I like how Millenniumforce used the air horn. At 1:43, I saw himself blared the horn (with smoke coming out), and that made me laughed so hard. And at 3:26, he blared his horn, because AMTRAK was heading left (at end). CSX was heading right (at beginning).
I hope you will have tv news crews with you that day. Have you thought of contacting any of them to let them know what you are doing? Even though I will be 3000 miles away, I will be supporting you in spirit. BLOW THEM HORNS!!
Alan, I definitely support you and the train horns. I would love to be down there on the 7th, but unfortunately I have a prior commitment then. I'm also a little over 1000 miles away. I will find a way to support you on RUclips!
....but the horn is an effing warning signal. That's how I learned to stay away from railroad tracks when I was a kid somewhere around 3-4 yrs old. Sure I ran away to hide under the slide at a nearby playground when I heard the thing, but the horn is what stuck in my memory. it's what made me form the connection railroad tracks=danger. Stay away. I can't believe this asinine idea even entered someone's head "no horn zone". Bulls**t.
QUIET ZONES ARE A BAD IDEA, at my last residence 1,000 ft. from the UPRR mp 372 (Bellaire Blvd.) a FATAL accident occured & the Ford F250 pickup had to be loaded on 2 flatbed trailers, couldn't be towed, a KCS freight with DPU drug it aboout a half mile from the impact point, (Without the DPU, it may have taken a mile to stop the train.). Cheers from Deer Park, Tx. where I'm 2 miles from the closest track & if outside can hear trains on the PTA/UPRR line at Tx-225 & Center St. on a cool evening. ;-)
Did you see that dash cam video out of a no train horn zone in Mokena, Illinois? The crossing gates, lights and bells malfunctioned and the cop and another motorist came perilously close to being struck by a Metra train. Train horns may be loud and obnoxious but they help keep people safe.
This is a thing? In British Columbia, here in the lower mainland, the freight trains going in and out of the port of Vancouver blow their horns all the time, regardless of what residential neighborhood they travel through. The long distance and commuter trains do the same. I don't think I would be comfortable around a rail crossing if I didn't know I'd hear the train coming a mile away via its whistle.
I personally think that a train horn is a critical peice of safety equipment. It's basically the only thing the engineer has at their disposal to prevent accidents. It can't stop quickly or swerve to avoid a collision, it can only blast the horn to warn others to move out of the way.
i think you are the best train person ever. trains have horns for a reason. you should have known the train noise consequences. if you dont want the noise dont live near it. or have your job near it
Train horn bans are unrealistic, dangerous, and costly. Accidents are inevitable once horns go silent. I would certainly have joined you if I lived in Florida.
Mellenium's reactions to the trains is still wicked funny as usual!!!!!!! They really should remove all quiet zones from all railroad lines in the u.s. and if people don't like that, move somewhere away from the tracks. Trains should be doing that for safety.
Awesome video Alan! I hate quiet zones, they take away the enjoyment of railfanning! Over here, we have quiet zones in Sugar Land, Stafford, Missouri City, and along the UP Terminal Sub. I would love to go there and show the horn support only if I lived in Florida, and I SUPPORT HORNS ALL THE WAY!!!!!! Screw quiet zones....
Wish I was able to be there, I'd get a crate of those horns, and hag out in that 24/7 blowing them, lol Good Luck on the Rail Fanners Rally, Blow them Away! Larry :o)
unfortunately, the idiots who have authority have listened to the other idiots who complained about it first, not realizing the horns are used to protect and alert all to their presence. :o)
Larry R Wendell Jr you want to know something? A couple months ago I read this article about some guy on a personal/probably merciless mission, yes mission to KO horns being blown at grade crossings, particularly in Bethlehem, PA. What he doesn't realize is horns are used to warn cars, pedestrians and so on of a train's approach or worst case scenario, warn a trespasser to get off immediately. I'm hoping this guy fails in his mission. There's at least a few railroads somewhere in the U.S. where there's at least one line that's a quiet zone the entire way, literally. Here's the link if you want to take a look. www.lehighvalleylive.com/bethlehem/index.ssf/2014/05/bethlehem_man_on_quest_to_stop.html
Millenniumforce Wish I could've been down in Florida when this happened last year. Just saw the recent video about the no horns and the woman getting hit because there aren't any horns to warn her. CSX needs to bring those horns back.
Sorry late posting. What is the function of train horn in railroad crossing with gates? And why the last blast must be in US as late as the train passes the crossing? In Finland, Europe train dont blow a horn anymore at all. They ignore it before the level crossing without gates, bell, light, stop sign and its location EVEN behind the bend. The regulation changed in 2005. In 1973 they stop to use the horn before crossing with gates and while passing another train. The same time daylight running lights were taken on use. It was changed to hight beam in 1992 and flurescent colour sticker installed 2013 on the nose of locomotive.
