These guys are the real thing, right here. No hiding behind walls of gain,no studio tricks,no stupid make-up or gags, just pure raw talent. Im a gigging musician and playing guitar for 25 yrs and I know talent when i see it. You guys got good things coming your way,and thank you for bringing REAL rock n roll to the younger generation. Fantastic!
If the music is good why should it matter who is performing it? Zeppelin didn't get famous because they were Zeppelin, they got famous because their music was great. If GVF's music is great why shouldn't they be allowed the same success?
To be fair, Zeppelin somewhat copied earlier artists work. This is no secret, really. Zep' made the songs their own. Musicians do whatever they want with their musical influences, and this is GVF's take on it. I'm greedy. I like this stuff! I'll take it.
just a humble comment to the young kids watching this videos: Don't just watch the bands online. Go to the actual concerts whenever you can, there is nothing like the experience of being there singing along with your musical heroes and it helps musicians to still have an income and keep doing their music.
I'm a 62 yo grandmother and I am totally mesmerized by these kids! I haven't bought music in a long time but I will definitely be purchasing their stuff!
I am 56 and I woke up for work this morning with the highway song buzzing in my head from the night before, funny how music can do that, I think what is the most notable trait of these young guys and their music is the ability to rekindle a long dwindled adrenal rush music used to give me. Consider I lived through the British invasion and listened to the birth and development of the biggest bands ever to blaze trails into all our lives. What is cool is that Led Zeppelin rose to fame at a time when the world was ready for them and they were not hindered with familiarity and saturation of the genera they would eventually posses , in other words they were not hindered by some of the hurdles GVF has had to overcome , all this music has been done before and done to death for decades , the fact that these guys are catching on so quickly despite that, is testament to just how talented they are , the cohesiveness of their sound the lyrics melodies tempo timing beat inflections and blazing stunningly unique vocals by Josh are what make GVF able to bulldoze through a jaded audience deadened by decades of musical mediocrity and ignite the excitement in people garnishing reactions such as the ones on this blog, to simply say as some have that GVF is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and that is their appeal is crushingly marginalizing , my God listen to the acoustic version of Black Smoke Rising these are genuinely masterful songwriters singers and musicians. These guys are on fire and I cant wait to hear what comes next. I still remember how it felt when I got my first Zeppelin, Stones , Floyd LP and so so many other monster talents, the only reason I can remember , and I am being completely sincere in saying this , is that after listening to this entire track , for the first time in decades I felt it again I want to have all my friends over and crank this cool new album buy this new monster band Greta Van Fleet in its unstoppable infancy and we will all play air guitar and get buzzed laugh and not give a fuck about anything because the music is doing the talking and pulled us all out of our heads to let us live in the moment, that's some serious spiritual currency . Peace Everybody Darren.
This is not new "music." This is a direct sonic and visual re- release of Led Zeppelin. The only thing they didn't do is die the singers hair blonde because that would have gone too far. I mean this guy is even playing a slightly out of intonation SG.. come on ..
urbanothepopeofdeath, stolen riffs repackaged completely new, amped, hard, more intricate. A newer, sultry howl and stage presence. Led did that. They literally reinvented a standard wheel. Greta just copies them in a less impressive manner with no reinvention.
The best band to come along in 30 yrs. Its been way to long since a guitar drivin'' rock band has emerged on the top of the fans list.. Great job guys.
They won't blow up unless they drop the direct Zeppelin imitation bullshit. The kid sounds like Plant already. He doesn't need to TRY to sound any more like him. Also, the clothes and stage movements that he does are ridiculous. This band will be forgotten in two years if they don't start going their own way.
No actual heavy blues musician thinks this is direct Zeppelin copy. Yes, they are not apologizing for the influence bit there is no other real source for this style. Yes Josh sounds like he is imitating plant, or really more like he has imitating Jack Black doing Zeppelin. But it's a very narrow style and no matter where they go with it, the Zip influence will show. The guitarist does not follow the Page style as closely as it may at first seem. No more than Rich Robinson
my new fav band, coming to the uk for my 46th birthday in april, can not wait to see them live, needed an orgasmatronic wailer in my life since plant went country and can't scream like he used to, can't believe how young they are all are and be that tight, excellent musicians all of them, digging their groove big time so I am very glad to see talent get recognised
I have such a Grandma Crush on these kids. They are truly fantastic! Seen them twice, it’s almost disbelief that I can share real Rock with my daughter! I’m like: I gotta meet their parents!!!!!
