Good games and nice event, but the commentary was terrible. The commentators literally turned into USA fanboys. I don't think it is possible to be more biased. And Punk is good, but NO he is not the greatest street fighter player of all time.
This is why I love offline tournaments. It is SO much better than online it's not even close. Problem X entertained us with his character picks thorughout the tournament. This was a great final. Both Redbull Kumites the best Street Fighter Tournament in 2021 in my opinion.
Alex and Honda are for entertainment and study. The shit just got real when Bison came in and took 5 straight games for a complete download. Amazing performance by ProblemX and kudo to Redbull Kumite for quality tournament.

So basically it's a game against Punk's pride, and that's sadly very easy to manipulate. Watch Punk continue to try Karin against Mister Crimson even though that is another bad matchup and he could win it in his sleep if he used Rashid or Claw. Punk should have done what was necessary and used Kolin.

I think the crowd buff is real. When they were chanting hard for Chris over Punk, Punk started playing poorly. He also wasn't wearing headphones so he was fully aware that the crowd wasn't rooting for him. I think that can have a real impact. NL could have been affected by this as well because it seemed all the commentators and the entire crowd was behind ProblemX and didn't want NL to win.
I didn't like that either. I was not the only one spotting this, thankfully NL could perhaps fight against ProblemX alone, but not against ProblemX plus the crowd and commentators. We will never know.
NL had headphones and he lost fair and square. Let’s not forget that Cammy is a bad matchup for Bison and Nobody was holding NLs controller but himself. Giving him excuses downplays Problemx’s skill. NL was washing him 3-0 but when problem started the comeback everybody was on his side. Everybody loves a good comeback from an underdog.
Commentators started cheering when Problemx started making a comeback and the crowd is actually there to cheer and support who they want. That’s how fans work you can’t ask them to be neutral. Even if they were Still wouldn’t have prevented that ass whooping tho.
Damn, the EU is actually on par with US and JP after problems win! They should have their own league at this point and would have to a three way fight in the international finals.

I was thinking the same thing. Plus having a whole conversation and calling the match right next to them seems distracting as hell. I also thought it was pretty unprofessional for the announcer to pressure the Honda pick like he did. Even though it didn't affect the match it seemed unnecessary. If he was thinking about using bison and only picked Honda to please the crowd and then lost the set I think a lot of people would be calling the announcer out on it.
See 21:25 for a decent whiff punish, but you have to be ready and perfectly spaced. EX is + on block and fastest recovery. On block, you won't punish anything other than a poorly spaced light or medium scissors and even then only with a lp/lk combo. Frame data is your friend.
