    I'm brand new to BJJ, and this is no joke, but getting on this guy's mailing list and subscribing to his channel is the most helpful thing I've done to help me get off on the best possible start.

    Excellent as always. Kesting is an amazing teacher.
    I would love to study under him. He doesn't get all convoluted with his explanations and gets straight to the point. So far, all of his content I have reviewed is as solid as any available and often times far superior to others

    I love that added technique! I've realize I've done this a few times, but not until I see someone recognize it as a technique. Just knowing this will keep it in my mind. Thanks Stephan!

    This is another of a gajillion terrific tips you have in your videos Stephan and I'm going to use this idea for the Kamikaze Sweep asap. I've used a version of this tech already but the details you and Ryangle supply are of the first importance. Thanks guys.

    Very solid technique, especially with the added leg movement. The judo style "big wheel" motion with the hands on the ground is a great way to break their balance and finish the sweep. Thanks for the vid!

    Just drilled this a couple of weeks ago. In practice, it seems like it mostly serves to create some space to get the underhook, since usually people post out to avoid the sweep. And who doesn't want an underhook, right? :) Great stuff -- thanks!

  • @Henryxedge
    @Henryxedge 4 года назад

    People usually post out but I always use it to get out of a bad position and regain my half guard! Def an important sweep to have in your arsenal!!!

    since watching this video months ago, i've sweeped so many of my fellow white belt practitioners countless times!!! awesome technique that works really well!
    im yet to try this on someone more experienced, but i'm sure if done properly, it will catch some of them by surprise, thanks a lot!!!

  • @owendavids8391
    @owendavids8391 10 лет назад

    Thanx so much Stephan I kept getting caught in half guard and found myself using the leg hook to prevent a bad position from getting worse by not letting them pass but didn't have much else I could do from there besides that. Can't wait to try the clothesline one because as you said if it doesn't work I can still use it to get the underhook and then take the back.

    cool sweep. good to know if your opponent bases with the arm the same side they're being swept to, you can regain a better position.

    @jamiegee123 you push the face with the bizeps. It should hurt less than it is annoying to your opponent and forces him to move his face sidewards. You need to push the face since thats the weakest point to attack with your right hand as seen in the video. Pushing the neck will not move the body of the opponent sidewards because the neck has more power to ressist your right hand push.

    I like this sweep cuz you don't have to be up on your side to do it. I get stuck here a lot with guys that have a good amount of weight on me. The thing that makes this sweep good is that the bigger they are the easier it is :)

    @akums47 depends on what level your talking about. Its much longer than just learning one martial art because, as im sure you know, mma ( mixed martial arts ) uses various styles....the most common of which are boxing, kick boxing, wrestling, and brazilian jiu jitsu as well as others. So as i said above it depends on what you consider " learn" to mean. You learn some math in grade school and you can say you learned how to do math but you can keeping learning more.

    why does no one ever sweep to the side that you have the leg hooked on. I mean, you already have the leg neutralized from bridging, and you can easily either a) grab the arm on the same side, or b) half the time they already do the work for you by putting their arm behind your head.

    @akums47 To fight in an actual mixed martial arts scenario I.E something like UFC it would take roughly 4 years to even truly consider it, but breaking down different components of it you could probably get away with doing it in half the time. I.E kickboxing or Jiu Jitsu, at least as far to my knowledge correct me if i am wrong someone.
