1. Every civ in the game has spearmen. 2. Crossbows are only available in the castle age. 3. Crossbows don’t counter horsemen. This civ has no answer to horsemen. It’s fundamentally a broken design plain and simple.
@@ChillyEmpire Raiders have bonus vs cav and hit relatively hard natively making them very good early game and bad late game balanced around a fast, hard hitting infantry. I think this is a good civ identity altough maybe not matured enough? The fight that he lost is because the vienamese player had only knights and he had half spearmen. Vs horsemen the scandinavian player would have won. Altough I concede that feudal knight will look rough for this civ (unless raider are super fucking good in dark age to deny gold for knights).
@@ChillyEmpire Yeah ok, I just saw they have shield wall and charge. I tought it was only a no ability units... I think removing these 2 will balance it and reverting the damage to cav.
Vietnam historically did have heavy lancers in this period. People forget but the Dai Viet were a bona fide imperialist power in Southeast Asia. They’re not just hiding in the jungles.
@@BEEETRUS Yoyo, sorry. I REALLY dislike the design for the Scandinavians. It was designed by someone who doesn't really understand the game. I won't promote it except to talk about why it's a bad design. I am working on a redesign for them. I may promote that.
Scandinavians need spearmen. Every single civilization in the world has had spearmen.
really good job designing this civs go go chilly
Where is the Scandinavians in 60 secs short pls
Excellent work. Curious about how will you design Tibet or Bhutan in AOE4?
Still waiting for the Aztec intro 🥹
poison arrow should be a required upgrade or the toxic should reduce.
I think having a civ with no spears is not a problem and they have crossbows. I think it's a good change
Plus, it seems to be predicated on an early Feudal Age rush with the raiders.
All offense and little defense.

Scandinavians have 0 answer to cavalry now.
