      You're welcome, and thanks. We had hoped to stay on a little longer than we did, but $7,200 in 1989 was a certainly a decent amount to walk away with. I've been on a couple of other game shows since, most recently as a showcase winner on The Price is Right. It was taped on the first day in the show's new studio last July and aired 9-26-2023.

      @@cindyhopkins7299 I had them in storage on VHS, then two years ago had the digital conversion done by a shop in Hollywood. Now they're preserved for eternity on RUclips.

    When "Buffalo Bob" Smith asked "What time is it?" They always said, "It's Howdy Doody Time!" To us, we thought for example... It's 3 o'clock or 3:30.

    06:46 - lol, I thought Marc was going to slip out, "Double Dare" from his mouth. Hope one of these episodes of Couch Potatoes, mentions Super Sloppy or Family [FOX edition].

    We should also be reminded that there were markets that still aired the WHYY episodes of Double Dare through Friday July 14, then began airing the Universal Studios FL episodes the following Monday.

      I interviewed Marc for a radio show I was doing at the time and not only did he mention that he was commuting between L.A. and Orlando each week, but he admitted that he was deathly afraid of flying. It's showbiz. You gotta do what you gotta do, I guess.

      @@jamesmoss3424 Well, we won $2,400 each. I'm sure it didn't take us long to spend it. As for Marc, I got something better than an autograph. He invited me back to the studio the following week to record an interview with him for a radio show I was co-hosting at the time. Great guy!

    The bonus round was too easy. What should happen if a contestant misses or passes on an answer that channel should be thrown out.

    • @reedberry
      @reedberry  8 месяцев назад +2

      Ok, let's go back in time 35 years and change the rules. Lol. Personally, I think they made the bonus round fairly easy so as many teams as possible would win the $5K. It was a generous amount but not a huge prize compared to other game shows of that era.

    The Teen week Joe A. said was coming next week aired the week of 5/1-5/5/1989, and on the previous two episodes posted, he said it was coming in "less than two weeks", indicates the airdates for the three episodes posted are 4/20, 4/21, and 4/24/1989, and this one is from 4/24/1989. This episode, however, appears to come from a Summer 1989 rebroadcast, as Jim McKrell(best known for hosting Celebrity Sweepstakes in the mid 70s) is the announcer on the fee plugs, and he announced the last few first-run weeks of series, also(Joe Alaskey was not present for those last few weeks, either, and Jim McKrell was not shown on camera)
