While Phosphoru is awesome, we really need to give credit to AntiDemon here for how awesome that game was. He simply refused to die.
Phosphoru is like half the content on T90's channel these days and I love it.
Also, once he pushed blue out of base, would it not have been smart to steal the farms and try to build up his own eco even a little bit?

You expect Phosphoru to be smart about economy?
I think phosphoru's whole gameplan is to get to castle age and then completely abandon spending any time on eco/macro unless completely forced into it. If he created villagers that's fewer resources that can go into sniping his enemy with the unique unit before they have a chance to do anything about it and if you have to think about clicking eco to multiple different things that's less clicks you can spend trying to blow up the enemy in their home. Obviously if it doesn't work it's completely over but that's kind of the nature of all-in boom-or-bust type strategies. I think it's pretty entertaining and the fact that he managed to get to ~top 100 with these plays is very funny

this is where the phosphoru strat breaks down.
at this point he MUST start building his economy back.
this exact same problem has been observed many times by now.
there's no way phosphoru could've won that. all AntiDemon had to do would be to run around with his vils and drop mils for deer and farm. get to castle or get a scout army going. all Phosphoru could do is chase with the world's slowest army and either send his single vil with it for repairs or send the vil home or to the castle and slowly buy enough res for another tc and boom. which would take forever
Not even. AntiDemon just needed his two scouts and four archers to snipe the one villager. With that villager dead, Phosphoru can no longer generate resources. Then it’s just a matter of chipping the scorpions until they die.

Posphoru just absolutely refuses to reboom. He got himself in a position where he had a castle at his opponent's base with a bunch of vils. If he manages to build second TC there, which he can because he is in castle age and his opponent is not, you just keep your opponent from advancing to castle age and steamroll him cause he can't build more than one TC. Sure, that would slow down his military unit production, but his KD was so high with the stronger castle units he was producing, this was probably a viable option. He just needs to focus a little more on his eco during all this and his position becomes really strong really fast.
Big trees are the only trees for spectating.

Big trees are good for those games imo, when it comes to gorest nothing or 8 player games the small trees are better
from a non player who likes aoe2 gameplays, phosphoru is by far the most entertaining player in these streams

I honestly miss big trees it really takes me back to the "good ole days"
Wild game; sometimes as an intermediate player at the game you feel like you can't figure out how those high level games go so awry. This was so good to watch for learning just exactly what happens in faster-paced matches.
I think Phosphoru would have won if he actually just started mining gold instead of taking the Demon's stone. He would have afforded a lot more earlier and it would have been enough to kill blue at his base. Also of course if he was a bit better at micro and paying attention to the rest of the map he would have won because he wouldn't have lost his entire eco on that wood line.
taking that gold and having the presence of mind to retreat to the castle when needed, or towering or TCing it if possible puts him in a strong position. He was focused on killing his opponent with the eco he had when he probably had enough military to delay his opponent from castling long enough to get a second TC and enough vils that he just outbooms him and then it's over. With castle age units and his opponent on the run, he probably didn't even need as much eco as his opponent to overpower him (his opponent needs to defend and save for castle age if he hopes to win after all)
Phos gg there was the right call. He couldn’t chase down vills even if they weren’t bringing in resources.
Him carrying on would be only for griefing and your entertainment, so good on phos for the gg there

This is the essence of Age of Empires. Not booming to 150 vills and some crazy armies, no. THIS is the pure RTS strategy playing, this is how this game should be played all the time :)

Phosphoru, slowly turning Arabia into latter game Nomad. :-D Still well done by AntiDemon, for staying alive and noticing that crucial little detail that allowed him to kill Phosphorus economy. Like it was bit of luck, but also it definitely had to be paying attention to that.

Phosphorus is eco blind. He just needs to add only 1 vill at a time when he attacks enemy under the tc to food. He will become unstoppable.

I am 4:02 into the game and i take your dare T90.
I believe that both are going to castle age, are going to drop a castle on the ennemies and are going to baseswap. My reasons for this thought is : you mentionned in previous videos that the problem to go fast castle against RP is that he castle drop you and take advantage of his strong unique unit to pressure while the castle defend his ressources in your base. If you have a civ where you can emulate his strat (mongol = strong FC with the hunt + strong UU), why not emulate it to the end and do the same yourself. Also earlier in the video, you said antidemo knew RP as if he had a strat in mind.
Anyway, my guess is locked, let's see what happens.

Man... How did he not win this? Almost. I think spreading out your eco is one of the best answers to phosphoru, because if he needs to find you in different places he can´t attac and destroy you as fast and the eco wins...

Would have been amazing if Red has bluffed his way to a win. AntiDemon may well have resigned if his TC went down or after more combat, so it’s a pity Red resigned.

What if TCs did a little bit of bonus damage against scouts? It would probably be really awful for me because my scouts always get nuked by TCs anyways, but I think it makes sense and would help counter the Hera style of running under the TC and killing your vills and crap. Or at least punish it a lot more..
Is the "seek shelter" into ram exploit been fixed yet?, I was surprised phosphoru didn't abuse it this time with his jannisaries.

1 or 2 farms under the castle would have won the Game for phosporu. But I can imagine that investing in a mill and 2 farms in game where you are so short on money is not easy.

I think it was just over. Red has only 1 villager left, has no resources to create anything more, and likely no real opportunity to gather any more resources safely. The scorpions are nice but they're not gonna be able to completely wipe out blue with their remaining health.
Always big trees pls - the game looks great without all the mods and such and we rarely get to see that unless it’s your videos!

Are players at this 2k+ level just not confident that 2 stable scout can stop this nonsense? That usually seems to work around 1500, you have a critical mass of high pierce armor units to fight off 1-2 wood-gold UUs if he castles his base, or to catch moving villagers if he tries to offensive castle drop.
Also re: Phosphoru's skill level, I think there's no question that he's mechanically good (or he wouldn't be 2k) but there's also no question his UU strats wouldn't exist without the new civs, new changes and new units of the past 5 years. There's also no question that his all-in siege strats wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the constant push to make Arabia extremely open and flat in comparison to its vanilla version, as well as for the push to nerf archer micro (see 27:00 where 1 half-health scorpion and 1 villager take out 10+ fletching archers being actively micro'd for an example of how bad it's gotten). So he's definitely not some sort of visionary.

I think he had no feasible wincondition at the end. No point playing on. TC can be repaired forever now. Spread eco around the map and go from there. I think maybe he could've tried to mass a lot of jannies instead.
