I think your forgetting about Montego Bay, they also have a lot of furniture store, including Active, Ashley, Shein store and plenty more. I would prefer buying furniture in Jamaica than shipping, the hastling of clearing and delivery.

I don’t know how it’s done in the US but in the UK when you’re returning home there is a concession on a container I believe and it’s a one off thing but very great help. That would have been a great idea. Maybe you could check it out for the USA if you’re needing anything else? Bless
I don't know how Customs work in Jamaica, but I know here in the USA, the government allow returning citizens to bring in a certain amount of items without having to pay Customs fees. I believe most countries have programs that allow returning citizens to bring in a certain amount of items without having to pay the customs fees. There are usually forms that have to be filled and approved prior to shipping. I saved $$$ in customs fees, but it has been almost 40 years, lol!

I now know of the returning residents package for furniture and your vehicle or maximum 2 vehicles. I think as you say, may work best to shop round back there for items or if I have good pieces or can get items on a sale. The only thing I know from here in the UK, quality pieces are at such extortionate prices even when on sale that I may be better off buying bulky items from there. I also think of the distance and length of time to get there from here. Overall as you say, I just need to do what works out best. Thanks again..keep going with your vlogs, very entertaining. I love your journey. Oh, I have a suggestion regarding your shoe rack in the sitting room, why not get a shoe cupboard? This would be perfect and doesn't need to be big, you can even add things on top as accessories such as ornaments or flowers 🎉 etc 😊
Also should mention that there are two Jamaican expat sites that offer a wealth of info on moving to Jamaica. One is Black expats in Negril and the other is Black Exodus living local in Jamaica
That sounds like a great idea. I sometimes think I would just buy some things from Florida which is close to the Caribbean instead of shipping all the way from here ie the UK.
Courts is a joke. I have contacted the two branches located in NY hoping to buy here and have them deliver it straight to my JA home on two separate occasions two different employees told me straight out that their mattresses were no good. Whether this was a ploy to get people to buy higher end stuff I don’t know but they were extremely unprofessional and off putting. Plus their furniture just seem like junk to me.
