the rendering gets confused on what to show. It's a common occurrence in any 3D application and that just means "bad geometry positioning". I assume the way they do projections is creating a transparent plane and then they add the LCD/Projector content on it. If that's the case then the wall and the LCD if perfectly positioned as you showed here ... then yes Z-fighting will occur. A slight additional offset from the wall will fix that. The door works meaning no polygons are touching the LCD projected plane. Or it really could be an Unity projector bug or just someone F'd that position up in the code :D . < / nerdmode >
That's an extreme example you showed and usually just use same level. Keep up the good work!

oh thank you for the nerd mode :-) always nice to learn new stuff. If there are more questions feel free to ask for that is just for the basics

    Hi there.
I just want to thank you for the "red heart with the white heartbeat" symbol.
I'm currently doing the door/room labelling on a new ship and have got to the door to the "Medical Centre", and I wanted to use the "Rod of Asclepius", but (as you probably know) the Empyrion LCDs don't support that character, although the Caduceus is there, and I was planning to draw it with other characters instead (I probably still will - the "Star of Life" on any ambulances I may build will still need one). BUT, I think this heartbeat logo will be a much better icon for any Med Centre I make. I won't be copy/pasting the symbol you've drawn, I'll still make my own, but it will be based upon yours, of course.
I have thumbed-up this vid and I will give credit to you (your RUclips name) in any ship I use that symbol in/on as a thank you.
    Cheers bro.

Thank you but feel free to use the original if you like. I made a few LCD-Walls and they are made for everybody who like to use them. My fun part was creating them and see what we can do with the limitations we have. If you have an idea of what you wont contact me and we see if we can do it. I am always looking for new challenges. Don't miss the bumper sticker wall :-).

      @@allessiabahzelson167 Thanks buddy. ;)
When I started building in Empyrion again I promised myself that I would make all my own LCDs, so although I used yours as inspiration I have made my own "heart & heartbeat", as well as showers and toilets.
However, since you offered, and as I mentioned in my OP, I am going to need a Rod of Asclepius, so if you fancy the challenge you could give that a try. XD

I love your LCD designs - especially the graphical ones like the flower pot! By the way, can I get the code for that one? I can't find it in your ships I"ve spawned. Thanks, Allessia! I'm loving your RE MSC modules like the club and the garden, BTW! Very innovative.

@@allessiabahzelson167 OK I'm blind! I had spawned your V1 Show Wall and missed the flower pot. I love that you found an arrow that actually looks like a sprig of leaves! I've learned a lot from your LCD video. I just couldn't get my head around the line-height and pos stuff before I watched it. Now I'm going to spend some time seeing what I can make! 🙂 Thanks, Allessia.

hi, when i set a lcd-projection (not the projector) straight onto a block, then the projection itself is going to be flackering. how i can avoid this? (beside these annoying 0,25-settingsteps) (changing the type of blocks and/or texturing are without effect). and thanx for the tutorial, its just amazing, how many time are spend even in smaller motives.

If the Projector is not at the same plane it will start to flicker. If you put the projector down, you can go front or back, up and down, and left and right and every thing is good. If you turn it like 90° to put it onto another plane, it will glitch a bit into the wall and start this annoying flickering (dosen't mater witch axis you turn it over). If you use multiple colors in layers on top of each other some combinations can cause that too. If you wonna project on to a Deco block like the TV-bench or contructors or things like that, you might have the same effect depending on what side or what block it is. Thats what make it so hard to pimp up Deco blocks with lcd's. Hope that helps i discribed this problem in the tutorial a little bit.

@@allessiabahzelson167 thanx for your fast answer, this thing, that the projector should have the same direction/angle like the (block)projection itself, is helpful to know, i wouldnt find it out in thousand years. still its a bit unfortunatly, because its a bigger reduce of options for the use, like this flickering at different color-layers. so nwm, thanx again for your help.

Can i put data like battery voltage and stuff on the lcd in vanilla?

Well if you think of a design you can. However this won't be a live feed it's only a static picture for show. There is a program that can display such things, but i don't know if it was updated and how it works.
