This is one of the few reasons I’m glad I’m as old as I am that so many of these songs are almost part of my DNA and had a profound effect on who I am.
Yes, as a white kid growing up in the south in the 50s and 60s, Dylan, Dr. King, Kerouac, the Beatles took me away to an awareness of the wider world. Dylan sang this song at Dr. King's March on Washington in 1963. This song has not lost it's power after all these years.
@@mikefannon6994 You do realize that's not Bob Dylan singing this song, right? It's really a pretty poor imitation from someone else singing one of Dylan's greatest songs.
I don't know who this is singing, but it isn't Bob Dylan. The real Bob Dylan singing "Blowin' in the Wind" can be found here: ruclips.net/video/MMFj8uDubsE/видео.html
I heard him sing this in person many times when he was just starting out. I got the "Freewheelin'" album when it first came out and played it a million times back then, so when you said this wasn't Dylan singing I went back and played the original again. I think you're right. Not only doesn't it sound like him, but some of the lyrics are different. It might be a remastered version or it might be someone else singing. Not sure.
Sometimes when people are posting music on RUclips they change the pitch or tempo or both in order to get around copyright restrictions. I think it's him.

This and many other songs by Dylan are the reason he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016. Your reaction is precious, as is Dylan, a National Treasure.
My husband of 30 years would play this continually on his guitar in the other room. He passed away in August and I miss hearing the sounds of his love of Bob Dylan and other genius musicians echoing through the house. Also listen to Jimmy Hendrix's version of 'All along the Watchtower'
Hi. I live on the other side of the world to you and am old enough to be your grandma. It's kind of a jolt to me to realize that there's a generation that probably has barely heard of Dylan, and especially of his astounding songbook of the 60s. (And beyond, of course) Blowin' in the Wind? Well, if you could only choose one song that would be the one. As I watched you discover it, I felt relieved that the future may be in some good hands afterall. It gave me much joy to recognize in you a sensitivity and openness to important, universal ideas and ideals. There is much wisdom in heeding words from the past, to question and to learn. May I encourage you to keep exploring your world - be awed, be challenged, be connected, be delighted. I would be so proud if you were my grandson. 💛 🇦🇺
Undoubtedly the greatest lyricist of modern era... Though he doesn't have a top song in us musical charts but his songs did get top spot as covers. Hey JB I'm a new subscriber and I absolutely love watching your reaction to these timeless incredible songs. We wanted equality and equal rights for everyone. I pray we can find that common ground and come together again for peace love and understanding. A great Dylan song to look into is A Hard Rains Gonna Fall. Peace and love to all! ❤️❤️❤️

Bob Dylan, real name Robert Zimmerman...a true poet. He's been writing songs since the early 60s, and he's 80 in May. Bob and Joan Baez were musical partners and lovers at one stage.
