Jalon Miller and his crew go to a remote mountain region of Montana, and at high altitudes they assemble the subfloor and erect the logs for a single level Montana Cabin 18 x 24. A bad storm moved in and they have to stall the work for a week.
Then Jalon and his crew need to go to Kalispell to assemble another Montana Cabin 18 x 24, and at the same time, his dad Elvie takes a different crew and they go to finish the cabin in the mountains. The total is 3 1/2 days working time.
Meadowlark Log Homes specializes in hand crafted, handmade log cabins, log homes and other wood and timber buildings. The 18x24 Montana Cabin is Meadowlark‘s best selling log cabin or home product.

Amish woodworking is the best. Put in a Amish kitchen in my home couple years ago. 10x quality of many kitchen outlets for half the cost. Super nice people as well. Thanks for sharing. Turned out amazing.
Beautiful cabin a lot of work in FOUR days for sure. Very organized build and the craftsmanship is top notch. The owner is thrilled and obviously very happy and pleased. That's a good thing for sure. Full basement is fantastic doubled the living space especially with one bedroom on main floor this allows more bedrooms and play area for the kids. GREAT PLAN. God bless.
Fantastic work. I am very close to my Amish friends here in northern Michigan. I bought a real nice storage shed from one family and another family completely removed my old garage roof and replaced it for a price far lower than any contractor I checked with. The big difference I see is when they did my garage roof I picked up four men early in the morning and took them home around five and they also had only hand and battery tools. I realize there are many different Amish people and some do things very different than all the rest.
I bought a special order cargo trailer 14x7 with 5.. 30 x15 windows and built the inside to look like a log cabin and it came out great and could live in it so I know I could live in this .Very nice.
you make it look easy. Cutting the matching pieces for the roof perfect !
I love that style of cabin. I could live in there the rest of my life.

With Solar and Wind power I would LOVE a place like this .
Incredible work. Nothing like experience and dedication. No words can describe the beauty of that cabin but it's not possible without those craftsman. Great video.
Your square window cuts are laser sharp! Everything about each phase is perfection. I hope my heavenly home is a log cabin, lol! Although a tent would be a blessing just to be in heaven.
Fantastic job it is extreme credit to the crews who built this absolutely stunning cabin
using a CHAINSAW for the finish fascia board cuts....AMAZING! Love these guys!
I've never seen this family/company produce anything other than beautiful homes and interesting, clean content on this channel. It amazes me that trolls would give the video a 9% negative rating. Knuckleheads...
thank you :D
If these guys are actually Amish, you can expect nothing but the best workmanship.
Wow, all those incredible lodge pole pines that are perfect for making log cabins around that build site! Tall, a lot of trunk with no branches ( knots ), very little taper for their length. Absolutely perfect logs for a cabin.

Yes.
I'm hooked on all of your videos and the cabin build episode series. I thoroughly enjoy watching the technical skills and dedication of the crews involved. It's great to see a project unfold. You have certainly orchestrated some wonderful operations. Must be incredibly rewarding for all involved. God bless.
Beautiful cabin. It was interesting to see how the roof and insulation were done. I’m curious about how the metal or final roofing goes on. I’ll have to look at your other videos. Thank you.
Wonderful craftsmanship. Smooth precise cuts.
Love to see it when it is finished on the inside !
The cabin is looking really good. The guys who are doing the work really know what they are doing.
Iron doors with thick iron door hinges, black iron window shutters lock down , keep people out when gone! I never see this type of cabins.
I like this cabin great workmanship. The owners are going to be happy when done.
That's amazing !! You guys are such hard workers . You did a beautiful job ! I love it !! I was hoping you were going to show what the basement looked like and what will they use it for ? Thanks for sharing another great video !!
I am moving from Massachusetts to South Carolina. I absolutely love this cabin. I have not considered log cabins and know zero about them. What kind of an expense is it from beginning to end something the size I am living alone in the mountains in Aiken South Carolina
Solid and well constructed, wish we had builders like you in central Pennsylvania.
I wish you would have shown how the roof was completed as well as how the angle iron wired around the windows. Nice cabin!
So nice

Elvie such beautiful work!!!
Good job cutting windows and doors. I am glad you repeated it a couple of times and showed us. It certainly is not easy to do a good job like that.
I’m watching your videos from the United Kingdom and am so impressed with your workmanship, it’s just beautiful to see. I’m moving back to the US in 2022 and will definitely be in touch with you. Think bigger and more craftsmanship in the interior 😉
Stay safe and keep well.
Best wishes to you all,
Lorrie
I have a sister Lorrie.
Elvi you guys are amazing, and that cut is true art! Keep the video coming. God bless from Hawaii
Fantastic work, great home. Like the owner said a legacy home.
ruclips.net/video/gCw-syFh4bQ/видео.html
The footprint is small relative to the prominence of the basement to the point where the cabin looks like a decorative cap on a concrete bunker ! However the cabin is gorgeous. I really feel like it's a work of art.
Awesome sunset, thanks for the video
It's wonderful to live in such a fresh environment. close to nature
I like a house away from the crowd.no need for luxury. quite happy life. serene and peaceful alienating is better than covid 19 👍🏻👍🏻😂
I've got that same DeWalt miter saw; it's beast that runs off batteries
Beautiful house, great job.
You guys really take pride in what you do.

