Started my journey of blender in March 2024, can't believe it's already rounding off to an year. Loved how I got to learn new things, even made that plushie with the help of your tutorial for someone as a gift, thank you, Kaizen.
Here's a tip to make achieving your goals easier and more adventurous: you can divide your goals up. For example, you set yourself an annual goal for 2025, you think about the steps you need to take to reach your goal and divide it into quarters, months, weeks and days. When you've achieved your goal for the week, you keep going until you're at the top of your mountain at the end of 2025. But to use these methods, you also have to think about what you want to do in your life. Thanks to Kaizen, About a month ago our teacher gave us a task: to model a spaceship. I had never worked with Blender before & I started modeling my spaceship on January 19th. I was blendering every day about 5-7h. I ate & slept from time to time It was a very hard fight but it was worth it. now Im a happier human. Your videos helped me a lot. stay healthy
Thanks for the video ! I’m having tough time founding fun when I hate struggling 😅 but writing down goals surely works ! I want to end my blender course this year even if I know I still have a lot to learn after that 🎉😊
Struggles are part of it and yes, they suck and make having fun difficult. But once you overcome the struggle you can maybe find joy in that accomplishment!
I want to do a lot with blender but i honestly think i won't even get to half of that no matter how i try. For now, my goal for this year is to focus on animation using pre made models. I want to make pbr and npbr posters, scenes, and animations, and that starts with learning lighting, camera work, and volumetrics
I started with sculpting but soon realized that is time consuming and started to use model from Reallusion Character Creator and use Blender to polish the animation I made in other software like Reallusion iClone. Blender has very sophisticated rigging system to handle any kind of animation and now I set my goal to learn everything about Blender animation. I also want to know the secret of Geometry node in making architectural model. In 2025, I want to fulfil those goals.
I would like to work in the video game industry and I already have in mind which studio I would like to work with. But obviously I had to decide what role to do. In the end I decided that I would like to work on the 3D part, but I am having a bit of trouble building a roadmap. As you said in this video, to write down specific goals and I don't know exactly how and choose the right goals
The right goal, in my opinion, is a goal that you can find the energy for to work towards. It doesn't have to be the biggest goal, or a small one either. As long as it's worth it to you to invest time, energy and money into achieving it.
That aim training reference hit home cuz i have bout 700 hrs logged in aim trainers cuz i did that after quitting blender the first time. I recently started just having fun with it and character animation has been easier to take in and i dont get super mad if i mess up i still get heated but then i think of how to fix the issue instead of just hopping on the game.
I'll say a thing or two. Personally, my issues arise mostly at the "Be Specific" phase. Consistency - or lack thereof - doesn't even come into play if you haven't defined what you want to accomplish. I am a person who benefits a lot from having things structured, but I've come to realize that this structure generally needs to come from outside; it needs to be "imposed" on me, for example like a school project. Why? Because I have a hard time defining that structure. For instance, I know I'd like to learn more about animation. That's 1 step further than "I want to learn Blender", but it's still vague, given that there's several branches of animation. Example being I began my journey in Blender by making game assets, and Product Animation intrigues me, so I'd like to apply Product Animation to game assets. You might be thinking - as I was as I wrote that out - "I don't know if you noticed, but that's already quite specific". Indeed, but then the next hurdle comes into play: tutorial hell. Not in the sense of you being lost in just doing tutorials, but rather the issue of where do you even begin, what sort of tutorial should you look for? And, on a different note, 3D in general is like being a kid in toystore (or a candy store). Take your recent video, Kaizen, where you collected a bunch of channels teaching different things. One moment you're watching smth about a specific animation, and then, for whatever reason, you begin watching a video about sculpting, and you feel that giddy urge to learn more about sculpting. What then happens? You put 3D aside because at a subconscious level you can't be arsed to deal with your own indecision. Procrastination it is then...
Haha this is well said! I agree. The solution is to simply dive into something though, however daunting that may seem and take the procrastination for granted on the journey lol
I want to switch to using Blender only in my workflow for modelling and rendering this year; I'm going to be focusing on interior and exterior visualization only.
Yes that is my goal is to become a blender content creator for RUclips and unreal as well. But Good Luck Everyone. I use blender for assets and make a game using unreal engine.
My Goals 1. Reach C1 level English in the next 6 months. 2. Reach B1 level Swedish in the next 6 months. 3. Learn Blender. Start with DONUT. But I want to be like CG Fast Track.( Sorry Kaizen, I love your videos but this is just a goal) 😅
Hi,kaizen. I'm just asking how to think about animation for the product and get idea as your last video for the product you compare with fiver freelancer . 2.if i have no idea what subject to learn and how to get specific in one subject or could do alot to get the concept until get what i should invest to learn it more?
For animation; just study others! Look on pinterest, check out famous commercials, scout Behance or Artstation. See what the big names and popular pieces are doing and try learning/copying from that. Eventually you can work in your own style. As for what to learn; do what you think seems enjoyable. If that is one thing, go for it. IF its a lot of things, try them all out. You won't truly know if you have fun with it if you havent tried it.
My problem is consistency. Started in 2017. Have a decent skill level at this time. End goal is to make my own cartoons. How to get there has also been the problem. It's always aimless. Was never taught self-discipline. Had to learn it the hard way, but getting better in some areas. Lord be with me and feet fail me not.
@Marvin-vs3tu I know. That's why I decided to name my animation company Future Stories. But I don’t plan on doing all of the work myself. I plan on having a small team when I'm ready. My plans are huge. My friend has spent over 15 years writing his novel and is in the final stages. I'm still working on my novels. In the meantime I want to make prepositions for the show on things I know are final.
My issue is also consistency but mostly from its time consuming Not in the way of creating more specific waiting both devices I have it installed on have GPUs that blender can’t use so rendering is the most time consuming part for me. Sometimes getting to the point where I only do it if I know I won’t need that device for next next couple of hours sometimes leaving things running overnight
