- Wow what a time to be alive, Rut is premiering tomorrow! • Rut ✦ COMPLETED BRIGHT... I had a really great time working on this part, despite moving three times, getting covid twice, leaving two jobs, taking on three others, losing a friend and meeting someone special. The last four years have been a bit insane, but I am glad that I never gave up on this part, and that the community did not give up on the project either.
Brightheart is one of my favorite characters ever in warriors, I share a similar disability with her in lifelong unilateral hearing loss, and I too survived a nearly lethal attack from a dog when I was young. Getting to see her not only find acceptance in her clan with a full breadth of lifelong relationships was deeply meaningful as a kid, but also to see her accept herself over time in the books has meant a lot to me as an adult. Getting to animate a part in a project that celebrates her choosing not to give up on herself was both exciting and humbling from start to finish.
I also am closing my Patreon at the end of this month. if you want to see any of my past in progress work it's all still up until the 31st, pledge a dollar and you'll find like four years of wips and tricks!

I use TVPaint 11 Pro to animate on my desktop, a custom build pc by Puget Systems funded by my patrons. I use After Effects to edit and composite.

You're such a huge inspiration to me! I have hearing loss in both ears, so cats like Brightheart, Briarlight, Jayfeather and Snowkit are my favourites because they shed a positive light on disabilities in a world where having all your abilities is important to survival. This is such an amazing animation, the way you fit in so much movement wows me everytime!

@@humanbeeing4780 Deaf is defined as lacking the power of hearing, or having impaired hearing. You can be deaf and still have limited hearing ability, many deaf people can hear noise but they lack the acuity to discern speech or directionality (where noises come from). This is true of my left ear. I am also hard of hearing in my right ear, though in many cases I can still hear with enough acuity to know what people are saying. However I have had hearing aids in the past, hearing accommodation in school, and may soon start working toward a cochlear implant as my hearing has been diminishing with age.

Cinderpelt so happily watching her sister do what she couldn’t do, encouraging her to push forward because she has the chance to do something she couldn’t. There’s no bitterness at Brightheart being able to pick herself up, just support and love….
Longtail being there to support her too, seeing her succeed because swiftpaw couldn’t. He feels no resentment at her making it through, just pure joy that she was able to make it, that his dear apprentice’s sacrifice wasn’t in vain, that he gets to see brightheart be the cat she was supposed to be before the attack

Longtail holding Brightheart's tail! Cloudtail crying happily (and wiping away his tears)! Firestar jumping down from the Highrock (presumably to go congratulate her up close?)!
He goes down to make her an official warrior and change her name to Brightheart, I'm pretty sure!
The details in this are PHENOMINAL!
I couldnt help but notice at 00:11 , when Brightheart stands up, the cat on the left (Mousefur?) actually moves because her tail has to brush by them!!

This is absolutely gorgeous. I love the Cinderpelt at the end, it’s really sweet. Reminds me of how much I would’ve loved more interaction between Cinderpelt and Brightheart in canon

This has to be one of the most beautifully animated MAP parts I’ve ever seen!
I don't think i can put it into words of how inspiring you are to me. Your art is so fucking beautiful, and it makes my day everytime you post. Your animations never cease to amaze me. The expressions in your animations are so fluid, you can almost feel the characters pain in the animation. Keep up the awesome work! ♡

Omg you are so good at this and you was the first warrior animator I saw and I immediately fell in love with your art.
The first video I saw was the long tail fight and then after that was the bramble/hawk fight.
And you are a inspiration for me and I’m trying to do animation as good as you but no one will ever be as good as you.