I kept watching videos of 70s performers coz these days music is so depressing ... but thanks to this young group ... I feel revived. I wish them all the best.
Watching this in 2021... remember it from years ago... Have seen then many times since then, and miss "Talk on the Street" live! But, biy have they evolved--they do a fantastic live show.
In 4 months I'll be 65. So I have been around since Bill Halley and Comets all the way up to the auto tuners and track over lays. I played professionally in my younger days but had to go back to the day job. Enough about me. THESE YOUNG MEN HAVE IT. They have an incredible sound. They blend perfectly and know how to get an audience off their butts. When I hear them play, I thank God they were raised on GOOD music. My compliments to their parents. See you in Detroit 12/30/18. Keep rocking.
diesel40 you're right about the singer, guitarist, and bassist being brothers, but only singer and guitarist are 20 year old twins. The bassist (their younger brother) and drummer just graduated from high school last summer. It's just amazing the talent these young men have!!
Rock will never be reborn rock will die... it has run its course there are no more original ideas for rock just influences for other younger genres like rap and hip hop... also rock will especially die if bands start copying each other like these shameless fuckers... the singer moves exactly like Robert plant and the drummers set is just a like John bonhams next thing u know the guitarist is gonna come out with a jimmy page les Paul and start looking kinda Asian as he gets older
Brice Andreasson no just the words of a person who loves rock and metal and rap and edm and who knows a lot about rock music... I don’t want rock to die but it will not survive 20-30 unless some real Bands come out with original ideas and people gravitate that way again... when rock does die tho it will Become classical music and influence whatever music is popular at the time(which will probably still Be rap music) just like its influencing rap music heavily now and how classical influenced a quite a few rock bands as well
I was fortunate to see Led Zepplin in 1975 Physical Graffiti Tour and 1977 Presence Tour both at the Los Angeles Forum...Zepplin Live was a magical experience and will never be matched...Back in the day I think I would have poo pooed Greta Van Fleet but here in 2017 I find the band refreshing and getting better with every listen, Yes the singer sounds like and has some of the same mannerisms as Robert Plant "Is that really a bad Thing???" Other than that I think they have there own sound...So Please stop with the comparisons and enjoy.
Lucky you! I wish I had the opportunity to see Led Zeppelin and specially Jimmy Page... And yes, like everybody here I'm kind of freaking out and obsessed with this guys, I'm a 35 rock and roll lover and I just want them to record new material and hoping they come to Mexico City soon...
Violeta Peláez ...Yes I was fortunate to see Zep live...The 70s were awesome for us rockers, My top five bands I saw live back in the day...5. Lynryd Skynyrd 4. RUSH 3. Aerosmith 2. Paul McCartney 1. Led Zepplin
Robert Plant must very happy about them........ Thank you Greta Van Fleet..... You gives us real rock "n" roll music again ........ Thank you sooooo much....
I'll be honest, I miss this Greta Van Fleet. Not that their new stuff isn't good, and I'm glad they found their own style, but it's insane the amount of nostalgia I have for something as recent as this. I wish they would put out rock and roll like this again.
The days of great bands never again.. until these guys came along.. this young group deff grew up right!!! I got turned on to them about 2 months ago and they blew me away.. brought me back to when I was there age (s), maybe a lil younger.. glad to see they aren't letting the great band era die off without a few words from them! Greta van fleet, rock on!!!!!!!!
god almighty I wish people would stop comparing them to Zeppelin...every song hear is an original and absolutely kicks ass... how is that copying Led Zep exactly???
