Another fine video, and all the times I have been to Manhattan, have never visited Roosevelt island. Very interesting regarding the smallpox hospital and the FDR statue, my parents hero, since they both lived through WW2 and my father was in WW2. Definitely one of the greatest Presidents ever who helped save the world from Fascism, along with Churchill!
Thank you. In my DC Monuments video I did a big segment on FDR and his beautiful memorial in DC (ruclips.net/video/0c7gAxoDUoQ/видео.html). They broke it up by rooms to depict different struggles of his 4 terms as President. Roosevelt Island is a fun $3.25 ride to get some of the best views of both Queens and Manhattan, but its one of those places that's really in the middle of nowhere. I spent half my life in NYC and had only visited twice.
I couldn't guess which NY accent is José's, but they are all music to my ears. I've lived on the UES since 2004 and love every inch of the City (including the subway)!

I use to live in the east upper side for many years I them relocate to state of New Jersey. I never had been in Roosevelt😢island because in my early years the island was no a community like now. No communication I think only by boat. The Ellis island where many millions of emigrants from Europe to New York City. Thank you for this place that many people who lived there doesn’t know those places. Please do one Staten Island the county that few decades all the city garbage 🗑 went to Richmond now Staten Island that is growing fast.
