Does the attractiveness of signing Douglas Luiz change if Mikel has decided he wants to play Rice more as a #8? It would be an explainer for me as to why the club wouldn’t go in for him if there was an open lane, although I do think Villa will try to sell abroad before they sell to Arsenal.

Douglas Luiz is not it, good, but nothing special We have Rice Jorginho and Partey for the base, dunno why we arent looking for a more creative, ball playing option to get our left side functioning again Someone who can play as left 8 but also act as cover for Odegaard at right 8 Rice at left 8 for some games is fine, but lets be honest the left side still didnt function with him there any more than it did with Havertz there, for me Rice is a 6. He still gets opportunities to get forward as most teams park the bus against us
DOUGLAS LUIZ, Connor Gallagher a much better fit for our style of play and miles better !! Please dont keep holding out for Partey to play a big part in next season, heard he as already dropped the Dummy on he's big toe , forget him, unless a bit part player !!. 👍👍

I dont know abt that. Luiz yes if possible, will be massive signing, but his injury record could be a problem. I don't know what Arsenal is going to do, but I am not sure about this window. Its a tough window where you need a few players but sell also, and the ones coming need to be better than ones leaving and reasonable in price. Its tough!!

My issue with Martinelli is decision-making and his head-down style. You can't teach that.
Luiz as our 4th option in our midfield would be perfect. I think Statman Dave nailed it when he said we offer ESR +cash to land him.
