I loved it that you both went for the slide! Why not? Slides bring out the kid in all of us! This was my favorite part of the video!!!! And so great you can just take a day trip to Billund! 😊
We are two big kids at heart really. Duncan used to be my work boss you know! Lol! There are 3 flights a day from Stansted to Billund so a day trip is fairly easy to plan.
Have done the day trip myself, taxis are quite pricey there. You can get the shuttle bus from the airport and back from the road near the castle hotel. Alot cheaper!
Thank you Iain, I too love it that you both went on the slide. Im also a middle aged man who carries a few pounds so may of got stuck. A great fun vide Iain.
Hello Iain, i rarely comment but just discovered your channel and have been bingewatching all your videos lately. Love your channel and the way you make content overall. Keep up the good work ;)
Enjoyed watching your videos on your trip to LEGO House, I’ve booked a short trip myself due to flight schedules I’ll be there for 3 days. So I’ve booked Legoland also
@@iainsbricks It was wonderful that you featured all the personalized experiences one could have with the wristband. Just for reference, basic US carriers advertise fares for $45, but it's only from certain airports and certainly not from larger cities like New York or Los Angeles. As an example, to fly from Los Angeles to Chicago (just over a 4 hour flight) on a budget carrier is around $450 USD round trip, with fares going higher or lower of $100+ depending on when the flight is booked!
It looked a great day out and relatively cheap too. I’d like to go there myself but don’t own a passport so will have to make do with watching videos like yours.
I did the same day trip last October and throughly enjoyed Lego house. Security at Stansted going out were surprised when I put an empty suitcase through 😂 Loved the video.
Ooh good to see what’s in the Lego store at Stansted I’m off to Poland this week, we’re flying from Stansted but luckily we only live 20 minutes away. Think I’m gonna look at day trip to Billund sounds good
The Lego store at Stansted was fairly small but had a reasonable collection of sets. Avoid Hamleys though. It's an utter rip off. Definitely worth looking into a Billund trip if you live so close to Stansted
@@iainsbricks I was looking at booking a family trip, never even crossed my mind to do a day trip. But watching your video I’m very tempted to go on my own 🤣🤫

Two fully grown men having a fun day out at LEGO Billund, building and buying LEGO, going down slides, doing tourist visits and a McD's on the way home - they only missed out on having an ice-cream. Perhaps a summer visit is required? #bigkids
Hi Paul. We both had a great day. I did visit the Lego House 2 years ago in the summer. It was much nicer weather wise, but I think flights can be a little more expensive then as well.
@iainsbricks I think they mean from Stansted airport. You can buy before you fly, so you can take advantage of airport prices and special offers, they'll give you a ticket and you collect on your return
What a great idea for a day trip even though it must have been exhausting. I take it there wasn’t any flights to Billund from Gatwick as I thought that would be closer to you to start from. Those Hamley’s prices were a bit of a rip off, sometimes I think prices in airports are higher but not this time because I know the prices in the Hamley’s in Regent Street are just as bad.
Hi Barry. Gatwick is actually only about 30 mins less travel for me than Stanstead. Not sure Ryanair fly to Billund from Gatwick. Hamleys prices were crazy, especially as there was a Lego shop just across from it.
Hi Did you guys get a new airport? You are so lucky you could film on the runway. We are not allowed to, in PEI, Canada. Great to see your partner there. Looks like you both a great day out. Never too old to go down a slide.
Thanks Charlotte Unfortunately the Lego Billund Airport set was no longer available. The guy I went with, Duncan is a friend. My partner Anthony stayed at home. Duncan used to be my work boss a few years ago! The airline said devices could be used on the plane, as long as they were in Aeroplane mode - I'm not aware of any filming restrictions in the UK or Europe.
Time wise, I didn't have time to do every single thing in the house, however I had been before, 2 years ago, and most of the attractions were the same. The 7:15 pm flight was the latest flight available back to Stansted with Ryanair.
Very cool, I was there last october and had a great time. Which of the Lego House exclusives has been dropped from active sales now that the new set has arrived? :)
Good to hear you enjoyed your trip there too. The only Lego exclusive sets to retire so far have been 40502 Brick Moulding Machine which retired at the end of 2022.
This is a trip I would like to do from Southampton. How did you buy the one way hold luggage was it directly at the airport? How much was car parking for the day? Do you have a link to the bag you brought?
I'd have loved to have done the flight from Southampton, however it's not currently available, so I had to use Stansted instead. Ryanair let you add hold luggage for just one journey as you buy each journey separately. Parking at Stansted was a very expensive £50 for the day. Bag was from ebay. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225582800177?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5KE1wrDFSTq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=E1dcyD9_R6y&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
oh loads of questions, can you use credit cards for taxis ? to confirm access to the shop is free and not linked to the house tour. whats the limit per item at the lego house? is it easy to get a taxi from the house to the airport? always thought of doing this but small important detils always held me back. loved the video.
Hi, thanks for watching. Yes, you can use credit cards for taxis. They cost 170dkk each way which is about £13. Access to the main area of the Lego House is free. That covers the shop and the restaurant. You only have to pay to get into the Lego House attraction area, which is located on the upper floors. You are allowed to buy 3 of each of the Lego House excuses at the moment, per person, although this can change from time to time. The customer service desk at the Lego House will call for a taxi for you when you ask them. All staff are really nice and helpful.
I did this last year and brought my own boxes. Customs had a good look at it probably wondering why I’m smuggling in cardboard boxes 😂 Did you pay extra for the bag on the way back? I was able to my Lego onboard without extra charge but only had an extra bag and not as much as yours. Great video
Thanks for watching. The hold bag on the was back cost an extra £21, so not too bad. Next time, I'll probably just do what my friend did and just carry everything on in a Lego bag.
Hey. I am doing the same day trip a week Monday. Although i am going with a large case instead… now wish I thought of the fold up bag. 🤦♂️ I might grab one and add it on for my return flight. Those boxes take up more room than I expected. 😂 Did you by any chance claim the VAT back?
Excellent. I hope you enjoy your trip. Those pirate boxes are fairly large! Unfortunately I didn't claim cash back. I got the receipts and everything from the Lego House, but unfortunately didn't realise you need to claim for your tax back BEFORE you go through airport security. I'd checked my big bag in and went through security before I realised. My friend Duncan had all his sets with him so he went back through to the departure area to get his receipts stamped and had to go back thither security check. He got £31 back, so not the end of the world that I didn't get it also. I'll know for next time.
Nice video how u managed to get to lego billund plys how much is lego house ticket and how u get ftom billund airport to lego house Do people speak English in billund
Hi Jamie. We flew to Billund from London Stansted Airport with Ryan Air Tickets for the Lego House worked out at about £31 each. Everyone we encountered in Denmark spoke very good English. We got a taxi to and from the airport which cost 170dkk each way, about £13. You can also get a bus though. It's not that far.
So the flight for me was £34 return, plus an extra £21 for a cargo bag on the way back. It cost me about £40 in fuel there and back from the airport, and parking at the airport was £50 (rip off) for the day, but Duncan paid half. Entry to the Lego House was £31 each. My friend Duncan kindly paid for lunch, the taxis two and from Billund Airport as well as our dinner back home in the UK. My biggest expense was the Lego I bought there. I'll do a video on exactly what I got later in the week.
I was surprised to see how much Hamleys were still a rip off even in the airport. All goods purchased totalled less than £390 so no, nothing to declare