Amtrak and AWVR Fan I TOTALLY agree with you! All it does is encourage already careless people not to take responsibility for their actions. By the municipal ordinance actually interfering with a FEDERAL, what message does it send people? "Its OK to walk in front of train, there are no consequences, it'll be the train's fault............." Just like for parents to spank their disobedient kids to be considered "politically incorrect" these days. It's no different!!
lol i would definitly do that if i was down there shoot i would follow the trains through those 6 crossings and blow that K5LLA at every one of those too
Blame WEALTHY REPUBLICAN LAWYERS for no horn ordinances, it happened here in Texas 5 years ago & while the prior 10 years there had been no accidents at 3 near by grade crossings, within the past 5 years there have been 3 FATAL accidents at 3 crossings within 2 miles of track & who knows how many close calls.. This is one reason why railroads are now equipping locomotives with CCTV cameras (Usually on conductor side of windshield on Amtrak, BNSF, CSX, KCS and UP locomotives, NS has cameras on engineer side of newer locomotives (They appear as a white box just inside conductor side of windshield near center post.) The no horn ordinances can be repealed, just don't vote for Republicans in Congress as well as state legislature..
It's not a partisan issue. My hometown of Berwyn, IL (a few miles from Chicago) is a liberal, democrat city that has imposed the "Quiet Zone" for trains. Canadian National and BNSF go through the city and ever since, there's been a notable increase in accidents and deaths crossing incidents. You're right about Quiet Zones being dangerous, but just want to put my 2 cents that it's not partisan.
How many dashcams are there of trains sounding their horns, yet still hit something? Why? Because someone knows that the horn is sounding that a train is coming and they have two intentions in mind: 1) Beat the train. 2) Suicide by train. New Zealand has quite a few videos of close calls, regardless of the train horn. The woman locked in a police car hit by a train? The cops didn't respond to the horn because it sounded normal to them as the train approached the crossing. Didn't prevent injury to her as she was handcuffed and locked in a police vehicle parked on the tracks. The fatality of a woman hit by a train in Champagne, Illinois? Three other people ran across the tracks, despite the warnings. Railfanner videotaped her getting splattered like a tomato across the front of the lead engine. Train sounded its horn. Minivan driven by mom speeding across train station parking lot to beat the train to the crossing? Hit by by not ONE train, but TWO trains. Mom and 2 of the 4 kids dead. Other 2 kids critically injured. Minivan was smaller than a sardine can.
Don't get rid of the horns they save lives and sound AWSOME
Right
Train horns are safety reasons
If someone is in danger you still are allowed to honk, quiet zone just means that no honking to announce yourself.
Yeah definitely.
And echos they generate.
Yeah I uncovered my ears while a train blew and it was AWESOME I’m with u
I agree with all of you
I don't live around there, but if I did I would certainly come! Good for you Alan!
Alan...check out my 17May2014 video from Maiden Rock, WI...wonder what the outcome would have been had there been no horn?
Peace and quiet my ass! The louder the horn and bells, the better!!!! I LOVE LOUD TRAINS!!!!!!
It’s also for public safety too when there is no horns it’s a safety issue
I live in Maine about 35 miles north of Freeport. The Amtrak Downeaster is no longer using its horn there. When that first happens I was pissed.
I understand that people in Freeport are trying to sleep but I’m just saying because I like the P42DC Locomotive K5LA horns
Without the train horn it can be very hard to tell if a train is coming and it can be very dangerous. I'm with you.
Yeah true but the good thing is that at some crossing's there's quad gates so drivers can't slither around the crossing.
@@cloudy653fuel some idiots might go around the gates though
I like how Millenniumforce used the air horn. At 1:43, I saw himself blared the horn (with smoke coming out), and that made me laughed so hard. And at 3:26, he blared his horn, because AMTRAK was heading left (at end). CSX was heading right (at beginning).
Had I known I would have brought my K5LA down there to help ya out.
To me, it's weird how the sign clearly says "No Train Horn", and yet, when the train comes, it has a horn.
I like how you blew your horn at the sign in beginning. Only if I had my ship horn there.
I'm sorry but I understand the horn's may bother the bordering houses but to me the risk involved out ways the complaint by far
I
Quiet Zones,
The bane of all trains existance
I only came to say that your pfp is the wrong tank buddy
No horns!?!? BULL *HOOOOONK* That had me dying 🤣🤣🤣 1:40
Me too XD 🤣
You mean fart
I hope you will have tv news crews with you that day. Have you thought of contacting any of them to let them know what you are doing?
Even though I will be 3000 miles away, I will be supporting you in spirit. BLOW THEM HORNS!!
Blow baby blow!!! Good luck with your campaign Alan. Love your videos!
Ur the best rail fan in Fla. btw I live in Ft Lauderdale an my dad worked on Amtrak for 38 yrs..
Thank you
NP jus keep spammin my sub box with train videos
I mean there is an A at the end of Florida an Washington is WAS but thanx for commenting on a 2 yr old video bro congratulations 🏆
Just showing u how irrelevant your comment is 😩
Just dont comment on old videos trying to correct someone thats all have a nice life
Alan, I definitely support you and the train horns. I would love to be down there on the 7th, but unfortunately I have a prior commitment then. I'm also a little over 1000 miles away. I will find a way to support you on RUclips!

