What an interesting place to.explore. I am very glad you were safe while you were there. I'm trying to imagine it in its prime. Thanks for taking us along, Andrea and Steven. 👏🏻👏🏻🤗🤠🏜💛
I like how it's out in the middle of nowhere. The lay out of the house is a bit funky but the expanse of the fence wall around the house is amazing. All that rock took work along with the railroad ties. Maybe that is why they left they ended up being too old to run the ranch. You just never know what happened. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you and your family. 🥰👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
It certainly was a strange layout but what a great property. You’re right Rose, you just never know what happened to the owners. Now it’s left to time and the desert weather.
I sure did enjoy your explore guys👍 The remote Arizona desert is my absolute favorite🏜️ My favorite moment of your video was at 10:35 and your dance at the end Andrea☺️💯 Loved the BBQ courtyard with the "crazy paving" The wrap around porch would have been a nice relaxing viewing area in Arizona with our hot summers & cold winters❣️That property must have been alive with about 12-15 or more folks living there. Such a cool place. I love how the border agent turned you onto this abandoned border ranch!!😃 See ya soon guys❤️
🤣just a little gig at the end. Yes, what a fantastic place to live. We wouldn’t have known about it if it hadn’t been for the border patrol who told us about it. There are rumours that the cartel has used it in the past but we don’t know that for sure. Happy you joined us on our explore. See you soon
What a neat place! I would love to take ownership and rebuild the place. Easily done. That huge stone fence for the yard is fantastic. Love the bbq and the house is huge. If you didn't mind living on the border it would be a great place to fix up.
Interesting explore! I suppose the pit could be used for auto/truck repair, but I can't say that I've ever seen one with a built up lip around it. My first thought when I saw it was a flywheel pit for a steam engine. I expect there would be other evidence around if that were the case. Someone else mentioned livestock dipping, but the tank looks too small and rough for cattle and I would be guessing sheep if that was it's use? There was a time when people used the old wagon wheel steel rims to hang flower boxes on. I think the observation platform is a much later addition ... maybe used by the border patrol, or hunters.
We were fortunate enough to meet a Border Control Agent who suggested we explore this abandoned ranch. Unfortunately, there is quite al lot of miss information on line about its history and who owned it, but the last occupants left in 2016. This is now BLM land. Yes I'm curious now, because according to public information. Directly from maricopa county assesors office. It's still owned. Although its surrounded by BLM land. If you have any way to verify this claim would be awesome. As you're right. Especially amongst locals, we are trying to figure out what the deal is. It's a hot topic for sure and I've spent a lot of time myself researching the owners
@@Deathloec we actually filmed this in 2022. Didn’t know it existed. Weren’t able to find much out about it. The boarder agent said “there’s something you’d be interested in down there “ so we went. Sorry we aren’t able to tell you anything else. You probably know more than we do. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@@PinInTheAtlas Its been a hot topic lately amongst locals. I've been digging into it personally. Thanks for getting back to me. It's def a cool spot to check out. I've been there a few times. Its surrounded by BLM land and the trail goes right through it, but according to Maricopa assesors office its owned. There is another parcel south of there, not as interesting. Owned by the same family. I hear conflicting stories. Some say its BLM. Some say its private. Records say its private. Not really sure LOL
I think I had Miss Information for fourth grade; she was a fun teacher. Seriously though, I kind of like these abandoned ranches. Probably because of the space, which I have never had.
Someone put a lot of time and effort into that place. Rock walls, buildings made out of railroad ties, lots of cement. Must have been something back in the day.
No not today. There's a reason this was abandoned. Being close to the border is number one. It just isn't safe to live there anymore. We have friends who have run a ranch very close to the border. They have seen and dealt with some horrific things.
Howdy Pin ! What a great Video and place to get back to catching up with you two. My apologies, my attention has been on other things, mainly getting out of California. Such a shame that the people that had the dream and vision to build such a place, had to probably see it disappear, slowly, right before their eyes. Such a shame, it was probably pretty great, for a while.
Mom, Brother, and niece live in Bonner's Ferry, Idaho. Actually, I have more kin there. The cold was OK, but as soon as it snowed, I made two Snowmen, and headed south. I'm currently near Lake Mead. Plan on leaving the next morning for Quartzsite. I'm hauling a 16 ft. trailer, and a dog. And we're having fun. Hope to catch you on the road.
Geez, yet another abandoned home and what a size, bloody big joint and such a shame to see it in this state, you would wonder what made them just up and go ???, how many more are in the area ?? good luck and keep safe Cheers
HOPE YOUR DOING WELL,..WAGON WHEELS AND THEIR RIMS WERE BURIED LIKE THAT ALL OVER NEW ENGLAND..AS A KID,THERE WHERE MANY,NOT TO MUCH ANYMORE...SAFE TRAVELS..
Who ever setup and build this ranch. Intended to be there a very long time. The mobile home was from late 1950's to early 1960's. It would have a second door further down. The poke a dot building maybe intended as a place for children maybe? The Tower might have been to watch over the ranch. The ring in the ground could have it been used as swing baby or toddler. In basket or seat. The main building was the Rancher house. I get a odd feeling about the place. Not sinister just odd.
Interesting site. 👍 The ranch house appears to have been very livable prior to its abandonment. Could the tower have been a means of spotting illegal border crossers? How far is the ranch headquarters from the US/Mexico border?
Hi Steve and Andrea - looks a pretty arid location, I don't know what the cattle would eat. Perhaps that's why it is abandoned. Good ranch house, in its day, complete with aircon. Did they have mains electricity, or a generator?
The place is still nice ,it would be a good fixer upper.I wonder why it's so close to the border ,and the guard tower ,to watch out for what or who?Lots of questions And a border patrol makes sure there's no squatters?hum.👍❤️🇺🇸
I guess when it was built it wasn’t as much of an issue. Could be a guard tower. Maybe that’s why they left. Yes border patrol checks on it all the time. Strange layout but a nice place apart from location of course. Thanks for watching Gayle. See you on our next adventure.
Would have been nice in its day. Wonder if the lookout was to check for illegals or private planes. A shame it has gone to ruin. Al least the graffiti losers haven't been there.

Homes that are out in the country, those fences helped keep critters from getting in the yard.
The metal circle by the fire pit is for stacking firewood and the trench in the ground was probably a dipping vat for livestock.
Oh never thought of that Ray. Makes sense on both counts. Thanks for the info.

Man, sweep that place up, hang some string lights, and rent it out for weddings at 20k a weekend! Awesome find, guys! I'd live there 🤷♂️
Exactly we were surprised at how well of shape it is in. Had a nice feel to it and could definitely envision large outdoor bbqs and parties!
