I actually watched Air Crash Investigation videos to try and help with my fear of flying before my first ever flight back in 2014 (which was to Germany, funnily enough). My reasoning was that they usually tell you exactly what went wrong, and what the airlines have done to prevent the same thing from happening again.. (I also recognize the "ghost plane" video mentioned here) ...Didn't help nearly as much as chugging a double IPA and a taking a shot of Jäger just before boarding.