Good grief... Be very aware of all intersections where cars are ever present! Motor vehicles don't honk at all intersections so be careful!
What if someone is blind? They wouldn't know that a train is coming.
42356426 547787687 the railroad crossing bells dude

Also the horn at 3:26 is hilarious!!!! 😆😆😆😂😂😂😆 #bringbackthetrainhorn!!!
XD 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Quiet zones suck a lot!
Ditto!
These places were fine for years with the horns but now all of a sudden we get all weeny about it like a buncha whiney babies. Let it sound!
c
Janet Vonnik right on!!
and some Railroad crossings in seattle are Quiet zones. :/
Did you see that dash cam video out of a no train horn zone in Mokena, Illinois? The crossing gates, lights and bells malfunctioned and the cop and another motorist came perilously close to being struck by a Metra train. Train horns may be loud and obnoxious but they help keep people safe.
I live in Chicago and I remember that. It terrified me, but I'm glad nobody got hurt.
Horns are what make a train a train!
The horn at 1:42 is hilarious!!!😅😅😅😂 HAHAHA!!!!!
lol Indeed!

Love the air horn! You should have blown it longer, Alan! ;)
"oh wait a minute, amtraks not coming, its a csx train, and they said no horns!? BULL(airhorn)" best line fr
Bullsh(horn) LOL! Perfect Timing Alan! I will be supporting the horn from Indiana, Pennsylvania! Soon to become a quiet zone as well :(
i think you are the best train person ever. trains have horns for a reason. you should have known the train noise consequences. if you dont want the noise dont live near it. or have your job near it
Train horn bans are unrealistic, dangerous, and costly. Accidents are inevitable once horns go silent. I would certainly have joined you if I lived in Florida.
LOL 😂🤣 at 3:24 AHHHH HERE COMES THE AMTRAK Air Horn Blows that’s funny 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mellenium's reactions to the trains is still wicked funny as usual!!!!!!! They really should remove all quiet zones from all railroad lines in the u.s. and if people don't like that, move somewhere away from the tracks. Trains should be doing that for safety.