The singer has to stop with the hand gestures that really are a blatant imitation...and other aspects of their songwriting (the repetition of 'mama' and 'woman')
I've been waiting over a decade for another rock band to come along I can get behind. I give zero fucks about the comparisons to Led Zep... that's a compliment. Their sound is solid, songs are great and catchy and they play very well. Grow from this start lads and you have a great future.
This show rocks....thanks for sharing it with us. What sucks are all the negative comments I am reading about this band! Are you freaking serious?! Shut up and listen to the awesomeness of this great rock and roll band. I love that they are similar to LZ...but this is not a cover band. Robert Plant is my favorite singer in the entire world....and I LOVE Greta Van Fleet! This is some of the best music to come out in DECADES. Robert Plant can die easy now....the torch has been passed.
Kudos to GVF for restoring my faith in some good ol Rock n Roll again!!! Fn kick ass boys. Feel free to come to Canada *Toronto* Ottawa* *Montreal* anytime 👍💯👌🤘
he sounds a lot like dave king of fastway in the first song, incredible talented young men, keeping my faith in the rock of our youth, god bless you guys - stay out of the hard stuff, it's gonna be a trip all in itself where you're going
Dave is a hell of a singer and a damn nice guy as well. Got to meet him several times and he was always super cool and very down to earth. Would love to hear him break out some of the Old Fastway/Katmandu songs....but he doesn't even like to talk about that stuff much.
for me in my 40s what a breath of fresh air and to rock n roll. love it. please I hope they make more music. love it. brings me back to what I remember when I was young. love.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. They are simply incredible. It will be so nice to hear those songs without the screaming girls.....although I’m guilty of screaming too😁
Theresa Bordelon I always find it weird when middle-aged women go on and on about their attraction to teenage boys. Seems vaguely pedophilic, not gonna lie.
Jake Sibley I agree. I don’t look at them that way. In fact it does get under my skin older women that do act like idiots going after basically kids. I have kids older than them. I’m just in awe that someone so young can get that classic sound and do it fantastically. I’m Facebook friends with one of their mom’s so trust me it would be pretty damn awkward for me to be lusting after them. That said, I support them 110%. Good kids from good families just trying to make it in a shitty business. So me personally, I’m gonna keep sharing their music, buying their merch and attending concerts despite being “an older lady”, I’m 46 btw and proud of it.
Theresa Bordelon Fair enough! Sorry for assuming, just been to too many shows where stuff like that has happened, guess I've gotten a little overly sensetive to it. Glad you enjoy their music.
Jake Sibley it’s cool, I guess the way I stated that I scream too could get misconstrued. I scream at any concert I attend that is good. In fact most frontmen ask for screams and hands up. Heck, where else is it okay for us grownups to cut loose and let out a good scream, lol.
Heard about them in some random Robert Plant interview while messing about on RUclips 2 days ago, now going to see them on Wednesday in my first proper gig for about 30 years. Can't bloody wait.
clemsontigz1 Just saying these guys a refreshing. Their just ripping of an old sound. As much as I love Zep and old school rock n roll music should be progressing. Not living in the past.
Many people talking "finally these guys are bringing back Rock 'n' Roll." You should check Graveyard, Blues Pills, Rival Sons, Kadavar, Brutus, Electric Citizen ... There are many pretty good bands nowadays, with young musicians, and people still sayin "Rock is dying". Come on, just stop being lazy and use internet in your favor. Thanks Greta Van Fleet to show the world that Rock 'n' Roll is alive and well.
Fred Paynter he actually seems to be using it properly from what I can tell! I don't see or hear a whole lot of strain. He's very open and supported. I'm no vocal expert, but I can tell the difference between properly executed power and strain.
Great to see young rockers keeping the good stuff going. I would like it if they came to Australia.....been listening for a while and recently commercial radio is really playing them allot.
I was there too again!!! Bass was way too loud and Guitar was tuned down!!! October 19 show was way better!!! I had a ticket for 30 oct. but decided not to go! They ll play at Forum soon!!
A friend of mine showed me these guys just the other day. Yes, there is a Zeppelin influence, but if you are a quality rock band, who better to emulate? They don't make bands like that anymore. I find it refreshing in this day and age that these guys are rocking it with respect to whats out there these days. I can't wait to see these guys when they come around. Melt. My. Face..
