Thanks for reviewing my car Kevin. You are a true car nut. Thanks for sharing my passion for this car. It’s def one of the biggest secrets in the industry. It has far better driving dynamics than most people remember/think. Btw- bc of the lack of a sharp initial throttle tip in, it can be a little vague engaging the gears. You did it like a pro. Now… time to get you one 😎

7 years and the only time mine spent in the shop was elective, getting the light weight flywheel installed. Never had an issue with heel-toe. The car with the sport suspension is far more sports car than GT. "piano black" on an Aston is actual painted wood, Loved that car.

Just picked up a manual 4.3 last month for about 30k and it's been a joy. These cars are definitely slept on.

Just finished the video. The car is a parts bin special in the best way. Most of the consumables are actually badge shared so if you know the correct PN to reference from Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, or Ford and you are not afraid to wrench on a car, you can save up to 300% off the part prices compared to Aston Martin. The 4.3s are not great out of the box. They are overly sprung, and the throttle mapping is very lazy. But nothing a few grand in mods can't fix. With the front-midship transaxle layout, the car is nearly 50/50 with it a little rear heavy. And it's got dual wishbones all around. It's a little heavy but all the materials are metals and leathers, not plastic so they wear very well with age. Mine has 104k miles and there are no squeaks or rattles. The major flaw is the interior infotainment stack but I just use my phone. I'm biased but if you're looking for something you drive more on the street than at the track, I think this is a superior alternative to the same generation 911s (996-997.2) for less money.

Are these issues with aston martin's in general, or just this model and that too, only because it's old?

Reliability is actually quite good. Some people have had electrical issues but powertrain is solid.
