Good video. I could have really used this about 6 years ago when I pulled my DCCD out and swapped it with a used one. Having the other still, I think I'm going to inspect and rebuild if needed.

Thanks, I couldn't justify pulling it out and putting in a used one in the hopes that it works. Although I did do that with the standard wrx center diff.

Hallo. I have a question. What kind of oil do you put in gearbox? Do I need to fill in oil with LS approval? or just need to pour 75w90 for gear boxes?

good stuff, where did you learn that this unit specifically was providing power to the front wheels? I've been on a video bender lately, fascinated by some that I've seen of people managing rear-wheel burnouts in the 2004 and 2005 STIs.
I've been trying to piece it all together and had suspected that this was the case, but this video very helpfully alluded to how it works. It appears the 04-05 6-speeds purely mechanically send power to the rear, and electronically control the DCCD to mechanically send power to the front... It appears that if you click the e-brake up a single notch, the ECU completed disengages the DCCD unit allowing for the MAX torque bias of nearly 10% front - 90% rear, and from there you just do a brake-stand burnout... pretty sick, but I'm trying to figure out where the energy from that 10% front torque is going... probably generating a lot of heat somewhere, i just can't put my finger on it.
Did you also test the electronic component in the DCCD, figure it's a solenoid(s)of some sort?
    Thank you!

Is this the 18+ up centre diff where there is no mechanical LSD within?

This is a 2005, not sure about the 18+ differences.

@@justsendit8280 08+ has a different centre diff design, there is unfortunately no videos on it currently

My STI 07 makes this noise when turning: ruclips.net/video/bXXVEkISBx8/видео.html
Could this be a problem with the dccd or is it the rear diff?