Beautiful cabin...nice workmanship. Love that size and style. Thanks for sharing!
Wow that’s amazing 🤩 in 3-1/2 day’s 🇳🇿
I like creative ideas. With innovative creative ideas will foster new creations that show their hidden skills. Healthy and always successful.
Great house in forest for relaxing at free time so amazingly.
personally I'd run that wiring through conduit, just incase something needed to be replaced it wouldn't be imbedded in spray foam. Other than that it's a beautiful cabin
Good call!

It’s beautiful place , I love.!
Thank you so much for your comments and blessings!
beautiful, perfect for one or 2 people..hope one day i can hire you guys if it can be done in Appalacia mountains
The roof looks like it is really slick, very dangerous. I believe if I was going to build I would build more than one bedroom. But all in all it’s going to be awesome. God be with these builders.
I own two of those stoves. They new owners will learn you must connect the air intake to the outside in some manner. Its a beautiful stove by Vermont Castings but they don't draft well and if you're using room air like I did in the beginning to find I had to literally have the door open on a crack to get enough air. There's a kit you can buy that permits you to hook 3" gas appliance exhaust hose to the back of the stove so you can plumb it through the wall or floor. It uses a spring tensioned flap on the back of the stove. So you can set it fully opened and as the stove comes up to full temperature the spring slowly closes the intake flap. But drawing from room air is very frustrating
Judy here from Canada, what a beautiful cabin and a nice spot.
I would love to have a home built by the Amish they are the greatest builders ,wonderfull homes .
Such great homes. The quality is great. I love them.
Awesome Elvie ! I would love a log cabin with a fireplace and lots of windows + a few skylights to let the sunlight in ! What about a few solar panels in order to save $ on the heating expense ? On another note, it is nice to see a company with an excellent work ethic !! I look forward to other videos !
WOW, that basement is very TALL.
Our current house is a 2 story built into the side of our mountain.
In the front is our oversized 2 car garage and the other side is our 1 bedroom 1 bath walk out apartment. Our main house is over our garage and the apartment. Our back door on the second floor is also on the ground level because of the mountain.
We have an additional upper rear driveway so that when we don’t want to walk upstairs to our living area (house), then we can just go in our back door.
The next house we build will be a 1 story so we won’t have to climb up the stairs to get into our house (cabin).
The cabin is small so they wanted a full basement. Most of these small cabins are on a crawlspace.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial Ours will be on a crawl space. We’re trying to think ahead and as we age it’ll be harder to get up and down the stairs.
Our current house is a 2 story (built into the side of our mountain, so our upper driveway allows us access to the back door on the second floor.
Our garage is in the front of our house and is on the first floor.
I like watching cabin builds on RUclips
Usually by the homeowner and of varying quality.
But you can tell even at a distance that the logs were perfectly selected, no half assing it.
They look like fricken Lincoln logs lol.
Violent Kisses Watch primitive living. And making mud houses too. Just in case America goes to war , you get tree branches tie them together ; you get mud ; and grass mix it well ; then add it on the branches and you at least got a roof over your head a really great idea 💡 is you gut small logs out ; about 2 feet ; you take that mud ; or ; concrete ; and you just keep adding it until you get the , height you want that’s my idea anyway hope you see that too you’ll enjoy. Primitive living stuff that have lots of PRIMITIVE stuff. It’s very peaceful relaxing 😌 you can build a home for free. FOR FREE. if you lived on the water I bet you could generate your own electricity too , take care beautiful