Great Job Kids!!!! Nice to hear a classic rock sound and see / hear your amazing talent, that being said, Be careful not to piss Jimmy off ( same guitar riffs and run downs, same timing..just different words ) Be Careful... You have the talent.. time to develop your own sound. But Like I said ... AWESOME !!!!!!!
Scott Hall isn't it amazing the talent these youngsters have? Did you know the drummer and bass player just graduated from high school last year, and the singer and lead guitarist are either 20 or 21 year old twins and the bass player is their younger brother??
Youth is no limit to talent. look up Marcus King - I have seen videos from him at 19 that are just flat out amazing. Look of some of the Guess Who (Canadian band - they wrote American Woman) - in some of the really early videos I'm sure that Burton Cummings (lead singer) can't be much older than 18 - many of the band members were very successful as a cover band while still in high school. Bryan Adams ("Summer of 69") dropped out of school at 15 to pursue music full time ...
Agreed, thank Gawd some youngsters can write some frickin' hard rock! Now it is obviously Zeppelin inspired, even blatant copy, but they hold their own quite well. We will have to wait though for lead singer to be more comfortable and grow into being a front man and not look so wooden (give us a show dude, move it, shake what yo' mama gave you, give us some cave-man-primal howl gail force hurricane face, throw us some pelvis, Elvis!!!! Too inhibited, but plenty of time to grow). Excellent start!!
Well, at least they're not doing covers, they're writing their own stuff. So what if he dresses a bit like Plant. It's still (sorta) a free world, and they're certainly entertaining to listen to!
Funny cos I think Plant was always self conscious and and awkward like he knew his pants were too tight but it was too late to change them. Watch Josh (the singer) and his smile and style are easy and confident. Na, he's great. Sorry.
The best under-25 rock band in the world. Period.
At the time, best 20 and under nearly. 😀
Forget his age, that bass player is just plain sick!
Chris J the hole Band is totally wonderful.. we in the rock n roll word really needed GVF......
@@GioGio-fq1vl Sam was actually 18 at the time of this gig... he didn't turn 19 until the following April.
That bass is mesmerizing
Greta Van Fleet rocks!
damn the bassist really knows his shit! i'm in love with this band
Pr0xity Bassist is so tight !!!! Great band !!!!!!
These guys are unbelievably talented. Thank you, Greta Van Fleet !
These guys are the real thing, right here. No hiding behind walls of gain,no studio tricks,no stupid make-up or gags, just pure raw talent. Im a gigging musician and playing guitar for 25 yrs and I know talent when i see it. You guys got good things coming your way,and thank you for bringing REAL rock n roll to the younger generation. you guessed it
well hello Rock n Roll its nice to see you again!!

Amen...let them rock!
Oh look, actual good music.
the bassist shreds! my gahdddd...
just a humble comment to the young kids watching this videos: Don't just watch the bands online. Go to the actual concerts whenever you can, there is nothing like the experience of being there singing along with your musical heroes and it helps musicians to still have an income and keep doing their music.
i live in israel! all i have is watching the concerts online :/
I am sorry to hear that, really no rock bands at all there? I think it is time for you to pick an instrument and start your own band then!!
Javier Aldan WELL SAID. I wish I could.
Javier Aldan well said. Remember leave your phone's at home and pay attention to what real music is when your at a concert
I love seeing all the old people here feeling young again. These guys are pure ROCK.
I'm a 62 yo grandmother and I am totally mesmerized by these kids! I haven't bought music in a long time but I will definitely be purchasing their stuff!

Yess!
Finally an old rocker like myself has great NEW MUSIC TO ENJOY. Thank you. You guys are great
This is not new "music." This is a direct sonic and visual re- release of Led Zeppelin. The only thing they didn't do is die the singers hair blonde because that would have gone too far. I mean this guy is even playing a slightly out of intonation SG.. come on ..
