Nice tips Felix (excuse the pun) 😃 - I will definitely check them out. Anything to make exhaust tip cleaning easier is welcome 👌👌 thanks for the support!
Gloss Black wheels are hell to deal with. Look Great? Yes. Easy to clean and maintain? Absolutely Not. My truck has 20in Fuel wheels that have a gloss black finish on them (came with the truck), and they're nothing but a pain. Probably 30% of my customer base has them as well 🙃. Unless they're coated super early or before use, good luck keeping them in factory condition. Car looks great btw! Keep up the good work!
This was a great video! I loved the attention to detail and love you gave this car! As a civic Type R owner, something that I did with the exhaust tips was use a paper towel to polish them. I didn't have to permanently ruin any rags and the exhaust tips came out looking showroom new, even on the inside. Hope this helps you for future videos. Great work on this one!!
Thanks my buddy! 👌🤟 Price varies on what's being done and also the condition of the car, so it's hard to give rough prices. I'll have my website up and running shortly, it's just being redone 👊👌
Great Video for sure. Braver person than me with the TFR I must say especially with the Type R as arent JDM cars known for very soft paintwork ?. Im intrigued with how you do the door shuts as I do it and water gets everywhere. Please advise me :)
Hi Harry, thank-you! ✊ The TFR is at a safe dilution. I don't go any stronger than 10:1 on the PowerMaxed TFR5000. To do the door shuts without spraying water everywhere, simply switch off the pressure washer and spray ✌️ you'll get a nice low pressure spray that you can handle and it won't go all over the place 🤟 give it a try and let me know how you get on 😎✌️🤟👍👍
i would definitely recommend getting a driller with a polishing attachment to get the inside of those exhaust tips! Awesome results by the way! So sad to see the carbon fiber around the exhaust tips get faded :( Poor car needs a new owner haha
Why snowfoam the wheels after you've already cleaned them? Also unclear on why you did the "pre-wash" (wax strip) and decontamination before the contact wash? Wouldn't this be more effective once the majority of the dirt is gone giving full clean access to the paint?
Hi Arran, I snow foam the wheels as it's just easy to. It's actually probably harder to avoid them with the snow foam than it is to just let them soak for a bit - it doesn't hurt to hit the wheels again. In regards to the pre-wash decontamination, it makes more sense to decontaminate the paintwork prior to the contact wash so that there is no contamination that could cause marring on contact, plus you can make sure any chemicals are also fully removed from the paint in the subsequent wash and rinse phases 👌✌️ Thanks for the comment and support 😎 it's appreciate. 👍
Hiya mate, brilliant video! Not many people on RUclips that I've been able to find detailing FK8 Type R's so I really loved this! I own one myself, best car I've ever owned. Thanks for the video! I've subscribed :)
Great video and filming. But why do decontamination stage before the contact wash stage? I've always thought chemical/mechanical decon should come right at the end? (Before a machine polish if using mechanical decon like a clay bar) Would be interested to hear your thoughts behind the process, Thanks
Hi Mate - thanks for the comment - great question. I am not polishing the car so the thought process behind the chemical decontamination is simply to remove any iron contaminants that could potentially cause swirl marks during the contact wash phase. It's simply me being over cautious with the customer's car👌
What's the trick for the rims. After I spend a decent amount of time scrubbing my rims, coating them with some kind of products and then driving away my rims are trashed with orange rotor rust. And they need to be Re wiped down well after the first drive. Any way to avoid that? I have the same white Type R actually
Hi Mate, yeah it's an annoying problem. "Hydes Rust Stopper" works really well and is easy enough to apply. Just spray it on the rotors after washing the wheels. The issue is you can't really get to the back of the rotors so it doesn't completely eliminate the rust but certainly improves it a lot. Here's the link: www.motorgeek.co.uk/cgi-bin/ecom.cgi?Command=ShowProduct&db_pid=1178
Thank you for the comment - it's always a toss up on the talking as some people prefer the taking, some people don't 😔 I have a number of videos on my channel without talking BTW if you fancy giving them a watch 👍👍👍
I think you are taking the no touch aspect way too far and its making more work for you and creates the same if not a worse result. the wheel in your b-roll footage still looked incredibly dirty even though it was washed 3 times. There's no way it could be stained that badly. I know I definitely have to go over the wheels again after a wash unless I spend a lot of time on them during the wash and even then ill have to go over them to add protection.
Hi mate, the wheels were heavily stained unfortunately, too much for fallout remover to tackle. I prefer to spend time on the wheels before any wash, it's just the method I use. I don't use a no touch approach, but I try to make sure that when there is touch, as much contamination as possible is removed from the vehicle. This was also a decon wash, so definitely does make the pre-wash phase more drawn out. Thanks for watching and thanks for the valuable feedback 👌👍
@@DevilDeetz with that much staining it’s likely you are the first person to wash those wheel wells or maybe the wheels entirely with any abrasives. That’s an insane amount of staining for a vehicle that is max six years old. I also prefer to spend a decent amount of time on wheels first. I do like how you used two products to add protection and gloss. It really made the white pop. I do find that I can save time by using a good detail spray as a drying aid after a spray and rinse sealant. It might save time and avoid having to touch the car even further.
@@itachi1540 Yeah, it was 100% the first time the wheels had been detailed properyl. Very badly stained.
