I know exactly how you feel - I feel the same about my old Renault Megane coupe (also my first car)...I don't care that it isn't the greatest car on the road; it's mine, and I bought it with money I earned.

haha :D soft top roofs are offered manually in some cars
so which roadster would you choose for this kind of money? the price is relatively high, but the performance (excluding the more expensive boxster) and the quality are top in its class (no reliability issues on current BMW's and the interior is awesome)

No. The three pedals would be gas, brake, and clutch.

BMW should have made a true ///M version with the out going V8
Pick up a 2008 3.0si for a song (around $26K) and you'll have a Z4 with generous trunk space and faster than all but the current top of the line.
On 35is the 7 speed DCT transmission is standart and on 35i it is optional. On the rest of the Z4 line up, the 6 speed is standart and 8 speed transmission is optional. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I would much rather drive the Z4 than the SL550 mainly because of the better technology in this vehicle, and its base price is less than half of that than the base SL550.
the slk is very nice as well but its not cheaper than the z4 and all the aquivalent models are slower!
All engine's have six cylinders? Even the 20i and 23i four cylinder ones. The must keep the spares in the boot. Such an awesome car though. I think of the Etype when I see it
23i is six cyl.
And the 2.0 replaced the 2.3. Only 6. when introduced. 4s came out in 2011.

@Commendatore Had my 2009 23i, 8 years, now 90k miles. No engine or transmission problems. Known faults, tail lights let in water, easy fix. Roof solenoids best changed at 5-6 years. A couple of lose connectors. Manufacturing fault in wiring can cause boot latch problem. Go to the z forums to fix.

obv.you don't say that in the car you are reviewing you have the manual one but maybe someone watching this can think that that's the manual one XD
in europe the nissan costs €41 and the z4 €49 which is not that huge of a difference especially if you also consider that the bmw will hold its value better. and the nissan's interior is very cheap looking plus personally i really dont like the looks of the 370z.

You're right. Whenever i pull up next to Miata, i feel like i came across a kid in a playground riding in his batter toy car.
Recently sat in friends latest MX5. Top of window frame level with my eyes. The interior seems cheap and plain. Top of doors colour coded with the outside. Get that on cheap cars like Fiat, not even padded.

What year is this z4?
Well it was published in 2012 so the 2014 version.
These are the 2009 - 1012 models, the straight 6 engine models. 2012+ started using turbo 4 cylinder engines.
***** I guess so, but it is only available in its twin turbo format for the 335i. They no longer use the naturally aspirated I6 engines in the Z4.

Yes sir, is a very good sports car, not a race car...I have my z4 si 3.0 with the N52, the last atmosferic six cilinder engine produced in BMW with plenty 258hp, may be one of the best engines ever produced for BMW.
It is more a gt-car a cruiser. And i enjoy my z4 3.0 ❤❤

@@flybobbie1449 this exact car is equipped with an automatic gearbox. Which can be used as "manual" but it's not the same as if you have the clutch and you shift gears like that... -.-"

the newer z4s are UGLY. the e85s are sexy. and good resell value?? naww
I had both, the e85 looks 'naked' in the inside, i prefer the newer looks, maybe cause i hd the e85 a long time and the e89 is my current ride but the e85 was much sportier und better to ride in curves