And Zeppelin sucked? GTFO.. These kids are great..
just remember ....led zeps music wasn't "new" either. stolen riffs from great blues masters in the southern USA.
urbanothepopeofdeath, stolen riffs repackaged completely new, amped, hard, more intricate. A newer, sultry howl and stage presence. Led did that. They literally reinvented a standard wheel. Greta just copies them in a less impressive manner with no reinvention.
LMMFAO sultry howl? BWAHAHAHAHA! You are now the minority. Read that shit you just typed. You're disconnected. Repackaged? Completely new!!
The best band to come along in 30 yrs. Its been way to long since a guitar drivin'' rock band has emerged on the top of the fans list.. Great job guys.
What I've been waiting for : Real Musicians , Singing With Real Voices Live and Playing from the heart . I Can Breathe Again ! :)
With Josh and Jake being twins..at 15:17 it’s like you can see the energy they both feel surging through josh as jake rips that mean solo!
Yess they're so in sync
hope these guys BLOW up. bringing back rock n roll. these boys are fucking great.
rock still exists, it never went away if you've been paying attention..

Shawn Smith Even Ben from Billy Talent said "Rock 'n' Roll is dying"
Michael Moldanado black smoke rising is pretty original
Incredible vocal range and a very tight band with tons of songs in the can. GvF will be HUGE by this time next year.
You were right!!
@@annelarkins5249 And even more so now!!
Even moreso now! Sold out mansion square a few months ago and nominated for yet another Grammy!
Serious?? These kids are off the charts...rock on dudes!
Can I really believe in Rock and Roll again? What a breath of fresh air these guys are! Great musicians!
bchuntfish that kid sure has great chops on guitar!
bchuntfish the singer is amazing to!
Check out Never Know Why by The Muggs. Think you'll enjoy that too.
bchuntfish its so incredibly refreshing to hear a band like this.

LJ LJ His dad is wondering when his wife hooked up with Robert Plant.
Ha ha Grandma Crush. Me too.
I have the exact opposite, a preteen crush 🥲
I kept watching videos of 70s performers coz these days music is so depressing ... but thanks to this young group ... I feel revived. I wish them all the best.
I agree 110%. I can’t wait to see them for the first time....
thank you for the upload. these men are incredible, and I love the revival of good, classic music in our era. excited to see where they go.
30 years later and the sound system at the Troubadour still blows. Gvf are really good despite that.
These kids are playing the Troubador, it's official...They're the real deal.
James Griffin It ain't real until they play Madison Square Garden and they get their cash stolen like in The Song Remains the Same.
James Griffin Plenty of groups play the troubadour and go downhill big time.
For reals
Saw them here in spokane late oct ,, these kids jam , it was awesome ,they are going upward !
Got to play the Whisky down the street, where The Doors were the house band and Buffalo Springfield opened for them. now that's a show

So that’s how the 60’s and 70’s looked like in high definition...!
Watching this in 2021... remember it from years ago... Have seen then many times since then, and miss "Talk on the Street" live! But, biy have they evolved--they do a fantastic live show.

51min 30sec to 55min 40sec. They're stadium ready. Absolutely amazing performance.
Steve Jennings great, now I'm going to have to jump forward to that spot...
just wanted to leave a quick Thank You for posting this show...this grandma watches it every night before bed! Peace!♡♡♡
How can they be so young and be so good !!!
They were raised right, for sure. :D
Most of those classic bands got their fame when they were in their mid 20s.
Dad's influence. Did he buy them an Xbox? Probably not. A guitar and amp instead.
Kim Parish I dunno, ask every classical musician ever who's way better than them at this age.
It happens once in a great while. Aerosmith was young like this when they started out.

Robert Plant can die easy now....the torch has been passed.
OMG What a thrill this had to be for them! The Troubadour! The History 😮
Oh it harkens me back to what it must have been like in 1968 watching the Zep play it's first songs live!
Michigan Rock and Roll,,,,,,great work boys,,,
Just great, I as a Led Zeppelin listener am excited, great guys ! Rock and Roll never dies !!! Rock on.... 🎸 🎼 🎹 🥁
BRILLIANT!!! I love this band!
