Green and orange are secondary colours.
Hue = color. Red, orange, yellow are analogous. Primary colors are red, yellow, blue, or better yet, magenta, yellow, and cyan. Green is a secondary color made from yellow and blue. Complementary colors are directly across from each other. That gray scale you mentioned refers to value. Shade, tone, and tint are totally different, too.
Basically just remember RGB and CMYK. That's what I do, lol.
Yeah I got confused at that too, hue was mentioned to say that the step up and down the grey scale can be done with hues, you said red, orange yellow is like a step in hues to darker values, so that means that’s a warm analogue or something💎💎💎🔧? Yeah value wasn’t mentioned that is true , hue is chromatic shift and I think it is only a step lighter cause u buy a yellow or red hue, it’s been mixed with white🦠🦠🔫 damn the rainbow shift is sexy, I just finishing one up I share it with if u like t c💊💊💊💊🔬?
Went to watch his video from 11 years ago on how to make a custom marker and now this man has improved so dam much it’s impressive.
Super good. Great to have you show a couple of examples really helped make the message sink in for me.
Just really getting back into tag work & throwies after almost 20 years inactivity. I’m 41 and disabled now so can’t see myself running the tracks anymore 🤣 but the sticker scene seems dope. My tag was one letter off yours - SIZE. I’ve been using Procreate for about four years or so but may have to grab some pens and stickers! Love the channel, bro. Subbed & binge watching your vids 😎
41 disabled artist and also revisiting my youth on Procreate. 🤣
What happend to you?
32, not disabled and revisiting my past as well 😂
Get eggshell sticker with oil based markers.
This is by far the best explanation of this on RUclips
I'm new in the channel and i love it. Please teach more about lettering. Tags, wildstyle, rollups and more...
And how to pick a writer's name!
you're like the bob ross of graffiti, i love this content, i'm still new to graffiti and this is super helpful, thank you
really appreciate u making this, ive watched so many videos on color theory but u speak my language. respect.
great vid, you should go through the steps oh how to make graffiti sketches or different types of pens and what to use or what you use for sketches. keep it up mate. 🤘
THISSSSSS
Thank you for all the tutorials. I have always loved graffiti.
My pleasure! Hope you were able to learn some new techniques
amazing video Sive, couldn't be more in depth especially for beginners with lettering.
Excellent work brethren mcS - love it very inspiring as an amateur artist aspiring to be a professional :)
Question:
What kind of markers are those ?
Wasted an investment in these whack cheapo ones off amazon that bleed thru like crazy and cannot be over layered without mixing unapologetically...
Sive back with the heat
Cheers!
thanks for the help Sive! another great vid. keep it up!!! 👌
Much love boss🤘🏼 stay up
Super entertaining, very useful and fun to watch! Thx man! 8) PD: Wooooohooo... The final piece is sooo beautiful!! Love it !!!
Ayo, big ups
Hey Sive next tutorial should be how to colour graffiti with cheap markers.
I liked how you broke down the way colors work. I'm new to your channel and really liked the different graffiti letter style videos. I really like how Tag looks but for whatever reason mine just don't come out that well. Maybe that'd be something to teach.
Primary colors are red yellow and blue not green green is made up of blue and yellow it’s not a primary, it’s a secondary color just like orange and violet, One stupid question though and what is the complementary of brown? Great video 🌗💐🐉
brown is not a "color" per see since it's just dark orange! so the complementary would be a darker shade of blue as well
Such a pro!
Lovin the sticker packs I just got from you. Stay on top. 👑
Good looking out boss!
That bit where you make your eyes go foggy is the first time I heard some speak of this phenomenon which we subconsciously look at something as whole from that perspective
An artist’s essential!
Incredible.
Do you ever find yourself working a piece to death and ending up disappointed with what you end up with?
All the time, but that just means it’s not finished yet. I must have draw ten different s’s for this one. Had to start on a fresh sheet and trace it for the outlines because all of the page was chewed up haha
you covered this topic in a very simplistic way ..thanks
With that red orange yellow fill in its actually better to do the red/darker shades at the top to make the white highlights stand out more
its crazy that he only has 130k subs, for how high quality his vids are
Super helpful on the use of the color wheel
thank god you posted wohoo!!
Those 3D-lines will come handy tip. :)
I thought Red, Blue, and Yellow were primary colors?
Can you make a video on how to make those cool drops next to your letters. Might just be me who has a problem with that thought.
The bubbles? Yeah I’ve been thinking anoint doing a background tutorial!
"The classic red and yellow is always hittin'"
all i can say is your amazing bro just amazing keep going keep growing
Primary colors are: Red, Blue and Yellow. Not Green!
Thank you!! Love the break down.
Best graffiti tutorials on RUclips ever. Thankyou brother. Keep them coming.✌
I appreciate that! Thanks for checking them out
que bien pintan los rotuladores, que papel es?