Flatonia is a great railfanning place, but the only problem is that they made the Glidden Sub there a quiet zone.
Every intersection I’m near is a quiet zone. It’s so boring
I have a railroad spike that was given to me by a retired csx crew and they are really nice friends and the railroad spike they gave me has 1 gg mc
I 100% support the train horns all the way!! 3:38 is my favorite part of this!!! # Shave and a Haircut, Two Bits!!!
I would lay on the horn all the way through town.
The train horn is to warn cars to get out of the way I think and if it train horn stays silent you might not hear a train come
Trains should be able to blow there horns that is stupid that they can't. It is a safety issue that they can't. Good video.
They can if there is danger, but normal day to day cars and people not going over the tracks after the gates are down, no horn.
danwat1234, Sounds totally logical, unlike the FRA's 4 honks per crossing baloney.
I love the part when he was honking at the Amtrak train lol
Also 1:45 lol I can't stop laughing 😂
I'm doing this in my city, they just put a quite zone in
I like the way how you were like Aaaaaaa here comes the Amtrak
I HATE QUIET ZONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you watch my new videos?
Well good luck with the horn campaign. I would love to help, but unfortunately I live in Minnesota.
Joeme s I also do
+bkriegel95 hallo
I support you Alan and the train horns. Blow baby blow!!!!!!!!!!!
I would come but I live in philadelphia. But I support your cause!
*grabs a K5lla and show em whos boss*
Trains were around long before their homes and businesses, screw 'em in the left ear, Blow Gabriel Blow! :o) Another superb video Alan!
Yhank you Larry Wish you were here for it
Wish I was able to be there, I'd get a crate of those horns, and hag out in that 24/7 blowing them, lol Good Luck on the Rail Fanners Rally, Blow them Away! Larry :o)
Stop Look And Listen??? Listen is being taken away
unfortunately, the idiots who have authority have listened to the other idiots who complained about it first, not realizing the horns are used to protect and alert all to their presence. :o)

We should protest against quiet zones.
If it’s a quiet zone. It means it goes through resedential areas
Millenniumforce Wish I could've been down in Florida when this happened last year. Just saw the recent video about the no horns and the woman getting hit because there aren't any horns to warn her. CSX needs to bring those horns back.
1:42 FART
😂😂
Lol
No, it's *1:43** FART*
Great Video! i WISH I Could Go :-l
This horn is a reallyy great. Nice catch😂
1:42. Hysterical!
Sorry, I can't do it. Not in FL this year. I wish you and other rail fans good luck.
With no horns, how long before the first car/train or pedestrian/train death?
***** Really, that long?
***** Unfortunately it's bound to happen.
Maybe a week or two.
DieselElevators wqq
3 pedestrians already have been hit. 1 death.
Awesome video!
when u did BULL honk got me rollin
youve earned my sub, love the video!
Today I'm gonna make a video about my opinion about quiet zones.
I love this video
SUPPORT THE HORNS!!!!!
If people dont like train horns then dont move next to the train.
If no one likes train horns, then what will happen to all the property near the tracks?
@@manfrommilwakee5698 give it to people who love the trains.
That's my dad's birthday!
Hey Alan I have a no train horn zone in my city. how do I bring the horns back?
Taking away no train horn signs and put in the whistle post

If the SunRail incident is an example why horns are needed. If there wasn't the horn blowing she wouldn't have made it out of the car in time.
That's true
true. QUIET ZONES=DEATHS.
Amtrak and AWVR Fan I TOTALLY agree with you! All it does is encourage already careless people not to take responsibility for their actions. Yep I agree
Rail crews can still blow the horn if there is danger near the tracks
I'm really into trains ever sense I've seen my first day of one train 10 years ago
"AAAAAAH HERE COME AMTRACK" Made me laugh so hard.
The horn before the amtrak sounded like a fart LOL
I totally support your protest
0:42 0:43 1:32 1:42 3:50 3:45
What you should do is attach a K5LLA to your car, drive to the quiet zone crossing, and just blow it when a train comes. Now THAT's rebelling.
lol i would definitly do that if i was down there shoot i would follow the trains through those 6 crossings and blow that K5LLA at every one of those too
Wait a minute?! The train is not coming. Is the CSX train, and they say no horns?! Bull! *Horkkkkkk!"
Trains have a horn for a reason, to keep you safe. Don't like it? Then move.
I'm so going to Lakeland to support horns, btw I'm not bringing a horn I just wanna touch the signals :D
Ma mom gonna take me there, see ya in June
3:42 whenever he said that, the train horn sounded like it responded
I SUPPORT THE HORN A LOT

That one did, It keeps people from getting killed.

Wow that's badass
piscaway,NJ has like no train horn zones
Amtrak unit 7 and 14. 7+7 = 14
No train horn! hooooonk. Yeah right

no horns, no horns, you can hear train coming, we need no train horns every where.
How do you know when the trains crossing time is
Wouldn't it just make more sense to have no train horn at night in a quiet zone?
Trains should always blow their horns for safety! In the words of a railfan, trains BLOW BABY BLOW YOR HORNS!!
Cn and CP used to come to our town with grain etc. but then they ripped up the track for space :(
Alan where are we going to go to get the horns there putting quiet zones everywhere