Marvelous job I love it keep on making more houses guys congratulations that’s awesome house
Gotta get with to times on log cabins, build them to keep people out. So when you leave to go to the store for 3 to 4 hours are more, when you get back, no one broke in your home
LOG Cabins are EXTREMELY heavy. They are perfect for use in the US' TORNADO ALLEY. Their rooves do not get blown off.
I painted a huge log cabin with seatol.it had giant eves.that kept the sun off the logs so it didn't have to get a coat of seatol.every year.but this stuff makes logs look real real good.
Really nice. I've always loved log cabins. This is the first of these type of videos I've seen where the owner is helping out, and I've long wondered if that could represent some discount on the construction cost. Well I'm not young, and I'm not sure my labor would be worth much. I remember roughly when those I-joists were a new invention. The are supposed to be super strong. I have little to no building skills, but I just happen to remember these things because I was so impressed at the time.
Thanks yes you had good observations. All your comments are correct!
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial Thank you. The log cabin is gorgeous.
Very talented and organized crew...Great job guys...
This cabin and location are just so beautiful. Can’t wait for my cabin.
I love your insane skills and professionalism. Outstanding work. Cheers from Michigan! Merry Christmas to all.
Merry Christmas!
Have Never seen a Craftsman with a chainsaw, and the plumb cut on ridge board proved it
I can't find anyone else that has those roof timbers exposed like that, looks beautiful
Beautiful! Greetings from Germany!
So beautiful, the most beautiful part is no neighbors within view.
I am redoing my childhood home and don't know a thing about putting a house together. I am thinking 1 month for me. You say 3.5 days for your work crew. I might be able to do it. A least the lower level. I have to rebuild all round it as the foundation has sunk to a 6" cinder block on the right side and a whole one of the left. I see it as an art project. I hope by next summer that the whole front is finished. I have some help from others who have done the electric and water. Water is very easy now days with the pex pipe. About 1,300sq ft. I want to make the bathroom and kitchen bigger and put in a swim pond in the back.
I do enjoy your channel.
The cost of wood these days - I’m gonna plant some cedar so my grandkids can build one. Awesome work
Interesting choice in window manufacturer. I've been conditioned to believe that the only true choices are Pella or Anderson for real quality and durability. Perhaps JW is comparable?
Love love love!!!!!! Beautifully crafted!
Yes absolutely Michelle 💯 percent agree
How much did this cost for this cabin material plus labor? Do you know how much the foundation cost them, property and yearly property tax? Great craftsmanship and work ethic.
There are prices and more on their web site.
This cabin is about $17,712, but then add in the assembly cost, the electrical work, doors and windows, furnishings. they say to add about 3-4x's the cost of the log package you buy....read more here...meadowlarkloghomes.com/log-cabins/18x24-log-cabin
@@denofearthundertheeverlast5138 6x the cost. So take 18,000 x 6..
I'm sure that this is a $250K cabin. My guess!

Nicee wonderful wood bangers putting in their skillfull & best craftsmanship into cabin AWESOME 😎👍
Love that property and awesome cabin.
I absolutely love the work that Amish Meadows does. I'm saving my money to have one built from Meadowlark. I love this one with the basement and looking at a few others I'll know which one when the time comes. You all are such a blessing in every way. Your work is fantastic and perfect done by wholesome and righteous men! \0/ shalom*
That basement adds a lot of square footage. I would have at least roughed for a full bath in the basement.

Elvie this is just a beautiful style cabin. All of your cabins are beautiful. Been watching the episodes on you tube off and on throughout the year and I truly enjoy watching you and your crew build these beautiful homes. Sigh maybe someday I'll be able to own one too...

I like that log cabin in Montana.not too big , but built solid.logs and roof pine board s.
great job guys super quick workers fantastic!!
Very nice work and 3 1/2 day of hard labor , now that is just crazy
Thanks for showing
That 45 degree bevel on the window openings is a really nice touch.
Nice cabin. I'd be worried about fire mitigation as you can see a lot of dead pines from the pine beatle.
Great job Elvie ...Well done! I've been watching you for a long time and if not the system you work with .. I like the fitting of beams and logs.! 👍Can you tell me do you work outside of USA or just in Montana etc. ..!? Thx buddy for answer..! Greetings from Alberta. 👍🍁💕🍷🌿🤙
We actually send a number of log homes into Canada but are not able to reassemble so it will take a Canadian crew to put it together. We’ve got a Canadian crew trained to re-assemble Meadowlark Log Homes and he lives in Canal Flats British Columbia. They are very capable and do a superior job for our Canadian customers.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial Thanks for the answer, I see that it is difficult to do .. if I don't try, I will do it myself with my strength and staff.!? Hello and all the best.!👍🍀💕🍷🌿✌
How much was the construction for the basement foundation? I'd be interested in a full basement just not above ground.
Awesome house, love your builds.

@@olwen.6938 Nice, I need to learn how to work in the unreal engine
I am sure you did but did you glue and screw that plywood or flooring to those joists? I have a manufactured home and they only used nails and every inch of my flooring in my house squeaks like there’s no tomorrow I absolutely hate it. Unfortunately the manufacturer went belly up and I can see why. Would love to have the cabin up where it’s at though that’s beautiful
Agree, nothing beats glue and screw !