Kudos to GVF for restoring my faith in some good ol Rock n Roll again!!! Fn kick ass boys. Feel free to come to Canada *Toronto* Ottawa* *Montreal* anytime 👍💯👌🤘
I'm from Hollywierd.!! Best RnR Band in 30yrs,,,,
he sounds a lot like dave king of fastway in the first song, incredible talented young men, keeping my faith in the rock of our youth, god bless you guys - stay out of the hard stuff, it's gonna be a trip all in itself where you're going
Dave King is so deserving of his success. Great singer.
Dave is a hell of a singer and a damn nice guy as well. Got to meet him several times and he was always super cool and very down to earth. Would love to hear him break out some of the Old Fastway/Katmandu songs....but he doesn't even like to talk about that stuff much.
kita17n say what you will
Of Native American heritage. Hell to the yeah !!!
F$ck, I guess we'll need to hide the alcohol from him.
Wrong, they are Dutch decsent
@@zeekevans6649 Polish, folks.
hell!!!!!!thought i missed todays concert!
He should be very careful of his voice unlike Robert Plant who nearly lost it. I hope that he doesn't smoke
for me in my 40s what a breath of fresh air and to rock n roll. love it. please I hope they make more music. love it. brings me back to what I remember when I was young. love.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. They are simply incredible.
It will be so nice to hear those songs without the screaming girls.....although I’m guilty of screaming too😁
November 10, full length EP album coming out! Watch out that CD & Vinyl without screaming girls in it!!!! lol
I am obsessed!!!!!!!
Hey artists, this is what fucking Musicians look like ..
clemsontigz1 I don't understand what you're trying to say
Musicians that rip off Zep and don't try to do anything new or interesting to progress music? Ok.
Jake Miller , yeap thank Baby Jesus Led zepp never ripped anyone off or ever taken to court an sued etc.. that wouldve been awful
clemsontigz1 Just saying these guys a refreshing. Their just ripping of an old sound. As much as I love Zep and old school rock n roll music should be progressing. Not living in the past.
That was so sweet when Jake gave the pick to that fan!
Its about time real rock makes a comeback! needing much more like this.
Take a shot everytime he lets go of the mic cable! ;)
GVF are hopefully the start of another shift in musical tastes
Welcome back Rock and Roll! We missed you!
Awesome drummer! Love he's drum solo at the end of Safari song!
3)Edge of Darkness 10:58
He need to not blow out his pipes...save them...You will need them...ROCK ON FELLAS.
Fred Paynter he actually seems to be using it properly from what I can tell! I don't see or hear a whole lot of strain. He's very open and supported. I'm no vocal expert, but I can tell the difference between properly executed power and strain.
Sorry to disagree... He needs to be more careful with his voice.... If he wants to keep it...
Great to see young rockers keeping the good stuff going.
I would like it if they came to Australia.....been listening for a while and recently commercial radio is really playing them allot.
You can tell he really admires Plant. Same stance, the hand gestures, little movement like him. Love it
awesome , love it!
Saw them yesterday, pretty dam sick!!
I was there too again!!! Bass was way too loud and Guitar was tuned down!!! October 19 show was way better!!! I had a ticket for 30 oct. but decided not to go! They ll play at Forum soon!!
H Wal forum should be nice! and yea I would’ve liked the guitar a little bit louder...
Awesome..hope I get to see them live..Detroit's rockin' back..my new favourite band✌👍🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Just discovered these guys today...I'm thoroughly impressed!Hoping to see them at Rock On The Range in May 2018. Columbus Ohio
Great band, makes me believe in rock again. But I don't know how long does he will can go up with his voice.
Boy's don't even shave yet! Lol but damn their a breath of fresh air! Can't wait to see them on the east coast 🤘
Greta Van Fleet,a banda do século.Estavamos precisando desse vocal. Parabéns.
Bass player is exceptional
Rock never dies.... It just takes long cigarette breaks.
Wesley Eisenberg And hit the Ab cruncher, like a lot.
The dude is even dressed like plant. That’s annoying to me.
Hey, they're kids still. Give 'em 3 years, and get out of the way. :D
Sorry.
