- This is a rundown of every hit song present on the MuchMusic Countdown in 1995. Let's bring some Canadiana to nostalgia playlists! These have been my pet projects for a while because I'm a bit obsessed with old-school MuchMusic/can-con in general.
Presented for archival and reporting purposes under fair dealing/fair use. I am not associated with Much, Bell Media or any record label/media company.
Videos that have been lost and do not appear:
- Be Someone - Junkhouse
*Correction note: "Ode to My Family" by the Cranberries peaked at #10, not #1.
Countdown information for this year was found at: hitsofalldecades.com/chart_hit... - Видеоклипы
1995 is the year that Mrs. Frizzle and her class learned about butterfly camouflage. It's also the year Gromble said television was bad. Oh, and 1995 was the year the children's live-action horror show, Goosebumps, debuted. Oh, and speaking of Goosebumps, the Goosebumps episode, "Phantom of the Auditorium", debuted, which would later appear on the Favorite Canada Episodes list 12 years later, and later reaching the #1 spot in April of 2008.
26 years since those sings!!! Its amazing....
'95 was such an amazing year in film
I sang these in succession. Thanks for the memories. 🥹
Weird memory that this unlocked: Muchmusic never played the actual video for Elastica's "Connection." It was always the video for "Waking Up" with "Connection" playing over it. I think there may have been some edits made to the video so that the lip sync was a bit more passable but it never really looked right to me back in '95 and I couldn't figure out why. I finally put the pieces together when the videos went up online but anytime I see the real "Connection" clip it reminds me of that weird little glitch.
holy nostalgia, thank you
I was surprised that Night Movers was a hit on this chart, since it was a big hit in 1977
This made my week!
1:01 😁
Nautical Disaster is the best song in this video.
Did I miss Say It Ain't So by Weezer?
It didn't chart, surprisingly.
Macarena only peaked at 22? What?!
Yup, I learned doing this that this isn't the regular version of Macarena that got crazy popular in 1996! That version was by the Spanish group Los Del Rio, this one is by a Canadian group called Los Del Mar. It was a minor hit just in Canada a year before the better known one blew up. I only learned making this that the version of Macarena that I knew as super popular as a kid wasn't the one that most of the rest of the world knew!
@@Bored-Music I remember the video of Los Del Mar Macarena it was sexy. Any chance you have that version and could post it ?
I'm trying to find a song that they played on Much Music which is pretty obscure. In the video the Woman singing was in a bathtub of white liquid and after was crawling toward the camera. Anyone remember it?
Around when? Sounds like Stay by Rihanna
Rihanna didn’t exist in 1995 🤦🏾♂️
Where's Bjork?