It is a big role of poster paper. Nothing super special
thanks mate!! really usefull. good luck everyone!!
Stay up boss!
Love the channel bro, would love to see you do more graffiti pieces like this.
Thanks Sive I have a bunch of plain white graffiti art but I just don’t know how to color them👊
Awesome! Best of luck
Id be willing to bet that the musical "circle of fifths" would work perfectly on the color wheel.
Light and sound are both waves, always fun to find symmetries between how they act
Super helpful!!! tyyy
Cool , learning from this video
Whenever you draw that crazy cool graffiti does the way you draw that just come to your head or do you still use a format for it?
It’s a learned process and style, not just random
Can you make a more in depth tutorial on how to do the piano key shadows and if you can do them on any style of graffiti?
Just do regular 3d add white lines inside of said 3d. If your 3d goes to left add white or any other colored stripes that go to left. You can do it on any style. I would not use them on throw ups tho, only pieces
value (light//dark) doesn't really effect hue when defining hue. hue is just the color. yellow is a hue. blue is a hue. it doesn't matter how light or dark the color is...yellow is yellow. doesn't matter if it's a dark or light yellow. in this application where saturation is sort of out the window, it makes sense to mix hue and value. graffiti using high opacity specific materials like acrylic based markers and spray enamel paints, saturation is more of the technical application and less to do with how it effects the colors...HOWEVER the distinctions between value and hue are important anywhere from tattooing to traditional studio painting to graphic design to print making and everywhere in between.
Hey Sive,
do you have any tips on how to get better?
Study! You have to first learn how to learn and then anything is possible
@@S1VE Thank you so much! You're an inspiration :)
Bro this guy is cracked at graffiti what they actual fuck. Maybe he isn't that insane to all the pros of graffiti but I'm a beginner and it honestly looks sick
Great tutorial
Im a fan👌🏼
This was explained so well 🤙🏻
Glad I found this. Thanks. I subbed!
No problem! Lots more were it came from in the how to series

Very helpful video! Nice job!
That S is killer!
This tutorial is "EPYK" ✌🏻😎 But you gotta do something about the AC noise, buddy.
haha couldn't agree more! updated my setup since editing this guy
Ay y'all, I'm just beginning yo learn graffiti art and this video was super helpful! What kind of marker or brand of marker would you guts suggest?
I’ve been using a lot of artify and Ohuhu lately!
Very helpful tutorial!
Sick ass piece 👌🏼
Finishing touches, shadows, highlights, style additions etc? That’d be epic, awsome work bro 🤙🏻
Green is not a primary color😊
Dope work!
Green is Secondary color boss
Very nice
I think that last price came out dope, but the piano keys were really heavy and took over too much of the 3D for the colours to really pop and come out as the contrasting colours. Gotta give mad respect for the finished product
I just pick random colors 😅 but my stuff ends up lookinh like stained glass
May I ask what pen you are using?
cool video, honestly... but art is whatever someone makes out of the colors.... sometimes a color does not really fit... but if make some outline, shaddow block fill ins.... ect!!! different ball game....! me, guy from the 90s, style and color develops in anybodys piece or artwork!!!! srtill agree with you man, nice video!!!!!!!!
It’s unreal how easy you make it look after every video I go and try do a piece and looks like shit every time 😅
I feel like I’m in graffiti class
Welcome!
I love to draw and I love graffiti , but I'm not good at put the colors together that complement each other do you have any tips , or suggestions on putting the right colors together
Definitely try to clean the color wheel section
When you finished your sketch, did you use another paper? Do you trace it onto another paper?
Sometimes if the sketch gets too messy I’ll go for a fresh start
Guzel bir tarz oldukça başarılı 👌👍🏻😍😍😍❤❤
when you grab some of your fans tags, could you hit off EULE and YOINK for me and my homie? thanks for all the wisdom
What are good types of Pen's to buy for coloring with pls
So goood👍🏼👍🏼
What markers you using?
Is anyone gonna tell him the primary colors are red, blue, and yellow?
Yes i am thinking the same but that's not what our eye perceives, and that's why we have RGB color wheels and let's and displays or RGB Values
❤️❤️❤️
Thats a second outline Not a force field and The orange is Not a drop Shadow thats not how a drop Shadow works
Super informative and helpful! Fresh style as usual 🧨🔥
where do you get the markers
wheres sticker submissions january 2022??
Super bro!!
Can you find these markers at hobby lobby?
No I got these online from blick
Heyy could u advice what pens ur using plss 🙌🏽🙌🏽
these are a mix of dickblick studio art markers and artify
thanks for this
Green is not a primary color...‽
Quality content...
The “3d” part with the background “splash” kinda ruined the design as a whole...for me at least.
Would you say it's important to learn about color theory more in depth?
Personally I think color theory can become a little micro managed which can take some of the fun out of it... but that being said knowing it at a high level is definitely helpful.
